Doraemon: Castle of the Undersea Devil Box Office: Rs 22.50 Crore and Still Swimming

A blue robot cat is quietly rewriting Indian box office history. Doraemon: Castle of the Undersea Devil held up well on its second Wednesday, and trade estimates now put it on course for a franchise-best run.

Doraemon: Castle of the Undersea Devil Box Office Overview

How’s the Run Going?

According to Pinkvilla, Wednesday’s 25% drop counts as a “good hold.” The film is approaching the Rs 25 crore gross mark and “is expected to keep gaining traction, though at low levels.”

The numbers fit that story. The opening day collected Rs 2.90 crore, and the first Sunday was the film’s biggest day at Rs 3.75 crore. A second-weekend bump followed, with Rs 2.50 crore and Rs 2.75 crore, before weekdays settled around Rs 1 crore or under.

Why the Rs 30 to 35 Crore Estimate Matters?

The franchise’s previous best in India was just Rs 5 crore. Even at the low end of the projection, this film would multiply that record several times over. Pinkvilla calls it “a banger total,” and the trend shows anime is finding a bigger Indian theatrical audience.

What’s the Film About?

Nobita and his friends head on an undersea camping trip using Doraemon’s gadgets. They stumble on the hidden Mu Federation and a terrifying discovery: a rogue AI from ancient Atlantis, Poseidon, has activated a weapon that could destroy Earth. The group teams up with Mu’s El and heads into the Bermuda Triangle to stop it.
