AMD Ryzen 5 4500U destroys the Intel Core i5-102010U in Geekbench

0

Having launched the Ryzen 4000 mobile processors back in CES 2020, AMD promised us that laptops equipped with the latest processors would be arriving in Q1 and Q2 of 2020. Now, we have a few laptops running with the new 7nm Ryzen CPUs which indeed gives us the actual performance of these processors.

The 6 core Ryzen 5 4500U has been spotted running on the Acer Swift 3 SF314-42 notebook which was originally announced during CES 2020 alongside other variants powered by the Intel Ice Lake CPUs. The Intel and AMD variants of the new Swift 3 have nearly similar features except the Project Athena and Thunderbolt 3 on the Intel variant.

So, in the leaked Geekbench 5.1 benchmark we see the Acer Swift 3 being compared to the Core i5-10210U powered Dell XPS 13 7390 and the Core i7-9750H powered Dell XPS 15 7590.

AMD Ryzen 5 4500U destroys the Intel Core i5-102010U in Geekbench

The Ryzen 5 4500U scores a huge 1,076 points in single-core and 4,323 points in the multi-core test. Whereas, the Core i5-10210U scores 867 in single-core and 2,872 in multi-core.

It is great to see the Ryzen CPU to score even better in single-core tests although as the Ryzen 5 4500U lacks SMT support which decreases the multi-core score it has two extra cores than the Core i5-10210U. This shows the improvement of the Zen 2 architecture which is impressive compared to Intel.

AMD Ryzen 5 4500U destroys the Intel Core i5-102010U in Geekbench

Comparing the Ryzen 5 4500U with the Core i7-9750H won’t be a good thing but we can get a fair idea by doing so. The Intel Core i7-9750H has higher clocks, threads, and TDP so, it’s about 13.5% faster in single-core and about 18% faster in multi-core but it will be interesting to see how this competes against 8C/16T Ryzen 7 4800H.

If we compare the newer Ryzen 5 4500U with the older Ryzen 5 3500U which score only 886 points in single-core and 3,067 points in multi-core this is a huge improvement over last-gen which we did expect from a 7nm CPU. Also, even though we see the addition of more cores and higher clocks still the processor remains within a 15W TDP envelope.

As the performance benchmarks look impressive, it will be interesting to see how manufacturers price the laptops and how the Ryzen 4000 APUs perform in daily life. In the coming days, laptops with Ryzen 4000 processors would start shipping and more models will be coming in Q2 2020.

Redmi teases a new product launch in India, might be Redmi 9 or Redmi Note 9 series or any Power Bank

A few days back Redmi India has tweeted a short video that showed the launch of a new device and from the caption, we see that they have focused on the word #Power which can also refer to something which drives power.

Redmi is more likely to launch a new power bank because today they have tweeted another sort of teaser video which reveals slightly the design of the device and from that, we can guess that the upcoming gadget can be a power bank.

From the above video shared by the brand, we can see that it is showcasing the body of the power bank. The charcoal black colour and the rough texture with a layered design at the sides of the gadget and the rectangular design hints the launch of a new power bank. There is also a button on the device which we have seen on a typical power bank.

Recent reports also suggest that Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the RedmiBook series in India, whose trademark was spotted in India recently hinting at Xiaomi’s entry into the laptop market.

Messi has publicly protested against Barcelona director Eric Abidal

0

Barcelona great Lionel Messi has come out and publicly protested against Barcelona director of football Eric Abidal for bad-mouthing players.

Messi had a good relationship with former Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde. But Abidal revealed that the sacking of Valverde was planned from January after their El Clasico draw on 18th December and that even winning the Supercopa de Espana wouldn’t have kept him in a job.

Abidal further said: “Many players weren’t satisfied or working a lot and there was also an internal communication problem. The relationship between the coach and the dressing room has always been good but there are things as an ex-player that I could smell. I told the club what I thought and we reached a decision.”

