What’s the Buzz About?
Directed by Chella Ayyavu, this sports comedy-drama is a follow-up to the 2022 hit Gatta Kusthi. It follows Veera, now a stay-at-home husband supporting his wife Keerthi’s wrestling career, as the couple clashes over raising their daughter Mathi Malar — who has zero interest in academics or sports. Their differing parenting philosophies gradually strain both their marriage and Keerthi’s athletic journey.
What Gatta Kusthi 2 Twitter Is Saying
| Reaction | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Praise for Aishwarya Lekshmi | Carried emotional scenes with confidence; entry called “goosebump-inducing” |
| Harsh Critic | Rated 1.5/5 — weak story, poor writing, unengaging screenplay |
| Positive Review | Called it a “clean, entertaining family film” with a solid climax |
| Mixed Take | Rated 1.5/5, but said Aishwarya’s portions were the only watchable part |
The most glowing reviews single out Aishwarya Lekshmi’s performance as Keerthi, particularly her handling of jealousy, anger, and emotional beats. One user also praised Vishnu Vishal’s comic timing, the school-comedy subplot, an unexpected song, and a courtroom sequence, adding that the film carries an inspiring message for girls. On the flip side, critics who didn’t enjoy it were fairly blunt, dismissing the writing and pacing as underwhelming.
The Cast Behind the Comedy
Alongside Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi, the film features Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Karunas, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, and Lizzie Antony in supporting roles — a lineup built for the kind of ensemble family comedy this genre, much like traditional Indian sports drama, thrives on.
Should You Watch It?
Honestly, it depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re after a lighthearted family watch with emotional beats and comic relief, several reviewers say it delivers. If you’re expecting a tightly written, high-stakes drama, the mixed-to-negative reviews suggest tempering expectations.
