Nottingham Forest right-back Djed Spence is starting to attract interest from some of the top clubs in Europe. The player is on loan at Forest from Middlesbrough, and put in a remarkable performance as he helped eliminate Arsenal from the FA Cup.
With two goals and three assists in 34 games, the player is among the most highly rated right-backs in the Championship. And following his performances, clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have emerged to try and sign him.
Djed Spence attracting interest from England and abroad
Alongside the Premier League clubs, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also keeping tabs on the 21-year-old. Since he has a contract with Middlesbrough until 2024, Spence could be signed for a transfer fee around €12-14 million, which is quite high considering he is playing in the Championship.
Tottenham are reportedly leading the race for Djed Spence as of now. They want a new player since Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty have been unable to convince Antonio Conte so far this season. First team football will be key in deciding the future, since the youngster wouldn’t want to play second fiddle to established stars at clubs like Arsenal or Liverpool.
The prospect of playing for Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League is also a tempting one for the youngster. And it now remains to be seen where he decides to move, and which team can strike a deal with his parent club.