These comments from Abidal has infuriated Messi. Messi hardly creates any controversy but this time he has gone public with his say.

messi abidal

Messi wrote on his official Instagram account: “I honestly don’t like to do these things, but I think everyone has to be responsible for their tasks and take care of their decisions.”

“The players [are responsible for] what happens on the pitch and we are also the first to recognise when we are not playing well. Those responsible for the area of sports management must also assume their responsibilities and especially for the decisions they make.”

“Finally, I think that when talking about players we should give names, because if not we are all getting dirtied and feeding things that are said but aren’t true.”

According to a report by Marca on Monday, the two Barcelona ‘heavyweights’ had to be dragged apart in training last week after they fell out during a session.

It seems that everything is not going well inside the Barcelona camp. Messi is reportedly unhappy with how things are unfolding at Camp Nou.

Eriksen felt like ‘the back sheep’ at Tottenham

0

Christian Eriksen recently joined Inter from Tottenham Hotspur for a reported fee of around €20m. He felt like ‘the black sheep’ during the final months of his Tottenham career.

Eriksen’s contract with Tottenham was due to expire in July 2020. He openly said about his wish of joining a new club in order to have a new challenge at the end of last season. But his transfer didn’t happen and he had to stay at Tottenham for another 6 months before finalising a move to Inter last month.

In those 6 months, Eriksen was made ‘the black sheep’ at Tottenham by their fans for the poor performances of the team. Those poor performances also saw Pochettino getting sacked and the appointment of Jose Mourinho as the new manager.

The Denmark international thinks he paid the price for his honesty. He told the BBC: “If you have a short contract, you will be the black sheep. Of course, I did the interview. I was very honest. I felt I had to be honest. I didn’t want to hide like a lot of players do. Everyone is different. I was honest. I wanted to say it out loud.”

“I did get the blame for a lot of stuff, for being the bad guy. I read I was the bad person in the changing room, that ever since I said I wanted to leave, it was no good me being there. To be honest, over the last few years, if anything came up, any player would think about leaving but I was the guy who said it publicly.”

eriksen mourinho

He further added: “I think Mourinho did well. He could have said ‘he wants to leave, so he is not going to play anymore’. He didn’t do that.”

“After I told him where my feelings were and what I would like to do, he told me just to be happy and if I was needed I would play. I was needed in a few games where I did make a difference. It was more as an extra rather than in the starting XI of course.”

young eriksen

Eriksen was also linked with Manchester United and had talks with them. But now he is happy with his decision to join Antonio Conte’s Inter.

He said: “We did speak to them [United], of course, and we did hear what was possible and what wasn’t possible. But, in the end, me personally, I wanted a new challenge. To stay in the Premier League would have been an easy solution.”

“Of course, staying at Tottenham would also have been a solution but, for me, it just came down to wanting to try a new challenge in a new country. Once Inter came up it really wasn’t a difficult choice.
In my head and for my body, it is good that I am in a new place and I can start again.”

eriksen alli

Eriksen’s former Tottenham teammate Dele Alli told Sky Sports: “He’s [Eriksen] a worldie. I sent him a sad face on message, but I’m sure I’ll speak to him. He’s an unbelievable player. Yeah, he’ll be missed here, but this is a different step in his career.”

“Since the start of the season there’s been a lot of speculation and now it’s gone though I wish him all the best because he’s a great friend and a great person.”

Vivo will soon launch its Truly Wireless Earbuds in India

0

After Apple started making the wireless Airpods by omitting the headphone jack, Apple made a huge profit by selling its Airpods and launching various versions of it in the past few years. A problem created by a company to support the market of another product, making this to be a great market strategy.

Following this, various brands an even the other smartphone manufacturers have copied the Cupertino giant to make cheaper wireless earbuds. There are a lot of them available outside India, but in 2019 we saw many brands like Sony, JBL, Blaupunkt, boAt, Noise, Lenovo, Syska, Samsung, Realme and many others.

