Facebook buys Battleground Survival VR game

Facebook recently have bought controlling interest in Oculus Studios who are currently developing a battleground survival game named Population: One.

Post the purchase of the studios Vice President of content at Facebook Reality labs Mike Verdu made a statement via a blog post “POP: ONE stormed onto the VR scene just nine months ago and has consistently ranked as one the top-performing titles on the Oculus platform, bringing together up to 24 people at a time to connect, play, and compete in a virtual world.”

“And while social is bringing players into POP: ONE, the quirky humor, continual updates, and pure fun of the environment keeps them coming back time and time again — we’ve even seen players scheduling time to meet in-game for a synchronous social experience.”

The title by Oculus studios has been quite a hit in VR gaming and has made $10 million in sales yet that too in just a few months. The title is currently available on Steam and the Oculus Store.

The developers have ensured the users that the title will continue receiving regular updates across all the platforms.

However, it is quite unsure what changes are about to come since Facebook have bought Oculus Studios.
