Second Weekend: Small Dip, Strong Hold

The film earned about Rs 2.75 crore on its second Sunday, a 10% jump from Saturday. That brought the second weekend to Rs 6.50 crore.

The opening weekend peaked with Rs 3.75 crore on Day 3. Weekday collections then settled around Rs 1.25 crore to Rs 1.75 crore, a steady pattern for a family film.

What the Numbers Say?

Pinkvilla’s trade estimates say the film should hold well on weekdays and cross Rs 25 crore by the end of week two. For an anime release, that’s a favourable run, and word of mouth appears to be doing the work.

What’s the Film About?

Nobita and his friends head out on an undersea camping adventure with Doraemon’s futuristic gadgets. Their trip leads them to the hidden Mu Federation and a scary discovery: Poseidon, the rogue AI of the ancient Atlantis civilization, has activated a weapon capable of destroying Earth.

The group teams up with Mu’s El and heads into the Bermuda Triangle to stop it. Whether they succeed is what the film explores. You can read about the beloved franchise’s history on Wikipedia.

Why It’s Working?

• Family appeal: Kids and parents can enjoy it together, which helps weekend footfalls.
• Familiar charm: Doraemon’s gadgets and Nobita’s friendships are a safe, comforting draw.
• Adventure hook: A lost civilization, a rogue AI and the Bermuda Triangle make for a bigger story than the usual outing.
