Fulham have re-signed former Brazil international Willian just six months after his departure from the club. The 36-year-old winger, who previously played for Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League, has committed to the London-based side until the end of the season.

His return comes after a brief spell at Greek club Olympiacos, where he moved in September before becoming a free agent in January. “I’m really happy to be back here,” Willian said in an official statement on Fulham’s website. “I’m fully motivated to get on the pitch and do things well for this club.”

Brazilian Veteran Signs Short-Term Deal as A Familiar Face Returns to Craven Cottage

Willian initially joined Fulham in 2022 and became an integral part of the squad under Marco Silva. During his first stint, he made 58 Premier League appearances and contributed nine goals. His experience and technical prowess played a crucial role in the club’s success, making his return a significant boost for the team.

The Brazilian forward’s ability to operate as a left winger or attacking midfielder gives Fulham additional depth in the final third. With his return, Silva now has an experienced option to bolster the squad, especially with Harry Wilson sidelined due to a long-term injury.

Strengthening Fulham’s Attack

Willian’s signing adds much-needed depth to Fulham’s attacking department as they push to maintain their strong position in the Premier League. Currently sitting in ninth place, the Cottagers are aiming for a top-half finish, and Willian’s experience at the highest level could prove vital in achieving that goal.

His technical skills, ability to create goal-scoring opportunities, and composure under pressure make him a valuable asset. Fulham’s attack will benefit from his vision, passing, and ability to break defensive lines.

A Move Dependent on International Clearance

While the deal has been confirmed, Willian’s official return to Premier League action is subject to international clearance. The club is hopeful that all formalities will be completed swiftly so that he can be available for selection as soon as possible.

“I’m completely happy, my family’s happy,” Willian added. “It’s a great opportunity.”

Marco Silva’s Reinforcements Amid Injury Concerns

Manager Marco Silva has had to navigate squad setbacks, with winger Harry Wilson’s long-term injury affecting Fulham’s attacking depth. Willian’s return provides an immediate solution, bringing in a player who understands the system and can seamlessly reintegrate into the squad.

His Premier League experience, combined with his leadership qualities, will be an asset to Fulham’s push for a strong finish in the second half of the season. Fans at Craven Cottage will be eager to see the Brazilian maestro back in action, hoping he can replicate the form he showcased during his previous spell at the club.
