EA Sports WRC, the official video game of the World Rally Championship, has taken the gaming world by storm since its release in November 2023.

Developed by Codemasters, this title marks a significant milestone for the studio, being their first WRC-licensed rally game. And now, with the official unveiling of the EA Sports WRC roadmap, fans have plenty to look forward to.

A New Era of Rallying

The game’s popularity is undeniable, and EA Sports is committed to keeping players engaged and excited. A major highlight of the roadmap is the upcoming Season Expansion scheduled for release in October 2024.

This expansion promises to inject new life into the game with thrilling new locations, challenging rally stages, high-performance vehicles, and eye-catching liveries.

But that’s not all. EA has also confirmed two additional DLC packs to be released in Winter 2024 and Spring 2025 respectively. These DLCs will offer even more content, including fresh cars, expanded rally stages for existing locations, and exciting new moments.

Players who purchase the Season Expansion will receive these DLCs at no extra cost, making it a great value proposition for dedicated fans.

A More Rewarding Experience

In response to player feedback, EA has revamped the Rally Pass for Season 6, which kicks off on July 30. The new Rally Pass offers a more accessible experience, allowing players to unlock liveries for cars outside the WRC category.

The return of Moments adds another layer of excitement and challenge to the game. Best of all, the Rally Pass is entirely free, ensuring that all players can enjoy the rewards on offer.

Esports WRC: The Future of Competitive Rallying

One of the most intriguing announcements is the development of esports WRC. While details are still under wraps, EA has confirmed that the official competition information and event calendar are in the works.

The esports scene will feature online qualifiers held on RaceNet, culminating in an in-person final where players will battle it out for the prestigious title of esports WRC World Champion.

The competition promises to be intense, with a variety of challenges and locations. To ensure a level playing field, all participants will be required to use Rally1 cars.

A Bright Future for EA Sports WRC

The roadmap unveiled by EA Sports is undoubtedly exciting for fans of the game. With new content, improved features, and the launch of esports WRC, the future of the franchise looks incredibly promising. The developers have clearly listened to player feedback and are committed to delivering an exceptional gaming experience.

As we eagerly await the release of the Season Expansion and the subsequent DLC packs, one thing is certain: EA Sports WRC is poised to become an even bigger and better rally game.
