LaLiga clubs’ revenues take a hit as Spain ban betting companies from sponsoring teams

0

The revenue earned by clubs has already taken a hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic preventing patrons from entering stadiums. If that wasn’t enough, La Liga’s latest rules will have a nasty impact on the finances of most clubs.

According to a law passed by the government, betting companies will be banned from sponsoring teams. Have a look at the official declaration by the government here.

Spanish Minister for Consumer Affairs Alberto Garzon told the press of the government’s intentions on La Sexta. His statement reads as follows: “In the decree that will be approved in October we are going to prohibit that football clubs carry bookmakers on their shirts; it is reckless the clubs that are signing deals for two or three years and will have to correct it. They are making mistakes and they will have to correct it,”

To wrap it up in short, the government is looking to ban La Liga teams from having betting companies sponsor them in any form.

Impact of the declaration

The declaration by Garzon prevents the logos of betting companies to appear on the shirts of clubs in Spain. Although the league itself is involved with Sportium as the official sportsbook company of the league, the ban imposed on clubs will hamper the amount of money they get from these betting companies by up to 70%.

The biggest teams in Spain that are sponsored by betting teams include Sevilla and Valencia. While Valencia is sponsored by Bwin, Sevilla sports Marathon Bet’s logo in bold on their kits. Other teams that earn profit from betting companies include Alaves, Leganes, Granada, Mallorca, Osasuna, and Levante.

This is not the first time that the Spanish government has tried to cut down on betting.

After play resumed following the lockdown, teams were forced to hide betting sponsors for three matchdays. This was because of the state of emergency declared in Spain until the 25th of July.

The league looks set to make a change in the sponsorship landscape from the 2020-21 season. This could impact a lot of clubs negatively, not to mention putting their future in jeopardy.

PUBG Mobile alternatives that you should try now in India

0

The IT Ministry of India banned 118 mobile applications including the mobile version of the famous battle royale game named PUBG. I fully understand this news is shocking to many of us, though we have to move on ultimately. Here is a list of similar battle royale games that you can try as a replacement for PUBG Mobile.

Call of Duty: Mobile

If you are a fan of the TDM mode in PUBG Mobile, you have to try the Multi-Player mode of COD Mobile. For me, it’s way better and has more varieties. Though there are differences in the 100 player matches too, I, personally am not a fan of the Battle Royale mode of COD as there is less variety of maps then PUBG. The most interesting thing is that the game provides new modes, weapon skins, and more almost every week so that you will never get bored.

The Call of Duty Mobile was launched back in October 2019, and from the very beginning, it faces a rapid growth in the competitive market. Even it gains more downloads than PUBG Mobile in the first eight months.

Fortnite

You must have heard about this game. Fortnite is still on the discussion around the globe due to its clash with Apple and Google. It’s very famous in America. Alongside the mobile versions, it also has the PC and console versions. This is one of the best games that can fulfill the vacant place.

Garena Free Fire: Rampage

In India, there are two major communities – one is from the PUBG side, and another one is from Free Fire side. The main reason for the growth of this game is the overall size. Where PUBG Mobile took over 3 GB after installation, it takes around half of that. Obviously, you have to compromise something for that including graphics, but the overall gameplay is ok as per its size.

There are other two options you can go with – Battlelands Royale and Butter Royale but I will recommend to try the other three first.

Suresh Raina opens up for the first time after pulling out of IPL 2020 and returning to India

Suresh Raina returned to India on last week flight from Dubai to New Delhi. Team management said that he was in fear as around 13 CSK members have tested positive.

CSK landed in Dubai on 21st August and stayed in 6 days of quarantine period according to the BCCI rules. But around 13 members of CSK were tested positive in the last couple of days.

The real reason behind Raina’s pullout from IPL 2020 wasn’t cleared and many people claimed that he was unhappy with the hotel room and the services provided to him.

An IPL source told PTI: “In CSK, the norm is that the coach, captain and the manager get suites. However, Raina also gets a suite in any hotel that the franchise stays. It’s just that his room didn’t have a balcony.”

