Nottingham Forest Reach £22M Agreement to Sign Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace 

Oliver Glasner is getting his man. Crystal Palace wing-back Daniel Muñoz is travelling to Nottingham to complete a move to Forest and reunite with former manager Oliver Glasner at the City Ground after a deal was agreed between the two clubs.

As per David Ornstein at The Athletic, Nottingham Forest made an offer worth up to £22 million for Daniel Munoz, including a £20m initial fee and a further £2m in add-ons.

The move holds strong appeal for the player. Glasner spoke directly with the right-back, and Munoz made his position clear to Palace management — he wants to leave Selhurst Park and reunite with his former manager at the City Ground. The two enjoyed a successful period together in South London, where Munoz served as a cornerstone of Glasner’s system, making the prospective move a prime target for both player and coach.

Why Crystal Palace Are Selling

Palace had already prepared for the potential loss of Muñoz with the signings of both Anan Khalaili and also Óscar Mingueza, allowing the 30-year-old Colombian to move on and offering Palace a final chance to cash in on a player who could be on the decline soon.

Daniel Munoz still has two years remaining on his current contract, while the club also have an option to extend that agreement by another season.

Last season, the Colombia international scored five goals and assisted four in 46 games across all competitions. The season before, it was six goals and seven assists.

Munoz registered 2.77 tackles and 3.63 clearances per game in the Premier League last season, amassing 7.42 defensive contributions in every 90 minutes.

Glasner previously described Munoz as “a mix between a right-back and a right winger,” adding that he knew his attacking style and that he was very dangerous. He noted that even before Munoz came to Palace, he scored five goals in the Belgium league in six months — and that was simply his nature.

Making 109 appearances for Palace, Munoz has been one of the true fighters of Palace’s best ever season.

Two trophies followed for Palace, with Munoz assisting Eberechi Eze’s winner in the 2025 FA Cup final against Manchester City, and featuring throughout as they beat Rayo Vallecano to win the Conference League in May.

The World Cup Factor

Munoz scored twice for Colombia at the 2026 World Cup before their campaign came to an end with a Round of 16 defeat to Switzerland. His performances last season under Glasner and at the World Cup made him an attractive option for clubs looking for an established player in the right-back position.

High-profile arrivals such as defender Ousmane Diomande and forward Liam Delap have landed for substantial fees at the City Ground this summer, and Munoz’s arrival would add proven Premier League quality to Forest’s right flank — a position Glasner has been keen to address.

While Glasner’s current option as the right-wing-back in his system, Ola Aina, is capable, his more natural position is further back. But in Munoz, the Austrian will have a player that he knows will thrive in that position.
