Let’s be real — when a sequel outperforms its blockbuster predecessor in the second weekend, you’re not just watching a hit film. You’re witnessing a box office phenomenon. And that’s exactly what Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge has pulled off in March 2026.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge: The Historic Numbers — At a Glance
Dhurandhar: The Revenge clocked over Rs. 151 crore in its second weekend at the Hindi box office, with Rs. 58.50 crore coming in on Sunday alone. The film’s running total in Hindi now stands at a staggering Rs. 722 crore nett.
What makes this truly jaw-dropping is that it surpassed the previous record-holder — its own predecessor Dhurandhar — which had collected Rs. 135.50 crore in its second weekend, registering a spike of 10 percent over the original.

Why This Record Matters So Much
A film’s second weekend performance is arguably more telling than its opening — it reflects genuine audience love, word of mouth, and repeat viewership rather than just opening-day hype. Only four films in Indian cinema history have ever crossed the three-digit mark in their second weekend, and only Dhurandhar: The Revenge has managed to cross Rs. 150 crore nett.
That puts it in a completely different league from Pushpa 2, Stree 2, Animal, and every other modern blockbuster. This is exactly what a true box office juggernaut looks like — one that doesn’t just open big but keeps pulling audiences back week after week.
Director Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh have not just delivered a sequel — they’ve redefined what a Hindi blockbuster can achieve in the modern era.
