LaLiga president reveals Barcelona are not currently negotiating deals for Neymar or Lautaro Martinez

The football leagues have been suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic. So the clubs are utilising this time off the pitch to plan for the next season. Many transfer speculations have begun recently.

One of the biggest transfer speculations going around is that Barcelona wants to resign their former player Neymar. They also want to bring Inter striker Lautaro Martinez to the Camp Nou as a long-term replacement for the ageing Suarez.

Many people surrounding the clubs have given their opinions about the transfers but there have not been any official confirmations from the clubs or players.

LaLiga president Javier Tebas has now revealed that Barcelona are not negotiating any deals for Neymar or Martinez and they have other priorities amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Tebas told the Adea Conecta forum on Friday: “It’s not true that Barca are currently in negotiation processes in the signing of these two players.”

“They are most focused on when the season can resume as opposed to new acquisitions. There will be swap deals in the short-term future, but transfers are not high on the priority of European clubs at present.”

“They want to limit the damage caused by the halt in activity, but everything is still on hold. No Neymar nor Lautaro, these names are not high on the priority list at present for Barca. The club at present don’t have the capacity to make these signings, at present it’s completely impossible.”

NVIDIA will be launching Ampere GPUs on May 14th at GTC 2020

After a major disappointment as NVIDIA couldn’t host the event in March, the GTC 2020 will be held on May 14th 2020. It will be the platform where they will be launching their new Ampere GPUs based on the new 7nm process.

It will be the successor to the RTX-20 GPUs based out of the Turing architecture. NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang remarked in February that GTC 2020 “will not disappoint” and the company has further clarified that we should “get Amped” for Ampere GPUs.

At the GTC 2020, Huang will host a pre-recorded keynote address on YouTube at 06:00 PDT. The event won’t be that boring even though being an online event this time as it includes live webinars and recorded talks, for which you can register on the GTC website.

The press release via Videocardz states that:

Huang will highlight the company’s latest innovations in AI, high-performance computing, data science, autonomous machines, healthcare and graphics during the recorded keynote. Participants will be able to view the keynote on-demand at www.youtube.com/nvidia.

The GTC Digital event has attracted more than 45,000 registered attendees who have participated in 300 recorded talks and dozens of instructor-led sessions.

Real Madrid still want to sign PSG star Neymar

Neymar is certainly one of the best players. After Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi, Neymar is there at the top with Mbappe. Real Madrid always wants to sign the best players, so it’s not surprising to see Real Madrid still wants to sign former Barcelona player Neymar.

Wagner Ribeiro, Neymar’s former agent has admitted that Real Madrid unsuccessfully attempted bringing Neymar to the club several times.

Ribeiro spoke to ESPN’s ‘Canal do Nicola’: “Real Madrid called me on a number of occasions because Florentino dreamed about signing Neymar. I was with him last year, in May, in his office, and he told me then he still dreamed about signing Neymar.”

“We received offers from all over the world. We received an official offer from Chelsea when we were in New York, the day Neymar made his debut for Brazil in 2010. We studied the offer but didn’t decide anything. On that occasion, like in many others, we passed it onto Neymar and his father to decide.
Later they were offers from Bayern Munich, Juventus – and we even had a meeting in Turin.”

According to Ribeiro, Neymar is better than Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He told: “He’s a lot better than Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. I’ve never seen Neymar play badly. He always made the difference at Santos, despite getting kicked, as he either scored or assisted. We saw that at both Barcelona and PSG.”

Ribeiro has also revealed Neymar’s current transfer price. He said: “It will cost you €164m to sign Neymar today. That price didn’t exist a year ago.”

Facebook official: Messenger Rooms announced, will support Video Calls up to 50 members

Finally Facebook has responded to the rising popularity of the Zoom app amid lockdown for COVID-19. Zoom is being used by several organizations for creating an online conference gathering. As reported by several agencies Zoom is not a safe platform for its users as millions of users’ data is being hacked by hackers from Zoom.

Facebook is now coming into the scene with a new feature known as Messenger Room, an innovative idea to rival Zoom and to provide utmost security unlike the later. Though it is still unknown if we can share our screen just like Zoom and the latest feature of Messenger app during a video call. This is the main thing needed during a conference group call for an organization.

Messenger Rooms can be created by any individual or within a Facebook group. The creator of the group can see, add, and remove anyone anytime. Interestingly the Room can accommodate up to 50 members within it with no time limit, unlike Zoom.

