Cross-Platform Event Links Anime Streaming to Gaming
The collaboration kicks off alongside Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.7 featuring new 5-star character Cyrene (Remembrance). Players link their HSR accounts to Crunchyroll to access the Premium trial, watch the exclusive “Chimerric Park” fan art program, and complete missions across four rounds through late January.
“Nearly 80% of anime fans play anime or anime-related games, and 40% of our audience are playing pop culture defining games like Honkai: Star Rail more than 20 hours a week,” stated Terry Li, Executive Vice President of Emerging Business at Crunchyroll. The collaboration targets this overlap between anime viewers and gamers.
For anime and gaming crossover fans, this represents unprecedented integration between streaming platforms and live-service games. The four-round structure spreads engagement across three months, with each phase offering new quests and rewards that encourage sustained participation.
HoYoFair’s “Chimerric Park” showcases commissioned fan works derived from Honkai: Star Rail, celebrating the game’s creator community. The two-week Crunchyroll exclusive premiere elevates fan art to the same platform hosting premium anime titles, validating the cultural significance of HSR’s fanbase.
The mission structure is simple: link accounts, watch “Chimerric Park,” complete viewing objectives, and claim rewards including up to 120 Stellar Jades. Both new and existing Crunchyroll members qualify, making it accessible whether you’re already a Premium subscriber or trying the service for the first time.
The collaboration excludes China, Japan, Russia, select sanctioned countries, and Ukrainian conflict regions, but covers most major gaming markets including India, Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe.
Honkai: Star Rail’s space fantasy RPG has built a massive following since launch, with its turn-based combat system and immersive storylines attracting millions globally. HoYoverse’s commitment to community engagement through initiatives like HoYoFair demonstrates how the developer nurtures its fanbase beyond just releasing game updates.
The timing with Version 3.7 is strategic—new players get a boost from collaboration rewards while existing players have fresh content to explore alongside the Crunchyroll Premium trial that unlocks thousands of anime episodes.
