Chelsea are finally reaping the benefits of their defensive reinforcements

After a few noticeable defensive flaws, Chelsea had made some valuable addition in defense and goal. The addition of experienced Brazilian central back Thiago Silva, left-back Ben Chilwell, and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is looking like a valuable addition now.

Chelsea has kept 5 clean sheets in last 5 matches in all competition. The last time they did the same in 2010 under Carlo Ancelotti who is managing Everton at present. Clean-sheet against Rennes in UEFA Champions League in the midweek was their 5^th in a row.

Last season, in some matches Chelsea defenders and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga had made some awful mistakes. This season the club had learned from the past and don’t want the repeat of the same mistake.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was so delighted after breaking the 10-year-old club record. He said, “There are always different parts to that.”

“Work we do at the training ground which we’ve always done, we’ve been very focused, individuals have come in and made really good performances in that period, great level of concentration and focus which we’ve always been striving for and then the collective is a reflection of that.”

“It’s something that has been driven by players as it always will be and we must never relax on that point. We must keep go.”.

Chelsea are now at 7^th place in the Premier League table with 12 points from their first 7 games. They are just 4 points behind the leaders. They will now face Sheffield United at home this weekend.