“It was an issue but I don’t think big enough to warrant a comeback (to India). There could be something more than just the scare of rising Covid-caseload in Chennai,” the source added.

Now Suresh Raina has talked to the media for the first time after returning to India. He has given an exclusive interview with NDTV. He said: “These are all fabricated stories and anyone who knows me, knows that these are all stories planted by people who don’t want me or CSK to succeed.”

He also said that he had to return to India because of personal reasons and hinted that he may return to CSK for this year’s season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He added: “You never know, you might see me in the camp again. First, I have to take care of my responsibilities here and then am ready.”

“It was a personal decision and I had to come back for my family. There was something that needed to be addressed immediately at the home front.”

Suresh Raina has posted on Twitter about the horrible incident which happened to his family in Punjab.

This might be the reason why Raina has returned to India in such a short time span. What happened to his family is a complete nightmare!

So, after he has managed his family matters, Raina might still join the CSK camp in UAE.

The IPL 2020 is scheduled to start on 19th September with the final on 10th November.

IPL 2020: Lasith Malinga has decided to skip this year’s IPL due to personal reason

Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga has decided to skip this year’s IPL due to his personal reasons.

Malinga is the highest wicket-taker in IPL history. His presence in the team is very valuable for Mumbai Indians. His performance in some vital matches was brilliant.

Mumbai Indians have already announced his replacement for IPL 2020. They have decided to go with Australian fast bowler James Pattinson.

Lasith Malinga’s father was ill for the last few days and may require surgery in the upcoming days. First, it was expected that he can join the team at the business end of the tournament. But later he has decided to entirely withdraw his name from this year’s IPL.

Akash Ambani said in the franchise’s website: “Lasith is a legend and a pillar of MI’s strength. There is no denying the fact that we will miss Lasith’s cricketing acumen this season. However, we fully understand Lasith’s need to be in Sri Lanka with his family during this time.”

He also welcomed Pattinson. Mumbai has Jasprit Bumrah and New Zealand pacer Trent Boult in their team. But they will surely miss the experience of Lasith Malinga.

Pattinson had been a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the past. But he is yet to make his IPL debut. He has played 39 T20s, taking 47 wickets at an average of 24.12 with an 8.25 economy rate.

He is in good form recently. In the Big Bash League (BBL) he claimed a career-best for Brisbane Heat against Adelaide Strikers at the Gabba. He took 5 wickets at the expense of 33 runs.

IPL is going to start on the 19th of September. It will be a question if the Aussie pacer can replace the most successful bowler of the tournament.

CALL-IDOU KOULIBALY – Is There An End In Sight?

This summer’s transfer market has been officially open for a long time now, but one player’s future that has not concluded so far is that of Kalidou Koulibaly. The 29-year old Senegalese centre back has not handed in a transfer request as such, but per the Italian media’s sources, there is a growing consensus that Napoli and Koulibaly could part ways this window. For Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis, it would mean keeping club finances in the green post a heavy investment in new recruit Victor Osimhen. For Koulibaly, it would bring an end to his journey in Naples and a final opportunity to ply his trade at a club of higher reputation while still in his peak years.

So the real question seems to be, who is chasing Koulibaly? According to media reports and quotes from De Laurentiis himself, Manchester City are the frontrunners to sign the defender while Paris St Germain (PSG) and Manchester United are monitoring the situation.

The Citizens would surely benefit from Koulibaly’s presence having been defensively poor throughout the last season. He would bring a myriad of attributes such as command in defence, physical style and leadership – aspects that would remind people of Vincent Kompany, who City have very sorely missed since his departure. On paper thus, it would seem fitting that Koulibaly is yet another star name to embrace and adapt quickly to the ways and means of the calling of the Premier League.

Koulibaly would most certainly be perfect partners for Harry Maguire at Manchester United as well as Presnel Kimpembe at PSG, but both clubs seem to be focusing their efforts elsewhere in the market.

