Crunchyroll Manga Launches in India, Expanding Digital Content Offering

Crunchyroll, the global anime brand, has launched its digital manga service, Crunchyroll Manga, in India. The expansion makes a selection of over 250 manga titles available directly to fans through the platform, accessible via a new Ultimate Fan membership tier.

The announcement was made by Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini during the closing remarks at the company’s inaugural Crunchyroll Anime Future Forum in New York City. The initiative aims to provide a unified platform where fans can both read manga and stream their anime adaptations.

Crunchyroll Content and Availability

Initially, the service will feature over 250 localized English titles from publishers including J-Novel Club, Square Enix, and Yen Press. Notable series available at launch include *The Apothecary Diaries*, *My Dress-Up Darling*, *Bocchi the Rock!*, *Bungo Stray Dogs*, and *Delicious in Dungeon*. Crunchyroll has indicated that additional titles and publishers, including content from VIZ Media, are slated to join the library in the future.

Crunchyroll Manga is available on iOS, Android, and web platforms. The service provides unlimited, ad-free reading, with features such as offline reading capabilities, full two-page spread viewing, personalized reading lists, and curated recommendations. The platform also facilitates seamless transitions between manga and its corresponding anime adaptations.

Crunchyroll Membership Structure and Pricing

Access to Crunchyroll Manga in India is exclusively through the new Ultimate Fan membership. This tier is priced at INR 299 per month or INR 999 annually. The Ultimate Fan membership encompasses both Crunchyroll’s anime streaming and the new manga offerings, supporting simultaneous access on up to six devices. The digital manga service is powered by Link-U Group, a Japanese digital manga service developer, in which Crunchyroll recently made a minor investment.