Vivo will soon launch its Truly Wireless Earbuds in India

To join them, Vivo will be launching its previously-launched truly wireless earbuds or Vivo TWS earphones in India. In fact, the report even tells that the earphones might be launching alongside the Vivo V19 by March 2020.

A report from 91mobiles says that Vivo will soon bring its TWS earphone to retail and its sources have also reportedly shared a live image of the earphone’s box and the charging case with 91mobiles.

Vivo will soon launch its Truly Wireless Earbuds in India

As seen in the image this will be Vivo’s first wireless audio device in the country and it looks good. The Vivo TWS earphones come with some interesting specs, sporting 14mm drivers along with support for Qualcomm aptX, and AAC decoding technology. It features Qualcomm QCC5126 wireless chip with dual-core CPU.

Vivo even claims to provide 4 hours of battery life after having charged once for the earphones which you can extend by charging it with the charging case which itself gives 24 hours battery backup. Being IP54 rated the Vivo TWS can easily withstand sweat, dust, exposure to light rain and maybe swimming as well.

The wireless earphones feature dual-channel transmission that reduces the latency by up to 44% and power consumption by up to 30%. The company claims the earphone has a minimum latency of 180ms along with noise cancellation for calls.

Other features include support for payments, WeChat broadcasts, and real-time translation but we aren’t sure if that would be present in the Indian variant. In China, the Vivo TWS earphones cost ¥999 (around ₹10,000) and it will be interesting to see how they price the earphones in a budget-centric country like India.

Pep Guardiola wanted Manuel Neuer to play in the midfield

0

Manuel Neuer is one of the best goalkeepers of his days. He has passed his prime but still, he can easily challenge for the top 3 goalkeeper spot.

Neuer is not only good with his hands but also his footwork is second to none. He is often deployed as a sweeper-keeper due to his brilliant footwork and ball distribution.

Current Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola always prefers a goalkeeper with good footwork. Victor Valdes at Barcelona, Manuel Neuer at Bayern Munich and Ederson at Manchester City have all flourished under Guardiola.

neuer

Neuer is exceptionally good with his feet. He is so good that Guardiola during his time at Bayern Munich wanted to play him in the midfield.

Guardiola was convinced to play Neuer as an outfield player at least in one match, only for Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to dissuade him for doing that.

Rummenigge told the club’s official matchday magazine: “I still remember how, after winning the championship, Pep Guardiola seriously had the idea to play him [Neuer] in midfield for a game.”

“Only with great effort was I able to dissuade Pep from this idea, which some people would perhaps have interpreted as arrogance on our part. But I am convinced: Manu would have cut a good figure in midfield, too.”

Maybe Pep Guardiola will try that idea with Ederson at Manchester City someday.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X’s Geekbench multi-core score frightens every HEDT CPU out there

0

The Red team launched its monstrous 7nm based 64 core Threadripper 3990X at the CES 2020 and now we have some Geekbench scores that convey the actual performance of this CPU.

We already have seen the Threadripper 3970X ripping off the charts even scaring the Intel Xeon W-3175X server CPU. Intel has to worry a bit more because of the new Ryzen Threadripper 3990X which will not only create a record of being the fastest HEDT CPU but also put the older Intel Xeon CPUs to shame.

CES 2020: AMD’s monstrous 7nm 64-core Threadripper 3990X is here

The Threadripper 3990X features 64 cores and 128 threads. It has a base clock speed of 2.9GHz and a boost up to 4.3GHz across all 64 cores. The processor has a total cache of 288MB and has 88 PCIe lanes out of which 72 are useable. All this is packed within a TDP of 280W.

In its presentation at the CES 2020, AMD said that the Threadripper 3990X has 51% better performance than the 3970X. According to the Red Team, the CPU even scores a massive score of 25,399 points in Cinebench R20.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X's Geekbench multi-core score frightens every HEDT CPU out there

Now the tipster @TUM_APISAK has found a leaked Geekbench benchmark score of the 64-core CPU where it scored 1208 on single-core and a whopping 22,045 in multi-core. The system with which it was tested was an Asus ROG Zenith II Extreme motherboard and according to the Geekbench entry, it was paired with a whopping 262,144 MB of RAM.

