Nvidia RTX 3080 20 GB variant may be a possibility

0

We have seen many rumors going on about Nvidia’s upcoming RTX 3000 series graphics cards. It is also being said that the green team plans on releasing a series of cards between its RTX 3050 up to the RTX 3080 Ti series. According to sources, NVIDIA has originally planned to unveil three RTX 30 cards. But now the company has announced that it will instead launch four cards, with the RTX 3060 Ti being the new edition.

The edition of RTX 3060 Ti could very well mean that the rumors about Nvidia releasing a series of cards might very well be true. But we know that earlier, the company was supposed to also have a 20 GB edition of the RTX 3080 and a 16 GB version of the RTX 3070 planned, but these rumors were all short-lived.

MSI has submitted eight RTX 3080 20 GB SKUs to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). According to sources, MSI plans to relaunch its Sea Hawk and Aero series. The list contains multiple SKUs from both series. The RTX 3080 20 GB SKUs in the list are as follows:

  • RTX 3080 SUPRIM Z 20G
  • RTX 3080 SUPRIM X 20G
  • RTX 3080 SUPRIM 20G
  • RTX 3080 SEA HAWK X 20G
  • RTX 3080 GAMING TRIO 20G
  • RTX 3080 AERO 20G
  • RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X 20G OC
  • RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X 20G

For now MSI has registered the names of eight RTX 3080 20 GB SKUs. But we don’t know for a fact whether the company plans to release them. But Nvidia’s upcoming hardware announcement plan for January 2021 indicates that the green team has bunch of new cards to announce. Hopefuly we will get to see an RTX 3080 20 GB variant.

Oppo is working on a vertically foldable smartphone, renders spotted

0

Recently, we have seen that foldable smartphones have gained a lot of popularity among smartphone lovers. There are many options for foldable smartphones which can fold horizontally, but, if anyone wants vertically foldable smartphones, then there are two options- the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, and Motorola Razr. Now, according to a recent report, Oppo is reportedly working on a vertically foldable smartphone, and we have got the estimated design of this upcoming foldable device.

The patent was filed with the World Intellectual Property Organization(WIPO) and it was approved and published on 3rd September. The document reveals, that the upcoming Oppo foldable smartphone will have a rotating hinge with gears that allows the phone to be fixed at up to four different angles.

Recently, we have got some renders of this upcoming device through LetsGoDigital based on the patent images, which shows that the upcoming Oppo’s foldable smartphone doesn’t have a cover display. This means, when you fold the phone you can’t see the notifications that you just received until you unfold it. But in other foldable smartphones, you can see the notifications even if the phone is in folded condition.

According to the renders, the main display of this upcoming smartphone is more conventional, as it has a centered punch hole to hold the selfie camera. The patent diagram doesn’t reveal about the rear cameras, but the renders images reveal that this upcoming foldable device will have a triple rear camera setup. But there is a chance that this phone having a single rear camera is pretty slim.

Apart from this information, the rest remains a mystery. There is no official information about this phone till now. But we are expecting that the company may launch this phone in 2021, and we will give all the information regarding this topic.

Mourinho’s philosophy at Spurs has made them genuine title contenders this season

0

Plenty of eyebrows were raised when Jose Mourinho was appointed as the coach of Tottenham Hotspur following the departure of longtime manager Mauricio Pochettino. While the Portuguese might have been underwhelming in his first season in charge, his second has been absolutely phenomenal.

While the addition of many new faces over the summer can surely be considered as a winning point for the ‘Special One’, no other change has been as productive and as visible as the newfound partnership between Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.

The duo combined effectively for the first goal against Arsenal, in what was another candidate for goal of the season for Spurs’ number 7. The second just showed how well the two players know each other, with Son making a cheeky flick to supply Kane to finish an unstoppable shot.

The pair have now combined 30 times to score goals in the Premier League. The likes of Lampard and Drogba combined together 36 times in all. That record, held by Spurs’ London rivals, could be broken as early as later this season.

Mourinho has set them up to defend very deep, as is usual for any lineup set up by the Portuguese. The additional block is created by the wingers, Bergwijn and Son, being watchful of the opposition fullbacks and coming back to defend without the ball.

Spurs win the ball deep in or around the penalty area and rely on their passing to get the ball to one of their midfielders or Harry Kane. Once there, the two wingers, Son and Bergwijn, use their blistering pace to get up the flanks and provide more of an attacking threat.

https://youtu.be/EO0wkY6U9Js

This creates a scenario where the opposition defenders are outnumbered, should their other players be slow in getting back. And the counter-attacking spell is hence completed by an attempt at goal.

