Dell G5 5090 Gaming Desktop series Launched in India

Dell is here with its new G5 gaming desktop series, powered by the latest 9th gen Intel CPUs and NVIDIA RTX graphics. This G5 5090 gaming desktop series was previously was launched in Gamescom 2019 and now it’s here in India.

Dell has a premium gaming desktop line under the name of Alienware but they did lack great gaming PC at a budget. With the new G5 Gaming Desktop range, Dell is targeting more gamers who have a low budget yet they want a great gaming PC.

This gaming desktop line is upgradable for users who always want to stay updated. These are based on Intel’s H370 chipset which means that these CPUs lack the support for overclocking which again reduces the TDP quite significantly.

The company seems to expand its gaming desktop portfolio in India with the latest desktop series. Inheriting the features from the Alienware series, the Dell G5 gaming desktop promises extreme gaming performance.

Specifications

Sadly there’s no AMD option in India and you can only get up to octa-core Intel Core i7-9700K that peaks at 4.9GHz and has 12MB cache. On the other hand, for graphics, you have both the option of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1600-series and GeForce RTX 2000-series GPUs.

Dell uses a single 480 Watt PSU though powering a heavy i9-9700K on the back as well as the latest NVIDIA GTX/RTX GPUs.

On the graphics front, you can configure with both NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU with 4GB of GDDR5 memory and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU with 6GB of GDDR6 graphics memory. The top-end model packs the powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU with 6GB of GDDR6 graphics memory.

You can configure the desktop up to 64 GB of DDR4-2666 memory, a 1 TB M.2 PCIe SSD, a 2 TB hard drive (or use two of them), a Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 network card, Gigabit Ethernet, and Bluetooth 5.0.

Unlike it’s premium Alienware brothers the G5 series do lack liquid cooling but there’s the solid air cooling with heat pipes that ensure the desktop doesn’t heat up that much during prolonged going sessions.

For the ports we have, 1 x microphone jack, 1 x headphone jack, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 1 x USB 3.1 port, and 1 x USB 3.1 Type-C port at the front. Over at the back, it hosts 4 x USB 3.1 ports, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, RJ45 Ethernet port, 1 x LFE surround port, and 1 x side surround port, while the number of HDMI ports vary depending on the model.

The price of Dell G5 5090 gaming desktop series starts at Rs.67,590 and is now available from Dell exclusive stores, authorised multi-brand outlets in the country, and via Dell’s online store.
