The Spain World Cup winning captain, Iker Casillas has signed a new two-year contract with Porto. He is also convinced that his Porto teammate Eder Militao will succeed at his old club Real Madrid.
Iker Casillas has won every trophy possible as a football player. He has won the 2010 World Cup with Spain and also two EURO Cups in 2008 and 2012. He has 167 appearances for Spain. He also won every trophy possible at the club level with his old club Real Madrid, including the UEFA Champions League and LaLiga. Casillas joined Porto in July 2015. He is in his fourth season at Estadio do Dragao, where he has won the Primeira Liga and Portuguese Super Cup since his arrival. He will turn 38 in May and his new deal – one year plus an option for another – could take him to the age of 40, when Casillas says he will retire from professional football. Casillas has also been honoured by including his name in the LaLiga Icons recently.
Iker Casillas at LaLiga Icons event
Casillas told the club’s official website after Wednesday’s contract announcement: “Today is a very special day. I feel at home in this club. When they gave me the chance to renew, I did not hesitate. My commitment is with the club, with the city, with the president and my fellow team-mates. I want to stay here until I finish my career as a footballer. I have great memories of great matches for Porto. The victory in Luz last season, by the way it was achieved, is perhaps the one that had the biggest mark on me. When I came here, many thought it would be to play a year or two and finish. I have only words of gratitude to this club – not only to the club but to the city itself.”
Porto president Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa said the 2010 World Cup winner continues the club’s tradition of goalkeeping excellence. He said: “Casillas is a world football figure. Porto has always had great goalkeepers. Iker Casillas is in line with the extraordinary goalkeepers Porto has always had and we are sure that we will always continue with great goalkeepers.”
Eder Militao signed for Porto in August 2018 and has already caught the eye of the footballing world. Real Madrid has announced the signing of the 21-year-old Porto defender, Eder Militao on 14th March, for a reported €50million, with the transfer to officially go through on 1st July.
Casillas told reporters at the LaLiga Icons event: “It’s fantastic management by Real Madrid. They’ve taken a very good player with a huge future. I’m convinced he’ll succeed at Real Madrid. Porto gambled on him when he was very young and he showed a big personality. He’s very noble and wants to do things the right way, I’m just a little afraid for his adaptation because in Spain it’s different. I always tell him that when he arrives in Madrid, he’ll realise what it means.”
When asked about Zinedine Zidane’s return to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Casillas went on to back his former teammate to succeed again. He said: “I love Zidane returning. I’m very happy about it, but it’s clear that his arrival, like [Santiago] Solari’s before, means that things haven’t been going well. But Zidane’s arrival is a reason for hope and energy for all Madridistas after everything he achieved in recent years.”

German champions Bayern Munich are reportedly leading the race to sign the Real Madrid winger, as Gareth Bale is almost certain to leave the Bernabeu in the summer.
Gareth Bale has a contract till 2022 with Real Madrid, but he has fallen out of favour with the Real Madrid fans. He was tipped to succeed Cristiano Ronaldo in the Bernabeu. But he has miserably failed to fill the huge gap left by Ronaldo when he left for Juventus in the summer of 2018. It’s pretty much a tough task to replace someone with Ronaldo’s stature. But still, he was expected to lead Real Madrid to some extent at least. His inability to do so along with his frequent injuries has left the Real Madrid faithfuls frustrated. Now with Zidane back and signing Hazard finally looking like reality and the form of teenage sensation Vinicius Junior leading to an extended period on the bench, it’s almost certain that Gareth Bale will leave the club in the summer.
According to TEAMtalk, the Bavarians were made aware of Bale’s availability during talks over the future of James Rodríguez, whose two-year loan deal comes to an end in the summer and Madrid are reportedly keen to sell him. With Franck Ribery’s future uncertain and Arjen Robben leaving the club in the summer, Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac could see Bale as a viable option to bolster his squad’s attacking options.
An unnamed source told TEAMtalk: “This is a transfer that appeals to all sides, and to the player himself — who wouldn’t want to play for Bayern Munich? Real and Bayern have a good relationship, and this a deal that could get done.”
Bale is one of the highest paid players in world football, and Bayern Munich are one of the few clubs who could get close to agreeing on a deal with the Welshman. He reportedly has high wages, as high as approximately €409,000 per week. It is unclear what type of transfer fee or loan agreement would be in place for Real Madrid to move Bale, who reportedly also has a release clause of €517M, which would assuredly be waived in any transaction.
