Dakota Johnson Reveals Anne Hathaway’s Hot Dog Cart Surprise on the Verity Set: Thriller Tension On Screen, Belly Laughs Off It

On screen, the two stars of Verity play characters caught in a tense psychological game. Behind the scenes, it sounds like a very different story. In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, Dakota Johnson opened up about working with Anne Hathaway for the first time, and the details are surprisingly wholesome.

A First-Time Pairing With Real Chemistry

Verity marks the first time Johnson and Hathaway share the screen, and Johnson didn’t hide her admiration. She said she has always been a fan of Hathaway and loved working with her. Despite the film’s dark mood, their bond on set was warm, filled with laughter, jokes and what she described as deep life talks between takes. It’s a nice contrast to the unsettling story they’re telling.

The Hot Dog Cart Story

The most memorable moment involved food. Johnson recalled that Hathaway had a hot dog cart brought to the set one day, and she called it great. It’s a small gesture, but it says a lot about the easygoing atmosphere the two cultivated while filming a suspenseful project. Sometimes the best way to bond with a co-star is over a hot dog.

Praise for Hathaway as a Producer

Johnson also highlighted Hathaway’s work behind the camera. She called her an incredible producer who is always game to get the best version of every scene. That commitment seems to have made the set both fun and focused, a balance that’s hard to strike on a psychological thriller.

Dakota Johnson: Verity

What Is Verity About?

Johnson plays Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer who arrives at the remote Crawford estate to ghostwrite for renowned author Verity Crawford, played by Hathaway. After finding disturbing autobiographical notes, Lowen gets caught between unsettling revelations about Verity’s husband Jeremy, played by Josh Hartnett. If you’d like to explore the author behind the story, Colleen Hoover on Wikipedia covers her books and career.

Why It’s Worth the Wait?

The film promises an intense on-screen dynamic, and knowing the cast had such a fun time makes the story even more intriguing. For more Hollywood news and interviews, browse Technosports, or check our latest entertainment coverage while you plan your movie night.
