Some detectives interrogate. Jin Yi Soo throws a party. In the latest preview stills from Flex x Cop 2, Ahn Bo Hyun‘s chaebol-heir-turned-detective character is back to his signature move — using charm, wealth, and a plate of fancy hotel desserts to pry secrets out of unsuspecting witnesses.
This time, the case revolves around a mysterious murder at the Rosebud Hotel on White Day, tangled up in affairs and jealousy that Jin Yi Soo and his new partner, veteran detective Joo Hye Ra (Jung Eun Chae), must untangle.

Charm as an Investigative Tool
Rather than a standard interrogation, Jin Yi Soo takes a very different approach — visiting the hotel’s room attendants directly in their break room, armed with an assortment of premium hotel desserts for what’s essentially a “tribute party.” His easygoing charisma wins the staff over almost instantly, and newly released stills show them eagerly sharing behind-the-scenes secrets while he listens closely, careful not to miss a single detail.
Joo Hye Ra, meanwhile, watches the scene unfold with a satisfied smile, amused by her partner’s unconventional but clearly effective methods — setting up what looks like a mix of humor and genuine detective work as the investigation deepens.
This blend of comedic charm and procedural crime-solving fits into a broader tradition of buddy-cop storytelling that pairs contrasting personalities to drive both humor and tension, a format widely explored in general discussions of the buddy cop film genre and its television adaptations.
