TV Chosun’s Doctor Shin (premiering March 14, 2026) captures a cast entangled in impossible moral choices and hidden conspiracies, where genius neurosurgeon Shin Ju-Shin (Jung E-Chan) crosses medicine’s final boundary by attempting a forbidden brain transplant between his comatose fiancée and her mother. The character posters reveal five souls trapped by obsessive love, desperate deception, and truths that could destroy them all.
Jung E-Chan, making his leading role debut, portrays Shin Ju-Shin—a world-renowned brain surgeon whose skills rival the divine. Elegant, commanding, and brilliant, he appears to possess everything. Yet the posters capture him in devastating moments: fully focused during surgery, drinking wine with grave expression, locked in tense conversations where inner turmoil radiates from his eyes.
Baek Seo-Ra, in her television debut as top actress Momo, embodies the catalyst that unravels everything. Her tragic accident leaves her brain-damaged and comatose, prompting Shin to propose an unprecedented, forbidden procedure: brain transplantation. The question haunting the entire narrative: Can love justify violating medical ethics and human boundaries?

The Brain-Swap Horror
Director Lee Seung-hoon, under writer Phoebe’s bold premise, constructs a narrative where medicine enters taboo territory. The mother-daughter brain transplant isn’t just shock value—it explores whether surgical genius can resurrect souls or only violates divine boundaries. When Shin pursues this “unprecedented medical procedure,” every character becomes complicit in conspiracy.

Casting Newcomers for Fresh Chaos
TV Chosun’s writer/producer Im is famous for “shock twist” narratives. By casting relatively unfamiliar actors (Jung E-Chan’s debut, Baek Seo-Ra’s first TV role), the production aims for freshness rather than recognizable faces anchoring predictable stories. This gamble means audiences have no preconceptions about these characters’ fates.
