Netflix drops another Harlan Coben thriller — and this time, it hits closer to home, literally. I Will Find You is the first Coben adaptation set in the United States, and it might just be the most gripping one yet.

The Story in a Nutshell

David Burroughs (Sam Worthington) has spent five years in a high-security prison for allegedly murdering his three-year-old son. He maintains his innocence — quietly, grimly. Then a fired journalist and ex-sister-in-law, Rachel (Britt Lower), shows him a photograph of a child who looks exactly like his son, birthmark and all.

I Will Find You

That’s all David needs. He breaks out. And the chase begins.

Pursuing him are FBI agents Max Williams (Chi McBride) and Sarah Greer (Logan Browning) — a father-daughter duo whose emotional subplot adds surprising depth to the series.

What Works — and What Doesn’t

The good: Worthington is magnetic. He brings raw grit and vulnerability to a role that demands both. Clancy Brown as crime boss Nicky Fisher steals every scene he’s in. Each episode ends with a twist, and most of them genuinely land.

The not-so-good: The show leans on coincidences a bit too hard — think conveniently timed trucks and rooftop leaps. Fans of the Harlan Coben formula will feel some déjà vu, especially if they watched Run Away.

Still, the pacing is relentless. You won’t check your phone.

Should You Watch It?

Absolutely — on first viewing. I Will Find You is a rollercoaster built for the ride, not the rewatch. It’s formulaic, yes. But it’s also one of Coben’s best Netflix outings to date.
