Deool Band 2 Is Proving Marathi Cinema Still Has the Power to Surprise Everyone at the Box Office

When a devotional Marathi drama outperforms a big-budget historical epic in its home market on a Monday, you sit up and take notice. That’s exactly what Deool Band 2 is doing — and the numbers are telling a very confident story.

Deool Band 2: Passed with Flying Colours

In Bollywood, Monday collections are the real litmus test. Weekends are easy — it’s the working-day hold that separates genuine hits from flash-in-the-pan openers.

Deool Band 2 recorded another massive day on Monday, collecting Rs 4 crore — a 30 per cent spike from its opening day, which is a superb performance. The running cumulative now stands at Rs 22.50 crore gross at the Indian box office in just 5 days.

A 30% jump from Day 1 to Day 5 (Monday) is not just good — it’s the kind of growth that signals genuine word-of-mouth momentum, not just advance booking front-loading.

What This Means for the Film’s Future

The devotional Marathi drama is looking to wind up its first week around the Rs 30 crore mark. It is performing even better than Raja Shivaji in Maharashtra, which is its core market, and has huge potential to challenge the top grossers and emerge as a new Industry Hit depending on its second and third week performance.

For director Pravin Tarde, this is another feather in the cap. With the glowing reception of the sequel, the future of this franchise seems very bright, and Tarde will continue his no-flop streak at the box office.

The success of Deool Band 2 underscores the growing strength of Marathi cinema as a commercially viable force — one that increasingly punches well above its weight in the competitive Indian box office landscape.
