Here’s everything you need to know, with full spoilers ahead.

What Is Stranger Things: Tales From ’85?

Set against the events of 1985, the animated series follows Eleven, Mike Wheeler, Will Byers, Dustin Henderson, Lucas Sinclair, and Max Mayfield as the gang discovers new threats to humanity and goes underground to save themselves. Upside Down has been riddled with a new emergence — a plant-like creature that threatens their peaceful existence.

This time, they’re also joined by a new companion named Nikki, who adds fresh energy to the iconic squad.

The Ending Explained — What Happened to Queen?

Even as the group of friends and their new mate Nikki discover the spores and take down as many threats as possible, new ones keep surfacing. They discover that the weird plants are emerging from the Upside Down and ramming the gate open with each growth — meaning they must stop the monster from opening the Gate fully to save the real world.

The origin of the chaos? Hawkins Food Mart clerk Daniel Fischer is revealed to have been carrying out experiments that cause the creation of Queen, a scary, green appearance. What he believed to be harmless attempts created a network of monsters.

As for how they win: the friends work together with their monster-killing weapons and get rid of the creature by trapping it in the door between the alternate dimension and the real world. It’s a classic Hawkins victory — messy, desperate, and barely pulled off.

That Ending Scene: A Tease for What’s Next?

Don’t go hitting stop too soon. A Demogorgon-mouthed flower is showcased at the end, teasing the beginning of what could become the central plot for the stories to come. It’s a small moment with massive implications — and if you know your Stranger Things lore, you know nothing that blooms in this universe ever stays harmless.
