Subnautica 2 is making a splash on GeForce NOW day-and-date with the launch, so members can plunge into the title’s brand-new alien ocean from almost any device. It leads to 11 new games joining the cloud this week.

Subnautica 2 — Record-Breaking Early Access Launch

Subnautica 2 launches into Early Access on May 14, 2026 on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and GeForce NOW, priced at $29.99 USD. The game introduces co-op multiplayer for the first time in the franchise, alongside deeper biomes, expanded crafting systems, and a new Genetic Modification mechanic.

Set on a mysterious alien world distinct from the original game’s Planet 4546B, the sequel lets up to four players explore, build, and survive together. Dynamic ecosystems feature unpredictable weather, colossal marine creatures, and hidden ruins. Players can also modify their characters using traits acquired during exploration — a layer of progression tied directly to the narrative.

At launch, Subnautica 2 supports DLSS Super Resolution and DLSS Frame Generation, which can be upgraded to DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and DLSS 4.5 Multi Frame Generation 6X Mode via the NVIDIA app for even better image quality and higher performance.

The road to Early Access was not entirely smooth — ongoing legal disputes between developer Unknown Worlds and publisher Krafton led to delays and corporate shakeups throughout 2025 and early 2026. However, both parties committed to the May 14 release, and with the game topping Steam wishlist charts, the demand is undeniable.

Forza Horizon 6 — Japan, DLSS 4.5, and Early Access Now Live

Forza Horizon 6 arrives in Premium Edition Early Access on May 15 before its global launch on May 19 via Steam, the Xbox App, and Game Pass. Playground Games takes the Horizon Festival to Japan this time, and the PC version is not short on graphical firepower: 4K HDR, ultrawide support, uncapped frame rates, ray-traced reflections, and ray-traced global illumination are all available.

The racing game is slated to launch on May 19 for standard edition owners, which should also hit GeForce NOW on day one as part of NVIDIA’s partnership with Microsoft. Game Pass subscribers get access at standard launch alongside Premium Early Access players already in.

New Game Ready Driver: 596.49 WHQL

NVIDIA released GeForce Game Ready Driver 596.49 WHQL this week, covering Forza Horizon 6, Directive 8020, and Subnautica 2. The driver is certified for 64-bit Windows 10 (22H2) and Windows 11 including the 25H2 update, and is available through the NVIDIA App and GeForce.com.

The 596.49 release also fixes an enhanced smoothness issue that appeared with DLSS Frame Generation and V-Sync in previous driver versions. NVIDIA has removed GTX 10 Series and GTX 900 Series cards from Game Ready driver eligibility — those older GPUs will still receive security updates but will no longer receive new GRDs.

HITMAN Rewards Event — Free Through May 25

Hitman World of Assassination players can now earn in-game rewards for using GeForce NOW. Free users get an explosive rubber duck; Performance members receive a TNT bundle; Ultimate members unlock a purple fiber wire and a new swimwear suit for Agent 47.

Le Chiffre from Casino Royale, played by Mads Mikkelsen, also returns to Hitman World of Assassination. Play for free through May 25 and earn a unique reward for 007 First Light.
