A Hit, Even If Not a Blockbuster

Directed by Indra Kumar, Dhamaal 4 has settled into Clean Hit territory, though it didn’t quite hit the blockbuster heights its strong opening weekend hinted at. Still, it marks the fourth Hit of the year for Bollywood, joining Border 2, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, and Bhooth Bangla — a run that quietly puts to rest last year’s chatter about franchise fatigue. With current trends holding, the film is expected to close its full theatrical run around Rs 160 crore nett, just before facing its toughest competition yet: Spider-Man: Brand New Day this coming weekend.

The Dhamaal franchise itself has been a comedy staple in Bollywood since its 2007 debut; more on its history can be found on Wikipedia’s Dhamaal page. For more box office trackers and daily collection updates, check out TechnoSports Entertainment.
