CORTIS Makes It Six: “REDRED” Claims Another Music Core Win in a Star-Packed Saturday Lineup

Six trophies. One undeniable song. CORTIS is not letting up — and neither is the crowd going wild every time those beats drop.

On the May 16, 2026 episode of MBC’s Music Core, BigHit Music’s rookie powerhouse CORTIS clinched their sixth music show win for “REDRED,” beating out ILLIT’s “It’s Me” and AKMU’s “Paradise of Rumors” with a commanding 6,830 total points. The win confirms what fans already knew: “REDRED” is one of K-pop’s biggest songs of the year.

Who Are CORTIS? The Rookies Breaking Every Record

CORTIS — short for Color Outside the Lines — is a five-member boy group under BigHit Music (HYBE), making them the third group from the label after BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. The members are Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho, and they debuted in August 2025 with the single “What You Want.”

What makes them genuinely different? Every member contributes to songwriting, production, choreography, and visual direction. No fixed positions. No handed-down concepts. Just five young creatives who build everything from the ground up — a philosophy that flows directly into “REDRED.”

The track is the lead single from their second EP GREENGREEN (released May 4), and its concept is as sharp as it is catchy: red = playing it safe, conforming, holding back. Green = boldness, movement, risk. The two colors set up a tension the group lives by.

Their debut album Color Outside the Lines has already surpassed 2 million copies in global sales — only the second K-pop group ever to hit that milestone with a debut release — and “REDRED” is doing nothing to slow them down.
