Sometimes the saddest cancellations are the quiet ones. Netflix India officially announced Class — its Hindi adaptation of the hit Spanish series Elite — in late September 2022, and fans had every reason to expect more. Now, that hope is officially gone. whats-on-netflix

How It All Started
The show focused on three working-class students navigating a private high school built for wealthy families. It wasn’t a global smash, but it was a regional hit — spending seven weeks in India’s Top 10 and five weeks each in Bangladesh and Pakistan, numbers strong enough that Netflix renewed it just a month after launch.
Where It Went Wrong
Things looked promising at first. In September 2024, Times of India reported the second season was set to begin shooting “in the coming months.” Then — silence.
The cracks started showing in cast interviews. Ayesha Kanga told Financial Express in October 2025 that the news was bad: “it’s not happening.” Then, Gurfateh Pirzada confirmed it himself on Instagram in February 2026, revealing he learned of the cancellation in the last week of 2024 and fell physically ill from the stress of another project being shelved.
The Final Confirmation
Netflix never issued an official statement, but it quietly removed the “It’s Official: Another Season is Coming” tag from Class’s page — about as clear a signal as fans were going to get. Interestingly, this mirrors what happened with shows like Kaala Paani, which was renewed and then cancelled anyway.