Latest developments have indicated that while United are looking to strike a deal for Dayot Upamecano, PSG hope to ensnare Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan.

This could potentially see Man City have a free run at Koulibaly and wrap up a deal, having negotiated for many weeks now. One of the reasons for the slow progress is that the player’s agent Fali Ramadani has been negotiating on behalf of both clubs since they do not share a good relationship after the Jorginho incident in 2017. A bright spot over the course of the tango between Napoli and City has however seen the former reduce their demands to 80 million, while the latter has upped their offer to 70 million inclusive of bonuses. This could mean that an agreement is close, but an interesting week certainly awaits us.

Rajasthan Royals documentary releases globally on Red Bull TV after premiering on Jio TV

Rajasthan Royals’ documentary series will release globally on Red Bull TV after premiering on Jio TV on August 1.

The three-part series named “Inside Story” is available on Jio platforms. The series will feature interviews and “never-before-seen footage” from Rajasthan Royals’ 2019 season campaign.

//www.instagram.com/embed.js

Royals’ COO Jake Lush McCrum addressed the documentary speaking on it’s release. (via Insidesport):

“We are delighted to launch this documentary to entertain both Royals fans and sports lovers around the world during this challenging time. We hope this will increase the excitement and anticipation of the 800 million IPL fans”.

The season one champions had a poor run in the 12th edition of the IPL as they finished at seventh position out of eight teams. The documentary will feature stars like captain Steve Smith and all-rounder Ben Stokes. Youngsters Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag will be featured as well. The documentary has been in works since March last year when the team agreed to let a film crew follow them through the season.

RR looking for a fresh start in 2020!

The Royals have completely changed their traditional team pattern going into 2020. The franchise has parted ways with long-time opener Ajinkya Rahane and explored with other options. They will have the services of IPL staple Robin Uthappa and young sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal to potentially open the innings alongside Jos Buttler. They have also bought an experienced David Miller to strengthen their middle order.

However, this year, bowling seems to have been the main focus of the franchise. They prioritized T20 specialists across the globe purchasing Andrew Tye, Tom Curran, and Oshane Thomas. They also heavily invested in their previous spearhead Jaydev Unadkat. Unadkat will probably lead the bowling attack after Jofra Archer was ruled out of the entire season.

NVIDIA announces a host of new Gaming Technologies with new Ampere GPUs

0

The graphics giant NVIDIA has now come out with an ensemble of high powered gaming technologies and graphic cards, designed to boosting the video content quality as well as attaining a more life-like gaming experience. As part of the Ampere line-up commemorating the famous French mathematician Andre Marie-Ampere, the latest graphics cards to be rolled out are the RTX 3090, RTX 3080, and RTX 3070 – with the RTX 3090 being the top-line model to attract the gamers and streamers’ market.

In addition, it is also claimed that the RTX 3090 is capable of supporting an 8K and 60-FPS gameplay. What is also interesting is that the popular games Fortnite and Call of Duty: Cold War will also be receiving an RTX ray-tracing support which promises a better illumination landscape.

NVIDIA has rolled out some stunning graphic cards options for users to choose from (SOURCE CREDITS – VideoCardz)

But what are these new and upgraded technologies that NVIDIA has launched? Let us find out –

1) RTX Broadcast – The developed engine, owed much to the Tension Cores and delicately designed RTX GPUs, now give users and content creators the feature to live-stream with advanced features such as virtual greenscreen and face tracking. In essence, the tool also uses artificial intelligence to remove background noises and provide an improved interface that isolates the broadcaster from their surrounding background. What’s more, these tools are universally adaptable meaning one can plug it any broadcasting software – be it ones like Zoom, Google Hangouts, Twitch, and many more.

2) Omniverse Machinima – In what is focused more on the creative side than the technical, NVIDIA’s latest application enables users to recreate and reinvent animated video game storytelling. Assisted by the RTX path traced rendering, the cutting edge Omniverse ecosystem supports voice-acting, interactive visual effects, and facial animation to provide physically accurate video output.

