Cast Roles and Character Details

Original Cocktail Context and Franchise Continuation

The film marks a fresh chapter in the Cocktail franchise, which originally released in 2012 and starred Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, and Diana Penty. The first film gained popularity for its modern take on relationships and friendship, setting the tone for the sequel’s approach.

Unlike the 2012 film, the sequel introduces a completely new cast, with director Homi Adajania returning to helm the project. The strategic casting with Shahid, Kriti, and Rashmika positions the film as a completely fresh narrative while maintaining the franchise’s core themes of modern relationships and stylish storytelling.

First Look Imagery and Character Presentation

Shahid Kapoor’s poster presents him as the brooding urbanite of the trio, seen leaning casually against a green convertible, sporting a red-and-white patterned shirt paired with dark sunglasses. Rashmika Mandanna’s poster captures a carefree and spontaneous spirit, with the actor leaning out of the car while holding up a smartphone to capture scenic surroundings.

Kriti Sanon’s poster shows her chilling in a car, giving a very Deepika Padukone vibe, suggesting visual continuity with the original film’s aesthetic while establishing distinct character personalities.

Production and Shoot Completion

On January 31, the makers announced that the film’s shooting has been wrapped, with filmmaker Homi Adjania sharing a cheerful photo from the sets as the team gathered to celebrate. The director noted that the film “feels a tad special” while expressing gratitude for cast and crew tolerance of his creative direction.

The film has been shot across four different locations, with major schedules taking place in Sicily, Italy, and in India across Delhi, Chhatarpur, Gurugram’s Sector 58 Mall, and South Delhi.

Financial Details and Industry Scale

Shahid Kapoor is the highest-paid actor in the film, reportedly charging Rs 35 crore, while Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna are said to be charging Rs 15 crore each, reflecting significant industry investment in the sequel’s commercial potential.
