Dragon’s Dogma 2 New Steam Controversy

We all know that the Dragon’s Dogma 2 has released recently, just a day ago. And in this short span of time it already caused a controversy that is breaking the internet.

If you have played the game, or viewed it on the Steam then you should be knowing about the thing we are talking about here. And if you haven’t then don’t worry because we will be discussing everything from start.

So, we all know that on March 22, 2024, Dragon’s Dogma 2 was launched for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. For Windows PCs, it is available on Steam and there’s a cost of around $69.99.

The Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a deep and explorable fantasy game with a narrative driven action – RPG genre. This video game is developed and published by Capcom and soon after its launch on PC through Steam it has ignited a new controversy.

Less of a controversy and more of a vociferous debate is about the microtransactions in the game. In the fantasy game Dragon’s Dogma 2 there are almost 21 separate microtransactions that are available day – one.

The range of prices starts from $0.99 and goes to $4.99. These microtransactions are for different offerings that include an Explorer’s Camping Kit for $2.99 a Portcrystal warp location marker for $2.99 and $0.99 goal key.

Now these microstransactions have fired a controversy not only for the sheer number available at day – one but also for another reason. And that is, these microtransactions are making gameplay of Dragon’s Dogma 2 easier and faster for players.

This is something restricted in the game, which has been pointed out by the players. However even before the Dragon’s Dogma 2 was launched, its director, Hideaki Itsuno said,

“We’ve put a lot of work into designing a game where you can stumble across someone and something will happen, so while its fine if it does have fast travel, we decided to design the map in a way that the journey [itself] could be enjoyed. In the same kind of way [in real life] that you may deliberately choose to go by bike or on foot when traveling [instead of taking faster options]”.

So, now we have to see that where the game has been headed to with all its gameplay features and controversy. Stay tuned for more updates on the Dragon’s Dogma 2.