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing Gareth Bale, but can they afford Bale’s high wages is what remains to be seen. Former Portsmouth and Birmingham City boss Harry Redknapp suggested that Bale would have to take a hit on his wages should he want a return to the Premier League. He told Mirror: “It’s not nice when you get grief from the fans. Nobody likes to get grief like that and I’m sure it’s no different for Gareth. He is a fantastic player, who can play anywhere, and it would be no surprise if the top clubs like Man United and Spurs were interested in signing him. But on the wages he is said to be on, he would probably have to take a pay cut. Take, for example, if he was to go back to Spurs. It could create a problem because someone like a Harry Kane is there and is the top man. He’d perhaps want the same type of wages if it was being offered. So, that’s a decision Gareth might feel he wants to make if he does want to come back. Let’s face it, he’s made a lot of money playing football and could no doubt afford to.”
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is in no hurry to sanction a sale of Bale as he is very fond of the player, but returning coach Zinedine Zidane is open to his departure – given the club are already focused on completing a deal for Eden Hazard this summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo faces an improper conduct charge from UEFA before Juventus resume their bid for Champions League glory against Ajax next month.
European football’s governing body UEFA charged Ronaldo with “improper conduct” on Monday and he could now face a ban from his side’s Champions League quarterfinal final first leg against Ajax.
Ronaldo scripted a fairytale comeback from being 0-2 down in 1st leg to win the Round of 16 tie 3-2. He scored twice with towering headers before converting a penalty in the game’s dying minutes to send Juventus through to the quarter-finals. After completing his hat-trick, Ronaldo repeatedly thrust his hips in the direction of the crowd in celebration. The ‘cojones’ celebration was thought to be a jibe at Atletico boss Diego Simeone, who celebrated in similar fashion after Atletico’s 1st leg victory.
An official statement read: “Following a disciplinary investigation conducted by a UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector, disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Champions League round of 16 match between Juventus Football Club and Club Atletico de Madrid, played on 12 March in Italy. Charges against Juventus Football Club: – Improper conduct of player Cristiano Ronaldo – Art. 11 (2) (b) and Art. 11 (2) (d) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will deal with this case at its next meeting on 21 March.”
If UEFA founds Ronaldo guilty then the 33-year-old could face a ban for one to three games, but a fine is more likely. Simeone was also charged for his gesture against Juventus in the 1st leg and was subsequently fined €20,000, rather than serving a touchline ban. So Juventus will also expect the striker to receive a similar punishment.

Google Pixel 4 looks more or less the same as the latest Samsung Galaxy S10 series.
Google Pixel 4 is the upcoming smartphone from Google and will be featuring a punch hole display same as we have seen in the Samsung Galaxy S10 series. Previous year Google had launched the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, which had an awkward notch which came way down into the screen itself. According to many, the notch in that device looks very different and awkward and people are not liking it very much. The brand has done this kind of designing because they had to fit two front-facing cameras at that cut-out. Well this cutout for an extra camera was not necessary to an extent because of a reason that Google makes one of the best cameras in the market. One single lens in a Pixel device can click amazing pictures far better than few other dual lens devices in the market right now. Though the Google Pixel 3 devices had some issues priorly after launch regarding the display, but over all they are a good device in hand.
According to some renders and some leaks we can be sure that Google Pixel 4 is going to have a punch hole display just as same as the Samsung Galaxy S10 series. But we were expecting something different in this case, but pictures show that Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL is going to have the punch hole display located at the top corner. One hole for the Pixel 4 and two for the Pixel 4 XL. For some this is quite good looking than the previous notch design beacuse the punch hole is at one side of the whole screen and do not disturb the whole display, remains at one corner. Let’s have a look at the specifications of these devices.
5.8 inches and 6.5 inches Quad-HD AMOLED display

Google Pixel 4 Price :
Google’s two new smartphones coming later this year will likely match Samsung and Apple when it comes to pricing. These are premium high-end Android phones with the latest hardware, software, great cameras and all the boxes checked in the spec sheet.
Basically, this new Pixel will still be expensive, coming in around $799 or more. Then, we believe the bigger and better Pixel 4 XL offering more cameras and longer battery life will again be around $899 or more, then another $100 extra for those looking to get a model with more RAM and extra storage, like a 128 or 256GB model. These won’t be cheap.
Availability :
Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL is said to be announced at early October of this year and will come into sale from the end of the month or early November. This is somewhat as per the leaks we know and can expect something even more from Google in this year.

The 2019 season of the Indian Premier League will be the 12th season of the IPL. Here’s all you need to know about this season’s IPL before it starts from 23rd March.
On 8 January 2019, the BCCI confirmed that the tournament will start on 23 March and take place entirely in India. At one point, other countries were considered as host due to the Indian general elections. On 19 February 2019, the BCCI released the time table of first 17 matches and rest of the schedule will be announced after the announcement of the Lok Sabha 2019 election dates. All teams will play a minimum of 4 matches while Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore will play 5 matches. Similarly, all teams will play two home and two away matches while DC will play three home matches and RCB will play three away matches.
