Opposites Who Conquered Bollywood Together: Kajol & Ajay Devgn’s 27-Year Love Story That Still Gives Us Hope

In a world where celebrity relationships barely survive a headline cycle, Kajol and Ajay Devgn have been quietly, steadily proving everyone wrong for over two and a half decades. No dramatic splits, no tabloid wars — just two completely opposite people choosing each other, every single day.

And honestly? That’s the most romantic story Bollywood has ever told.

How It All Began — An Extrovert, An Introvert & One Film Set

Their romance bloomed on the sets of their 1995 film Hulchul. While Kajol was initially unimpressed by her co-star’s quiet nature, they eventually became friends and then lovers. The world called them the “unlikely pair” and gave them a year — maybe two, at most.

What makes their bond so extraordinary is the sheer contrast. Kajol is electric, unfiltered, and fills every room with laughter. Ajay is the quiet storm — composed, reserved, and deliberate. In psychology, this complementary dynamic is well-documented as one of the strongest foundations for a lasting bond.

Love That Weathered Real Storms

Their journey hasn’t always been red carpets and awards. They also braved testing times together when Kajol suffered two consecutive miscarriages during the release of her iconic film Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum. That kind of shared grief either breaks couples apart — or binds them in ways no happy moment can.

For Kajol and Ajay, it clearly did the latter.

On their 27th wedding anniversary this year, the couple shared a photo together with a message that perfectly captures their relationship dynamic — equal parts love, humour, and mutual respect.

Still Going Strong in 2026

Both remain powerhouses in their own right. Kajol is set to return in Maharagni: Queen of Queens, while Ajay has an enviable lineup including Golmaal 5, Drishyam 3, and Dhamaal 4. Two superstars, one household, zero competition — that’s the real secret.
