Not every blockbuster announces itself with fanfare. Deool Band 2 has been doing something far more impressive — quietly, consistently filling theatres week after week. At ₹73.10 crore gross in just 18 days, this devotional Marathi drama is now firmly in conversation as one of the biggest Marathi films of the year.

What the 3rd Weekend Numbers Tell Us

The third weekend brought in ₹8.60 crore, which represents a roughly 50% drop from the previous weekend — a dip that’s fair but slightly below expectations. The good news? Sunday’s ₹3.75 crore shows the film still has breathing room and audience goodwill working in its favour.

The ₹75 crore gross mark is expected to fall by Tuesday, after which the film will settle into its final leg. Trade analysts project a lifetime gross of ₹85–90 crore, which would make Deool Band 2 one of the highest-grossing Marathi films in cinema history.

Where Does It Rank Among Marathi Blockbusters?

This is where things get truly exciting. Based on its current trajectory, Deool Band 2 is expected to overtake Raja Shivaji‘s Marathi-territory collection, potentially finishing as the third-biggest Marathi grosser in the state’s box office history. For context on the rich legacy of Marathi cinema — one of India’s oldest and most culturally significant regional industries — this achievement carries genuine weight.

The film’s consistent performance also underlines a broader truth: devotional content, when executed with sincerity, continues to hold massive appeal in Maharashtra’s heartland market. Deool Band 2 is proof that word-of-mouth and community-driven viewership can sustain a film beyond its opening weekend in ways that no marketing budget can replicate

Director-actor Pravin Tarde, who also stars in the film, has delivered what many are calling a labour of love. The devotional drama clearly struck an emotional chord with audiences, and its second-week hold of ₹27 crore — nearly matching the first — is remarkable by any standard.
