The Big Day Is Here — ARIRANG Releases March 20

BTS is officially launching their first full-group comeback cycle in nearly four years, beginning March 20, 2026, with the release of their fifth studio album ARIRANG at 1 PM KST.

The album marks their first release in over three years, following a hiatus during which every member completed mandatory military service — with the last four members, RM, V, Jimin, and Jung Kook, discharged in early June 2025. The A.V. Club

What Is ARIRANG and Why Does It Matter?

Arirang is Korea’s most iconic folk song and a UNESCO-recognised symbol of national identity, blending themes of deep longing with resilient joy. For BTS, it serves as the title of their March 2026 comeback album, honouring their Korean roots while reflecting the members’ journey through separation and triumphant return. Prime Video

The album features collaborations with acclaimed global producers including Diplo, Ryan Tedder, Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, and Mike WiLL Made-It — with all seven members contributing to the songwriting and creative process, making it one of BTS’s most personal and artistically unified projects to date. The album is named after the legendary Arirang folk song, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity representing the soul of the Korean people — making the title choice as poetic as it is powerful.