Delhi Daredevils have been renamed as the Delhi Capitals, the franchise announced on 4th December, 2018. During the function for the announcement of their new name, the franchise also released a new logo.
Chennai Super Kings have retained the bulk of the squad beforehand, so CSK had a minor role to play during the latest auction. However, they did bring in a valuable addition to their Indian pace arsenal in the form of Mohit Sharma. He had essayed key roles for the team in the past.
Purse at the start of the auction: Rs 8.4 crore Players bought in the auction: 2 Purse at the end of the auction: Rs. 3.2 Crore Squad strength: 25
Squad: Retained: MS Dhoni (C), Suresh Raina, Deepak Chahar, KM Asif, Karn Sharma, Dhruv Shorey, Faf du Plessis, M Vijay, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Billings, Mitchell Santner, David Willey, Dwayne Bravo, Shane Watson, Lungi Ngidi, Imran Tahir, Kedar Jadhav, Ambati Rayudu, Harbhajan Singh, N Jagadeesan, Shardul Thakur, Monu Kumar, Chaitanya Bishnoi Bought: Mohit Sharma (Rs 5 crore), Ruturaj Gaikwad (Rs 20 lakh)
Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals have retained 14 of their previous players and acquired Shikhar Dhawan during the transfer window. Delhi’s auction outing was all about filling the gaps. They had let go of overseas names like Glenn Maxwell, Jason Roy and Liam Plunkett. They made up for it by roping in solid options like Keemo Paul, Sherfane Rutherford and Colin Ingram, which blends well with the young Indian names in the setup. Ishant Sharma’s presence also provides an experienced lending hand to the pace department, which has talented domestic pacers like Nathu Singh and Bandaru Ayyappa along with big overseas names like Kagiso Rabada and Trent Boult. Overall, a balanced squad which should hold Delhi Capitals in good stead to set their poor record in the IPL straight.
Purse at the start of the auction: Rs 25.50 crore Players bought in the auction: 10 Purse at the end of the auction: Rs. 7.7 Crore Squad strength: 25
Kings XI Punjab were heavily dependant on the top order in IPL 2018, especially KL Rahul. Their shortcomings with the middle order eventually cost them a spot in the playoffs. In order to address the imbalance, they chose to refurbish their squad by only retaining10 players before the auction. They have let go several Indian names, including Yuvraj Singh, Manoj Tiwary, Axar Patel and Mohit Sharma. Having secured Mandeep Singh via a transfer, KXIP concentrated on acquiring finishing options – Moises Henriques and Sam Curran being a couple of them. In Nicholas Pooran, an explosive batsman, they also got a ‘keeping option and by getting Varun Chakaravarthy, they also went for an extra mystery element to complement Mujeeb. Hardus Vilojen and Mohammed Shami bring their experience to the pace department.
Purse at the start of the auction: Rs. 36.30 crore Players bought in the auction: 13 Purse at the end of the auction: Rs. 3.7 Crore Squad strength: 23
Squad: Retained: KL Rahul, Chris Gayle, Andrew Tye, Mayank Agarwal, Ankit Rajpoot, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Karun Nair, David Miller and Ravichandran Ashwin Bought: Moises Henriques (Rs 1 crore), Nicholas Pooran (Rs 4.2 crore), Varun Chakaravarthy (Rs 8.4 crore), Sam Curran (Rs 7.2 crore), Mohammad Shami (Rs 4.2 crore), Sarfaraz Khan (Rs 25 lakh), Hardus Viljoen (Rs 75 lakh), Arshdeep Singh (Rs 20 lakh), Darshan Nalkande (Rs 30 lakh), Prabhsimran Singh (Rs 4.8 crore), Agnivesh Ayachi (Rs 20 lakh), Harpreet Brar (Rs 20 lakh), Murugan Ashwin (Rs 20 lakh)
Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata Knight Riders had a lot of work to do going into the auction. They had lot of loopholes to fill – carrying forward from the disappointing returns of their last year’s auction. Yet again, like they do in a lot of auctions, made some surprise buys. It is a testimony to their strategy team as to how they manage to deliver results with some surprising picks. While Shrikant Mundhe and Nikhil Naik were outright surprising picks, they managed some good foreign picks – a department that needed serious loading – in Lockie Ferguson, Anrich Nortje and Joe Denly. Going for two outright quicks could also be an indication of how they could be planning for the upcoming season. While they got most of their foreign picks easy and cheap, they got into an intense tussle for Carlos Brathwaite. Having paid Rs. 5 Crore for the Windies all-rounder, it remains to be seen if he can find a place in the starting XI. While KKR strengthened their pace and all-round department, they probably missed a batsman, going home with more than Rs. 6 Crore in their purse.