This is the philosophy that Jose Mourinho has perfected in his second season at Spurs, with Kane supplying the runners on the flanks similar to that of Bobby Firmino to Salah or Mane at Liverpool.

Should they manage to keep up this form in the games to follow, the 2020/21 season could be the year for the Londoners to complete their quest for Premier League silverware.

TIM, Ericson and Qualcomm set World Record for Long Distance 5G network speed

0

TIM, Ericsson, and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. are known for their innovative contributions in the field of technology. However, now the collaboration of these three has set a new world record for ultra-broadband long-distance speed with 5G technology applied to Fixed Wireless Access (FWA). The connection achieved a speed of 1 Gbps on 26 GHz millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequencies. From the site at a distance of 6.5 kilometers at 1Gbps with UDP protocol, 700Mbps Speedtest Ookla TCP reached on TIM’s live network.

The companies showcased their extended-range 5G mmWave delivering 1 Gbps over a 6.5 km distance in urban Italy. According to reports, the record confirms the usability of the 5G millimeter-wave spectrum, not only for urban, high speed, or high-density-only deployment but also for wider 5G FWA coverage. It also means that the TIM customers will now have enhanced ultra-broadband connections, especially in those areas not yet covered by optic fiber.

A major factor contributing to the innovative solution’s success, tested on a live network, was made possible thanks to the new Ericsson 5G mmWave high power antenna-integrated radio AIR 5322. It was installed at the mobile site on Via Oriolo Romano in Rome, equipped with Ericsson’s extended range software. The devices that connected to the network were all device’s already on the market. They consisted of Casa Systems’ new AurusAI, the industry’s first high-power 5G mmWave customer premise equipment (CPE), and equipped with a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X55 5G Modem-RF System with Qualcomm® QTM527 extended-range mmWave antenna module.

The testing of the solution is of extreme importance in the next-step towards future wireless connectivity. It will lead to the 5G wireless network reaching more areas and covering and covering a wide customer base. Areas that were previously unreachable by the network can now be reached due to the solution’s new record.

Slack purchased by Salesforce in a deal of $27.7 billion: What you should know?

0

Slack was a leading workplace chat software that was one of the first in its field. The start-up offered various tools and services and brought one of the first group meeting software in the market. But everything changed when Microsoft launched its Teams software. Feeling threatened by Microsoft’s venture into the workplace communication market, Slack issued an open letter to the Redmond giant, stating that the company is here to stay and will not back down.

But after four years, the company only managed to increase its subscriber base from 4 million to 12 million. Simultaneously, Microsoft’s Teams managed to increase the subscriber count from zero to 115 million in just four years.

It is because Microsoft managed to increase its users without having increased the price of their prices. All this factor has led to Slack being falling into despair. Thus, the company has sold itself to Salesforce this week. The deal to buy Slack valued the company at $27.7 billion and is based on the workplace chat rooms’ previous years’ earnings of roughly $833 million.

Slack was the fastest-growing enterprise software tool of all time. Earlier before the launch of various workplace tools, it was a go-to destination for enterprise experts. It used a have more than a million users daily.

“Building a product that allows for significant improvements in how people communicate requires a degree of thoughtfulness and craftsmanship that is not common in the development of enterprise software. How far you go in helping companies truly transform to take advantage of this shift in working is even more important than the individual software features you are duplicating.”

Slack offered originality in its design and code. Microsoft, on the other hand, based most of their ideas on Slack’s original grounds. The outcome which a productivity suite like Slack had is unfortunate. But only time will tell whether the company will thrive under the new leadership of Salesforce.

Fowler said, “I thought the decisions (of not giving penalties) were blatant. Certainly, the first one in the first half was clear-cut. The second one, for me, was clear cut as well.”

Though the former Liverpool legend is not a good fan of VAR. But he clearly described its importance. “I think it slows the game at times. Referees might need a bit of help, I know they are doing a tough job. When you get two blatant penalties wrong like that, it is tough to take for a manager. I’m going to say ‘yes’ (for VAR).”- he said.

VAR has been already introduced in all the top division leagues of Europe. It is used successfully in UEFA Champions League, Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, etc. If ISL finally decides to introduce it as well then it will be a step forward in Indian football as well.
