Devotional cinema doesn’t usually break box office records — but Hanuman Ansh is proving that low-key, faith-driven storytelling can outlast even the biggest theatrical juggernauts. The film just shattered a 25-year-old record, and it’s still climbing toward a milestone few devotional dramas ever touch.

Hanuman Ansh: The Record That Just Fell

On its 8th Saturday, Hanuman Ansh earned Rs. 6.50 crore — a single day that alone surpassed the previous all-time Week 8 record held by Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which had grossed Rs. 7 crore (Rs. 4 crore nett) in its entire eighth week. Hanuman Ansh’s 8th weekend cume already stands at Rs. 9.50 crore nett in just two days, comfortably eclipsing that decades-old benchmark.

The Collection Journey So Far

Period	Nett Collection
Week One	Rs. 0.90 cr
Week Two	Rs. 0.50 cr
Week Three	Rs. 10.35 cr
Week Four	Rs. 58.25 cr
Week Five	Rs. 84.75 cr
Week Six	Rs. 76.75 cr
7th Week Total	Rs. 42.75 cr
8th Friday	Rs. 3.00 cr
8th Saturday (est.)	Rs. 6.50 cr
Total So Far	Rs. 283.75 cr

Why This Run Is So Remarkable?

Most films peak in their first two weeks and taper off steadily after that. Hanuman Ansh did the opposite — its biggest weeks (Four, Five, and Six) came well after release, a pattern typically reserved for word-of-mouth-driven sleeper hits. Backed by the story of Neem Karoli Baba, the film has become one of the standout ROI stories in recent Bollywood history, and with current trends holding steady, it’s firmly on track to cross the Rs. 300 crore mark.

The bigger question now is how it performs once Drishyam 3: The Conclusion releases — a major theatrical event expected to dominate screens and audience attention in the coming weeks.

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, the 2001 blockbuster whose 25-year-old Week 8 record was just broken, is according to Wikipedia widely regarded as one of the highest-grossing and most influential Bollywood films of its era.
