Mark your calendars, Bollywood fans! The much-loved romantic comedy “De De Pyaar De 2” starring Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh is making its OTT debut on Netflix this Thursday, January 9, 2026. If you missed this lighthearted family entertainer in theaters, now’s your perfect chance to enjoy it from home.

De De Pyaar De 2 Film Details

What’s the Story About?

This sequel brings back Ajay Devgn as the charming 52-year-old Ashish Mehra, who’s deeply in love with the much younger Ayesha Khurana, played by Rakul Preet Singh. The twist? Ashish is ready to tie the knot, but Ayesha’s modern, progressive parents—portrayed brilliantly by R. Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor—struggle with their 24-year age gap.

The film explores how this unconventional couple navigates family expectations, generational differences, and societal judgment. Unlike typical Bollywood rom-coms, this one flips the script by focusing on the girlfriend’s parents’ perspective rather than the boyfriend’s family drama.

Why You Should Stream It

Released theatrically in November 2025, “De De Pyaar De 2” offers refreshing humor paired with heartwarming moments. The chemistry between Devgn and Singh remains as delightful as in the first installment, while Madhavan’s addition brings unexpected comedic depth to the narrative.

What makes this sequel special is its honest portrayal of modern relationship dynamics. Rather than preaching, it entertains while gently addressing real-world concerns about age-gap relationships. The film’s final 20 minutes reportedly transform it into an absolute laugh riot, making it perfect weekend entertainment.

For fans following Bollywood OTT releases, this marks another quality addition to Netflix’s Indian content library. Ajay Devgn continues his impressive 2025 lineup with upcoming projects like Dhamaal 4, Drishyam 3, and Ranger, while Rakul Preet Singh has Pati Patni Aur Woh Do in development.
