HTC is not a brand that you may have heard of in the recent past but the company did build a good name for itself when touchscreen smartphones were becoming more and more popular which is a long time ago, however, it seems to be trying to gain relevancy once more as it has launched an exclusive device for the metaverse.
HTC Desire 22 Pro aims to create a completely new segment amongst smartphones:
The Desire 22 Pro is the successor to the Desire 21 Pro, it is the company’s smartphone lineup that prioritizes the metaverse. It is the ‘perfect companion’ to HTC’s latest Vive Flow VR headset. The headset offers a chance to explore the virtual reality world Viverse, which is essentially what the metaverse is based on. The headset can connect to any Android device but the Desire 22 Pro could offer some other interesting features as well.
Some new features we are likely to see are access to a digital wallet to manage cryptos and a free Non-Fungible Token. The phone comes with a 6.6″ FHD+ display along with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout for the 32MP selfie shooter. The Snapdragon 695 chip will power the phone along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. HTC’s Desire 22 Pro is juiced by a 4,520mAh battery with wireless and reverse charging support.
On the rear, we see a triple camera setup with a 64MP primary lens, a 13MP ultrawide angle lens, and a 5MP depth sensor. The Desire 22 Pro arrives with IP67 water and dust resistance rating along with support for Android 12 OS by default. The phone retails for $490 or Rs.36,864.