The creator can lock the room totally anytime to prevent the addition of any participants. Although the group room will remain open for its members by default. If anyone joins a Room through the Messenger app, they can play with AR effects and new features like immersive backgrounds and mood lighting in it.

The features of Rooms are yet not “end-to-end encrypted” as “there are significant challenges” while providing such advanced and complex encryption for video calling with large groups of people. Messenger Room content is encrypted between participants and the Facebook servers, that are “placed in only a handful of countries that have strong rule of law”. The company also promised that it will not monitor or record the video calls.

Facebook is still actively working in the process of “end-to-end encryption” for more security purposes as it is a great challenge for the company while managing it over a large group of people. Messenger Rooms feature is rolling out in few countries this week and will roll out for the rest of the countries in the coming weeks.

The Red team is enjoying a chunk of market share in the desktop processor market as well as in the server market. With its Ryzen 4000 APUs, it has stormed the world with its incredible performance with its efficient 7nm node.

So, AMD is again hitting hard against Intel with its price-to-performance ratio in the mobile processors as well. However, the supplies of the new Ryzen 4000 APUs are quite limited which is delaying laptops to hit the market at an extensive amount.

When all of the big laptop OEMs are planning to feature Ryzen 4000 APUs, Dell is thinking of the future. Dell has not announced any major laptops featuring these APUs but surely will soon.

On top of that Dell’s heavy interest in AMD’s tech has accidentally leaked out, Dell is planning to bring laptops featuring the processors beyond the current Renoir family.

DisEnchant and uzzi38, who are AnandTech Forum members, have reported the information regarding future Dell laptops powered by Cezanne APUs and Navi23 GPUs. DisEnchant has explained that Cezanne will indeed be Renoir APU’s successor.

Even though it’s being made out of a refined 7 nm FP6 version (pin-compatible with Renoir), it should still offer “significant uplift” in performance due to the newer Zen 3 cores. Uzzi38 has pointed out that Rembrandt was the one that was supposed to be released after Renoir. This suggests that Rembrandt may now be shifted to 5 nm process.

This member DisEnchant even commented that the Dell laptops could feature an all-in-one package combining the CPU and the iGPU together. According to the user, the Navi23 GPU, which was previously thought to be the big Navi desktop GPU, might receive a smaller laptop-only iGPU variant based on Navi2X with RDNA 2 architecture.

The user Uzzi38 did post a table which details the display information for the Cezanne-H powered 15.6-inch Dell laptops. The laptop’s include 3 FHD displays and a QHD screen :

  • FHD 120 Hz, 250 nit, 45% NTSC
  • FHD 165 Hz, sRGB-100%, 3 ms
  • FHD 360 Hz, sRGB-100%, 1 ms
  • QHD 240 Hz, DCI-P3 90% (HDR), 1 ms

Apart from the first one, all the other displays look promising as till date all of the great laptop displays were reserved for Intel, it seems the time is about change. So, if the pandemic doesn’t affect much then these Cezanne-H powered laptops by Dell will make its way in early Q2 2021.

La Liga will be played behind closed doors until 2021

The Spanish football league will be played without fans, behind closed doors until 2021 according to ESPN because of the Coronavirus pandemic which has a threat of returning as the second wave.

The report even claims that La Liga clubs have already been informed of this decision. The stadiums will only reopen “under strict safety measures” from January 2021. But it seems unclear when the current La Liga season will resume.

ESPN reports that the Spanish competition could recommence in June. The Guardian, on the other hand, reports that La Liga is hoping that teams could return to training in the second week of May which will again put things in better place slowly and steadily

The training will have three stages – individual, small group and full team. The second stage means that players will be living away from their families in isolation.

To ensure safety, the players will also undergo “daily serology antibody tests”, so if any positive tests will mean that the player has to be isolated.

Sport has reported that Barcelona players, as well as staffs, will undergo the first tests on Tuesday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Interestingly, they will be tested without having to get out of their cars and then they can go home.

Today Facebook made an official announcement where they revealed two new news regarding their messaging apps – WhatsApp and Messenger. And now some changes have been made in it and can be seen soon in all the beta versions of both.

The rumors which surfaced a few weeks ago claiming that Facebook and WhatsApp are working on a project to extend the number of participants limits in group Video or Audio calls are true. Facebook officially announced today that the limit of the number of participants for WhatsApp group audio and video call will be extended up to 8 participants.

