EBG Group today announced the opening of India’s first Daewoo Experience Store in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. This launch marks a strategic expansion for the South Korean appliance brand in the Indian market, supported by an investment of ₹150 crore by EBG Group to establish 100 such stores across the country by 2027.

The 3,200 sq. ft. retail space, located in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, is designed to showcase Daewoo’s range of major home and kitchen appliances. The inauguration event featured Indian actor Murali Sharma, alongside Mr. Chan Ryu and Mr. Sangwan Oh from POSCO International, and EBG Group leadership.

EBG : Expanding Retail Footprint and Product Portfolio

The new store presents Daewoo’s product lines, including refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, dishwashers, microwave ovens, televisions, and various kitchen appliances. The retail concept aims to provide consumers with product demonstrations, personalized consultations, and after-sales support.

Dr. Irfan Khan, Founder of EBG Group, stated that the opening signifies a step in establishing Daewoo’s presence in India and making the brand’s technology accessible through a dedicated retail experience.

EBG Group operates under a brand licensing agreement with POSCO International for Daewoo’s Major Domestic Appliances business in India. Under this partnership, EBG Group is responsible for the brand’s development, manufacturing, distribution, and retail expansion within the country.

Investment and Localization Strategy

The ₹150 crore investment by EBG Group is allocated for product development, retail network expansion, strengthening distribution channels, localization initiatives, and introducing new appliance categories tailored for the Indian market. The company plans to build an omnichannel retail ecosystem, encompassing company-operated stores, direct-to-consumer platforms, e-commerce marketplaces, and partnerships with general trade and electronics retailers.

In line with the Indian government’s “Make in India” initiative, Daewoo products will be assembled by EBG Group in India under license, utilizing imported components. The company stated that localization levels are projected to increase progressively. This manufacturing approach is also intended to generate employment across the manufacturing, retail, distribution, logistics, and after-sales service sectors.

EBG Group also outlined future plans to introduce “DAEWOO One,” an integrated smart home ecosystem designed to connect multiple appliances through AI and IoT technologies. The company intends to further expand Daewoo’s portfolio of energy-efficient products, contributing to broader industry developments (https://technosports.co.in/) in connected home solutions.