Purse at the start of the auction: Rs. 15.20 crore Players bought in the auction: 8 Purse at the end of the auction: Rs. 6.05 Crore Squad strength: 21
Mumbai Indians had little work to do at the auction as they have retained their core group of players. Two of their biggest investments were in the old warhorses – Lasith Malinga and Yuvraj Singh. While the Sri Lankan slinger slots in directly as the death bowling specialist for Mustafizur Rahman, who was released, Yuvraj Singh might struggle to find a place in the starting XI. All the other buys, barring Barinder Sran, are young players – most promising of them being Punjab’s Anmolpreet Singh. As is the case with MI in the past, majority of the newcomers are unlikely to fit into the XI but Anmolpreet and Sran are good additions as backups. The squad didn’t need much, and as such there will be no reason for them to feel disappointed.
Purse at the start of the auction: Rs. 11.15 crore Players bought in the auction: 6 Purse at the end of the auction: Rs. 3.55 Crore Squad strength: 24
Jaydev Unadkat once again became the biggest buy of the auction, as Rajasthan Royals bagged him for Rs. 8.4 Crore which was Rs. 3.1 Crore lesser than what they paid last time around. Pace continued to be on their agenda even after that as they got Oshane Thomas and Varun Aaron for a total of Rs. 3.5 Crore. While that makes for an impressive pace roster, in addition to the spin talent already in the team, some other gaps were not plugged as efficiently. With Steve Smith, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes and possibly Jofra Archer available for only a part of the 2019 season, the lack of powerful back-up options could hurt the Rajasthan Royals. They will depend on their late picks such as Ashton Turner and Liam Livingstone to come good when that time arrives.
Purse at the start of the auction: Rs. 20.95 crore Players bought in the auction: 9 Purse at the end of the auction: Rs. 7.15 Crore Squad strength: 25
As with several other IPL auctions, RCB went after the flavour of the season, but this time managed to land Shimron Hetmyer and big-hitting all-rounder Shivam Dube at a combined cost of Rs. 9.2 crore. This pair, they hope, will be key to answer one eternal question – Who after Kohli and de Villiers While RCB spent much of the auction picking up future prospects – teenaged leggie Prayas Barman (Rs. 1.5crore), Karnataka opener Devdutt Padikkal (20L), Delhi batsman Himmat Singh (65L) and Akshdeep Nath at a curiously high Rs. 3.6 crore, they made no attempt to address their death bowling woes. Nathan Coulter-Nile, who missed last season with a stress injury, could only play a bit-part if he’s called up for national team duties for the Pakistan series, leaving Tim Southee, Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav to bear the burden of the Chinnaswamy once more.
Purse at the start of the auction: Rs. 18.15 crore Players bought in the auction: 9 Purse at the end of the auction: Rs. 1.8 Crore Squad strength: 24
Squad: Retained: Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers, Parthiv Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Kulwant Khejroliya, Washington Sundar, Pawan Negi, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Moeen Ali, Mohammed Siraj, Colin de Grandhomme Bought: Shimron Hetmyer (4.2 crore), Devdutt Padikkal (20 lakh), Shivam Dube (5 crore), Heinrich Klassen (50 lakh), Gurkeerat Singh (50 lakh), Himmat Singh (Rs 65 lakh), Prayas Ray Barman (Rs 1.5 crore) Traded: Mandeep Singh for Marcus Stoinis
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad continued their prudent ways at the player auctions, picking up just three players to complete their squad. Wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha, who fetched a winning bid of Rs. 5 crore in last year’s auction, went for just Rs. 1.20 crore this time around. SRH also added a foreign wicketkeeping option in Jonny Bairstow. The two can share wicketkeeping and top-order duties over the season as Bairstow is expected to be unavailable for the second half. Shreevats Goswami is the other option. It was clear that SRH came armed with the idea of finding an able top-order back-up for the swashbuckling David Warner, who like Bairstow, will leave midway for World Cup preparations. Once SRH failed to secure their first-choice targets in Hetmyer and Ingram, they swooped for the New Zealand opener, Martin Guptil – getting him for his base price of Rs. 1 crore.
Purse at the start of the auction: Rs. 9.7 crore Players bought in the auction: 3 Purse at the end of the auction: Rs. 5.3 Crore Squad strength: 23
Squad: Retained: Basil Thampi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Hooda, Manish Pandey, T Natarajan, Ricky Bhui, Sandeep Sharma, Siddarth Kaul, Shreevats Goswami (wk), Khaleel Ahmed, Yusuf Pathan, Billy Stanlake, David Warner, Kane Williamson, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Shakib Al Hasan Bought: Jonny Bairstow (Rs 2.20 crore), Wriddhiman Saha (Rs 1.2 crore), Martin Guptill (Rs 1 crore)
