Dexter: Resurrection Season 2: First Look at Dan Stevens and Gabriel Luna as New Serial Killers

Paramount+ has released a new batch of first-look images from Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, offering fans their first proper glimpse of Dan Stevens and Gabriel Luna as two brand-new serial killers set to torment Dexter Morgan in New York City. The images arrived on 8 September 2026, alongside confirmation of the season’s premiere date.

Meet the New Killers

Dan Stevens plays The Five Borough Killer, a character explicitly designed to evoke the still-unsolved Zodiac Killer case. According to Paramount+’s official character breakdown, he taunts police with phone calls threatening to kill innocent citizens across each of New York’s five boroughs, then follows through on those threats to terrorize the entire city.

Gabriel Luna, best known for The Last of Us, joins the cast as Ray Ballard, also known as The Sleepy-Eyed Strangler. His character breaks into victims’ homes and subtly moves their belongings to psychologically unsettle them before eventually killing them. One newly released image shows Luna’s character standing beside Dexter, both apparently focused on someone off-screen, widely believed to be Uma Thurman’s Charley based on previously revealed set footage.

A third new threat comes from Brian Cox, who plays Don Framt, better known as The New York Ripper. Unlike the season’s more actively dangerous killers, Framt is retired and no longer kills, but continues to psychologically torment survivors of his past crimes. The character was first teased in Season 1’s finale, when Dexter discovered a file on him inside the vault of a billionaire serial killer.

The Full Season 2 Cast

Michael C. Hall returns in the title role, alongside Desmond Harrington reprising Lt. Joey Quinn. Uma Thurman is back as Charley, having made her Dexter Universe debut in Season 1. New series regulars this season include Brian Cox, Dan Stevens, Bokeem Woodbine as Capt. Mixon, and Nona Parker Johnson as Fiona Mixon. Gabriel Luna and Krysten Ritter, the latter reprising her Season 1 guest role as Mia, also known as Lady Vengeance, both join in guest-starring capacities.

Dexter: Resurrection is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios. Clyde Phillips serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside fellow executive producers Michael C. Hall, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. John Goldwyn and Sara Colleton also executive produce, along with Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean, and Katrina Mathewson.

A Notable Bit of Trivia

Dan Stevens is no stranger to playing unsettling characters, having previously portrayed a different kind of serial killer in the 2014 film The Guest. He has also recently been cast as Alex Murphy in Prime Video’s in-development RoboCop reboot series, adding an unexpected crossover element to his casting in Dexter’s world.

What’s Next

With Season 2 set to premiere on 30 October 2026, Paramount+ has been steadily rolling out first-look material, including a teaser released on 8 September, as the show shifts its setting from Dexter’s familiar Miami backdrop to the more sprawling landscape of New York City.
