EBG Group, an Indian diversified business group, has announced the launch of Tarzan Jungle Cafe, a new experiential dining concept. The initiative aims to establish over 100 cafes across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities in India within the next three years, with the first flagship location slated to open in Hyderabad by March 2027. The group has allocated an investment exceeding ₹2 crore for the development of this initial flagship cafe.

Tarzan Jungle Cafe is designed to offer a nature-led dining experience, integrating jungle-themed environments with a focus on fresh, farm-linked food. A core component of the concept is EBG Group’s ‘Know Your Source’ approach, which emphasizes transparent sourcing for its ingredients.

EBG Expansion Strategy and Concept Details

Following the Hyderabad launch, EBG Group plans a phased expansion into major cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi-NCR. The initial cafes will be company-operated flagship outlets, with subsequent expansion to be facilitated through a structured franchise model.

Dr. Irfan Khan, Founder & Chairman of EBG Group(https://ebg.group/), commented on the venture, stating, “India’s consumer base is increasingly seeking dining establishments that offer an experience beyond just the meal. With Tarzan Jungle Cafe, our objective is to combine the appeal of nature, an immersive setting, and the assurance of traceable food sources. We aim to build a concept that is distinct in its experience yet scalable across multiple urban centers.”

A defining aspect of the cafe will be the ‘Know Your Source’ strategy, which aims to build a network prioritizing fresh produce, dairy, and proteins from identified farms and approved supply partners. The company intends to implement local and seasonal sourcing where feasible. As the platform develops, digital provenance for selected ingredients may be introduced, allowing customers to trace the origin of their food.

Market Context and Brand Portfolio

This expansion builds on EBG Group’s existing presence in the experiential food and beverage sector. The group currently operates over 50 Adhira & Appa Coffee cafes, Natuf Café—a Levantine cafe brand—and the Chhota Bheem Cafe in Hyderabad, which caters to families with a children-focused immersive dining experience. These brands underscore the group’s strategy of creating destinations that offer more than a traditional menu.

The announcement aligns with shifts within India’s organized food-service industry towards experience-led dining. According to the National Restaurant Association of India’s India Food Services Report 2024, the Indian food-services market is projected to expand from ₹5.69 lakh crore in FY24 to ₹7.76 lakh crore by FY28. This growth is driven by evolving consumer preferences for dining experiences, food quality, and transparency. Tarzan Jungle Cafe is positioned as a versatile destination catering to families, young adults, and professionals. The brand will be introduced across three formats: Tarzan Express (Pod/Kiosk), Tarzan Midway Café, and Jungle Flagship (G+1, approximately 3,500–5,000 sq. ft.). The Hyderabad flagship will serve as the prototype for nationwide expansion, bringing a natural escape into urban dining environments.