Previously the maximum limits of participants for both audio and video call was up to 4 participants and was “end-to-end encrypted” which means that no one except the participants can access the data or listen and view them in it, not even Facebook or WhatsApp.

WhatsApp beta versions with this feature have started rolling out. But unfortunately, there is no word from the company that will be the maximum time limit of the calls with the maximum number of participants and if would be any time limit either. Facebook hasn’t revealed the official launch time of this feature, but we guess this will come earlier than we think.

NVIDIA GeForce NOW gains Ubisoft’s support but loses 4 major publishers

Cloud gaming is evolving every day and new players are coming rapidly, one of the biggest cloud gaming service these days is the NVIDIA GeForce Now. It is known to have a wide variety of games and it’s low latency and rich graphics is making the platform popular with days.

But the graphics giant company is facing new setbacks every month as it previously lost a few key publishers like Bethesda, Activision Blizzard and 2K Games. So it announced that they would be launching a new game every week since then.

Now it seems NVIDIA is having some hard times in keeping the publishers in their library. GeForce NOW did feature games made by Codemasters, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Klei Entertainment and XBOX Game Studios and these 4 publishers have pulled all of their games from its platform.

This is a huge setback because a lot of genre of games will not be available any more. More players in the cloud gaming service mean more competition so Xbox has pulled off much due to the fact that they will be launching their own cloud gaming service soon and pursuing other publishers as well.

However, there’s good news as well because they have managed to bag Ubisoft into their cloud gaming service. Ubisoft has added a total of 36 new games to its portfolio including titles such as The Assassin’s Creed series and Dungeon Defenders.

Chris Early, senior vice president of partnerships at Ubisoft, commented:

Ubisoft fully supports NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW with complete access to our PC games from the Ubisoft Store or any supported game stores. We believe it’s a leading-edge service that gives current and new PC players a high-end experience with more choice in how and where they play their favorite games.

There surrounds a lot of uncertainty over the future of Nelson Semedo staying at Barcelona this season. The right-back did not have a promising season and so the board wants to get rid of him at this summer transfer window.

Although Semedo has helped quite a few times in attack through the right flank his defensive duties have been put into question many times. So the Catalans have set €45 million price tag for the right-back.

Nelson Semedo open to offers to leave Barcelona

He was supposed to be renewed his contract in the upcoming season but due to this pandemic, the economic crisis has affected the club and so have the contract renewal. So, instead of asking a new contract, his agent Jorge Mendes has asked for a move.

Mendes has also asked Barcelona to name their asking price for the Portugal international. So the board has told he would be allowed to leave if an interested club comes up with €45m according to Sport.

The report also clarified that Semedo will not be short on offers as giant clubs like Manchester City and Juventus are interested to land him.

Also, the previous reports of a swapping deal between Semedo for City’s Joao Cancelo still remains an option as well.

Ajax denied 2019-20 Eredivisie title despite leading on goal difference

The KNVB has officially announced that it is impossible to complete the 2019-20 season. All the public events, including sporting events, have been banned in the country till September due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Therefore, KNVB has now cancelled the 2019-20 season. They have decided that there will be no champions. Cambuur who topped the second tier will also not be promoted to the Eredivisie, as there will be no promotions and relegations as well.

Ajax was on course to win their 35th Eredivisie title. They were level with AZ on points but had a better goal difference. As per the rules, the goal difference comes into play when two teams are on the same point. But Ajax has been denied the title as KNVB has announced there will be no champions.

This is the first time that Eredivisie will have no champions at the end of a season since it started in 1956.

The Ajax players are quite frustrated and angry with the decision of not being crowned 2019-20 Eredivisie champions.

Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech, who will join Chelsea at the end of this season told AD: “Come on, what nonsense I have heard. We are at the top anyway.”

“All those stories that AZ deserved more because they won twice against us. So the goal difference, as it always is, doesn’t count now? B*, of course. How did PSV become champion in 2007? Exactly, on one goal.”

“That we are not official champions, well, of course I would also have preferred to have won that on the field, but if you have to choose one club as champion then that would be Ajax to me.”

Ajax captain Dusan Tadic said: “It is what you agree on. The goal difference would count in a tie. If you had agreed that the head-to-head result would count then AZ would have been the champion for me.”

“I am a pro and want to win every trophy. That’s what I do it for. Now I have lost a prize, that’s how it feels.”
