Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Season 1: Everything Coming in December

Treyarch is pulling out all the stops. Call of Duty’s Black Ops 7 Season 1 is being billed as the biggest seasonal update in franchise history, packed with six multiplayer maps, seven new weapons, and three Zombies experiences. With the game launching November 14, players won’t wait long for this massive content drop. Here’s your complete breakdown of what’s coming.

Call of Duty Season 1 Overview

When Does Season 1 Actually Drop?

While Activision hasn’t confirmed an exact date, expect Black Ops 7 Season 1 in early to mid-December 2025. Based on Black Ops 6’s three-week post-launch timeline for Season 1, we’re looking at December 4 as the most likely release date.

However, there’s an early treat: Nuketown arrives November 20—just six days after launch. This gives players time to master the base game before the season deluge hits.

Six New Multiplayer Maps Breakdown

Season 1 brings a mix of nostalgia and fresh battlegrounds:

Classic Remakes

Meltdown – The beloved Black Ops 2 map returns with its signature Pakistan power plant setting. Expect close-quarters chaos mixed with long sightlines perfect for sniper duels.

Standoff – Another BO2 classic, this Myanmar-based map features the iconic center plaza gunfights that defined a generation of COD players. Balanced three-lane design guarantees fast-paced action.

Yakei – While technically new, this Japan-based map shows striking similarities to Black Ops 2’s Vertigo, suggesting it’s a spiritual successor or reimagining.

Brand New Maps

Nuketown – The most iconic Call of Duty map ever gets visual upgrades matching Black Ops 7’s color palette. The layout remains unchanged because you don’t fix what ain’t broken.

Fate – Set in a Menendez compound in Nicaragua, this map was teased in BO7’s gameplay reveal trailer. Expect cartel-themed architecture and tropical warfare.

Utopia – An abandoned Guild facility in Australia provides the setting. Desert landscapes meet high-tech ruins in this fresh battlefield.

Odysseus – Paying homage to the Black Ops 2 campaign mission of the same name, this map brings story elements into multiplayer mayhem.

Seven New Weapons (Three Confirmed)

Treyarch is adding seven weapons to Black Ops 7’s arsenal, though only three have been revealed:

Maddox (Assault Rifle) – This bullpup AR last appeared in Black Ops 4. Known for its rapid fire rate and excellent handling, the Maddox excels at mid-range engagements. Expect it to compete with the game’s top-tier ARs.

Crossbow – A single-shot precision weapon firing bolts. You’ll need to reload after every shot, making accuracy crucial. Perfect for stealth players and trick-shot enthusiasts.

Ballistic Knife – This melee/ranged hybrid occupies your lethal equipment slot. Launch knives at enemies or use it for close-quarters combat. A callback to classic Black Ops gameplay.

The remaining four weapons are still under wraps, but expect at least one SMG, one LMG, and possibly a shotgun or sniper rifle to round out the arsenal.

Zombies Content: Three New Experiences

Zombie slayers have plenty to celebrate with three distinct maps coming in Season 1:

Astra Malorum (Round-Based Map) – The star of the Zombies update. This brand-new round-based experience promises the classic Zombies formula: progressive difficulty, Easter eggs, and narrative storytelling. Details remain scarce, but Treyarch teased it will “deliver something special.”

Exit 115 (Survival Map) – Carved from the main launch map Ashes of the Damned, this smaller-scale survival experience focuses on endless waves without the complexity of round-based maps. Perfect for quick Zombies sessions.

Zarya Cosmodrome (Survival Map) – Another survival slice from Ashes of the Damned. The cosmodrome setting suggests space-age environments and Soviet-era aesthetics—classic Zombies territory.

The launch experience Ashes of the Damned serves as the main Zombies map on November 14, so Season 1’s additions massively expand undead content.

Why This Season Matters

Treyarch calling this “the biggest season in Black Ops history” isn’t just marketing speak. Six multiplayer maps in one season is unprecedented—most COD seasons deliver 2-3 maps. Combined with seven weapons and three Zombies maps, the content volume rivals some game launches.

The emphasis on Black Ops 2 remakes also signals Treyarch’s understanding of what fans want. Meltdown and Standoff consistently rank among the franchise’s best maps, and bringing them to modern COD with updated graphics while preserving their layouts is fan service done right.