The Geekbench 5 listing might not be an accurate one but if it is so the multi-core score of 22,045 points seems pretty nice considering the fact it is only behind the 32-core Ryzen Threadripper 3970X with 22,916 points and the 28-core Intel Xeon W-3175X with 23,521 points.

This score might be of an engineering sample or an untuned Ryzen Threadripper 3990X because it’s never possible for it to score behind its brother. With days we will see better scores than this surely, with some more tweaks and improvements the CPU can break all the records in the coming days.

Luka Jovic is unhappy with his performances at Real Madrid

0

Real Madrid signed the Serbia international at the start of this season. They paid a reported fee of €60m to Eintracht Frankfurt. Luka Jovic signed a six-year deal with the Los Blancos.

The 22-year-old was one of the most prolific strikers in Europe last season. He scored 17 Bundesliga goals and a further 10 goals in Eintracht Frankfurt’s run to the semi-finals of the Europa League.

Jovic revealed how he reacted when Real Madrid contacted his agent. He said: “My agent called me and told me that Real Madrid had called and that they wanted me. I replied, ‘don’t tease me, please’.
But he said yes, there is an offer and I should think about it. Of course, I said yes and I don’t think it was a mistake because the biggest team in the world only calls once.”

Real Madrid wanted a young striker to gradually develop and take Benzema’s place in the team. But things haven’t gone as planned. Jovic has failed to perform at the same level at Real Madrid.

The pressure of the Bernabeu gets to everybody. They are one of the most demanding fans across the world. But, everyone is still certain that Jovic would make it big at Real Madrid due to the qualities which he possesses.

luka jovic

Jovic scored 27 goals and provided 7 assists in 48 games last season. However, in his first 21 games (eight starts) for Real Madrid, he has scored just a single goal. The solitary goal came in the dying embers of a 5-0 rout of Leganes over three months ago.

Luka Jovic, himself is unhappy with the performances. He said: “Honestly, I’m not happy with the season because I know I can improve. Sometimes I watch videos of my games last year and I think: ‘What’s gone wrong?’”

“But we all know that Real Madrid is a huge club and difficult even for experienced players to get used to. Even more so for a 21-year-old, they have paid €60m for. The pressure is massive, I’m battling at the moment without success. But I hope the situation changes.”

He further added: “In my country [Serbia], I still think there is a negative attitude when talking about my form at Real Madrid. But I’m convinced I’ll do well and that I will prove I am a Real Madrid player, as I have the quality.”

“I don’t use social media much, and I only have Instagram. If I’m honest, I am only focussed on football and my fitness. I am in the middle of a hard adaptation period, so I have to work harder.”

luka jovic

Luka Jovic is enjoying the training routine at Real Madrid. He said: “The most important thing here [at Real Madrid] is that you don’t have to get up early for training so that helps. Throughout my life I have had insomnia and trouble sleeping. I get up, have breakfast and go to training.”

“Training is much more pleasant than in Germany, so I enjoy it more too. Then after the session, you can continue practicing on the pitches, or get massage treatments. And we usually have afternoons free.”

Jovic must quickly assess himself and get back to scoring ways as Real Madrid is too big a club to give too many opportunities to players to settle at the club. Jovic has all the qualities to play at Real Madrid. He showed us last season what he is capable of. He just needs to sit down and find out where things are going wrong.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has also backed Jovic. Zidane said: “He is the future. He has to be calm. He is learning. He’s a boy who wants to learn a lot. He’s very good. He’ll get a lot of goals. We’ve backed him and you have to be calm with him.”

Luka Jovic might get a chance when Real Madrid play Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey encounter on Thursday. He needs to score goals to prove his worth to Real Madrid and help the club to win silverware this season.
