Dacoit: A Love Story streams on Prime Video from May 8, 2026, in four South Indian languages — making it accessible to a wide audience across the country who may have missed its run in cinemas.
What Is Dacoit: A Love Story About?
At its heart, Dacoit is a raw, emotionally charged story about love, betrayal and revenge. The film follows Haridas — called Hari — a man whose life is upended by a deep personal betrayal. What begins as a desire for vengeance against his former lover Saraswati evolves into something far more dangerous, as Hari gets pulled into a web of robberies and a criminal underworld he can’t easily escape. The fractured dynamic between Hari and Saraswati is the film’s emotional core — two people bound by unresolved wounds and complicated history, drawn back together in the most volatile of circumstances.
The screenplay, co-written by Adivi Sesh and director Shaneil Deo, was simultaneously shot in both Telugu and Hindi to maximise reach from day one — a smart move that reflects the film’s Pan-India ambitions.
Cast & Crew at a Glance
The film features a genuinely impressive ensemble alongside its leads. Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, Sunil Varma, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla all appear in supporting roles. The technical team is equally strong — cinematography by Danush Bhaskar, editing by Kodati Pavan Kalyan, and music by Bheems Ceciroleo.
