A Hold That Demands Respect

On its 2nd Tuesday, Deool Band 2 collected an estimated Rs 3 crore — a drop of only around 10% from Monday. To put that in perspective, most mid-budget films collapse far harder in their second week. This is a film holding like a hit, not fading like one.

The second week cumulative now stands at Rs 23.25 crore in five days, and the film is expected to close week two at around Rs 27–28 crore gross, bringing the total to approximately Rs 65 crore by the weekend.

Can It Become the Highest-Grossing Marathi Film Ever?

This is the question on everyone’s lips — and the answer is a very real yes. Based on current trends, Deool Band 2 has a strong shot at crossing Rs 90 crore, with the coveted Rs 100 crore mark also within striking distance.

If it gets there, it would overtake Marathi cinema giants like Raja Shivaji, Sairat, and Baipan Bhari Deva to become the highest-grossing Marathi film of all time — a genuinely historic achievement for the industry.

The film stars Mohan Joshi, Snehal Tarde, Pravin Tarde, and Mahesh Manjrekar in key roles, and has clearly struck a deep emotional chord with audiences across Maharashtra. Read more about regional Indian cinema’s box office rise on TechnoSports.

Why Is Deool Band 2 Working So Well?

The devotional drama genre has always had a loyal, repeat-viewing audience — particularly in Maharashtra, where temple-based narratives carry deep cultural resonance. Combined with strong word of mouth and virtually no direct competition in its genre space, Deool Band 2 has been able to build its collection steadily day by day, week by week. That’s the hallmark of a genuine blockbuster.