3) NVIDIA Reflex – This technology practically appeals to all the fanatical gamers out there. The system is designed to reduce latency (otherwise known as the time taken for a device to send data to the gaming server) and decrease the time on the render queue so that the CPU and GPU are in link to give a hassle-free quick time gaming feel. As with e-sports, faster the better has always been a significant theme and NVIDIA’s Latency Analyser bound by the G-Sync display does exactly that.

East Bengal gets new investor and ready to make ISL debut in 2020

The rivalry of the two Kolkata based clubs, East Bengal and Mohun Bagan are well known to all the Indian football fans. Both the clubs played I-League last season, with Mohun Bagan winning the 2019-20 title.

Read: Mohan Bagan declared I-League champions as AIFF conclude the 2019-20 season amid Coronavirus pandemic

Three-time ISL winner ATK has now merged with Mohun Bagan to form a new club, ATK Mohun Bagan FC. This merger will allow Mohun Bagan to play in ISL from the next season.

After their counterpart joined ISL, East Bengal was in the lookout for new investors to participate in the ISL as Quess backed out from their partnership with the club at the end of last season.

East Bengal has now got their new investor in the form of Benu Gopal Bangur-run cement manufacturer Shree Cement. The deal has been agreed and the announcement has been made on today in the presence of Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee. She has helped the club to find a new investor and participate in the ISL.

With new investor on board, East Bengal are ready to make their ISL debut this year in the same time as their city rivals Mohun Bagan.

But now the big question is whether ISL will permit East Bengal to make their debut in the upcoming season?

A source close to Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), organisers of the Indian Super League, told PTI earlier: “East Bengal didn’t have a chance after April because it takes time with so much of legalities and other important things involved. From April till November they had more than six months but once they have crossed that, there was no chance for East Bengal.”

“Club like East Bengal will always be welcomed in ISL. But getting ready or their inclusion in ISL for the season starting in November will be too much to ask at this stage. Let’s see how things moves forward.”.

East Bengal are very keen to participate in ISL 2020. They want to make their debut in the same year as Mohun Bagan, such as the rivalry between the two greatest teams of Indian football.

If ISL can bring the East Bengal – Mohun Bagan derby back then it would definitely see a huge spike in viewership and engagement. The derby would bring in a whole new level of excitement in the tournament which will be played behind closed doors in Goa.

It remains to be seen whether ISL will make an exception for East Bengal, one of the most popular Indian football teams.

Pre-production iPhone 12 allegedly handled on video

0

There is a shocking video that goes viral in the media. That video shows off someone handling the new iPhone 12, fresh out of its retail package. But it can be iPhone 11 Pro too. Here the confusion begins. Is it an iPhone 11 Pro or a new iPhone 12 and if this is iPhone 12, then why is it looking like iPhone 11 Pro? Does that mean the slow pace of Apple, when it comes to smartphone designs?

If we try to compare the outlook design of those iPhones, we can find that the iPhone 11 generation has rounded sides where the iPhone 12 is expected to have squared offsides. Rumors also claimed that the notch will be smaller and we’re not seeing it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwfexyaeKuY

The main confusion occurred because of the back design especially the rear camera layout. The rear camera layout is identical to the iPhone 11 Pro. However, the renders can be inaccurate based on schematics for case manufacturers. Because the case doesn’t cover the camera so schematics don’t feature the exact layout.

Whatever leaks we have got till now about the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max, there are many confusions too. Some tipsters are claiming that the Pro version will have a quad rear camera setup, where others are claiming that Pro versions have a triple rear camera setup. In the case of vanilla models, those are expected to have only two rear cameras. At any rate, the device in the video above is expected to be an iPhone 12 Pro (or Pro Max).

Moreover, we haven’t seen any FCCb label on the back of the device. So, this is typically pre-production and test units. The iPhone 12 models are not fully ready until now, but they are currently in that stage. Discussing all those factors now, this is quite probable that the iPhone in that video is not an iPhone 11 Pro.
