India are all set to break the biggest record in T20Is

0

Team India needs to win 3 more consecutive T20Is to break Afghanistan’s record of the longest winning streak in T20Is.

Afghanistan till now holds the record of the longest winning streak of T20Is as they won 12 T20Is back-to-back from 2018. They are also second on the list for winning 11 back-to-back T20I wins from 2016 to 2017.

If India whitewashes Australia in the ongoing T20I series then they will equal Afghanistan’s 11-straight win record and will straight jump to the second spot in ICC T20I rankings.

At New Zealand, the host were whitewashed with two of the matches being won in a Super Over. The win on Friday was their 9th consecutive one, while the second T20I win on Sunday was their 10th in a row. While the men in blue broke Pakistan’s record of 9 T20Is back-to-back, on Sunday.

However, Team India surprisingly is yet to lose any T20I in the last 12 months with their first win going back to December 2019 against West Indies in Mumbai. In 2020, the first T20I series that India played was with Sri Lanka at home. The first game of the 3-match series was abandoned due to rain in Guwahati, while India won the other two games in Indore and Pune and sealed the series 2-0.

India has already clinched the T20I title against Australia on Sunday and now is looking forward to whitewashing Australia on Tuesday at the Sydney Cricket Ground with captain Kohli at the lead with support from KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, and Shreyas Iyer in the middle orders. Adding to that T. Natarajan’s lethal yorkers and great support from Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar.

Virat Kohli’s big achievement as a captain

0

Virat Kohli became the first Indian skipper to win a T-20 series in SENA [South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia] countries. The Blues has made an excellent comeback in the T-20 series by winning it 2-0 after losing the ODI series by 2-1.

Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has won in Australia and South Africa but wasn’t able to register a series victory in New Zealand and England.

Batting first, Australia has set a mammoth total of 194 for India to chase. India started the chase well as Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli played knocks of 52 and 40 respectively.

Hardik Pandya [42 not out] and Shreyas Iyer [12 not out] finished that as India win by 6 wickets with 2 balls to spare.

It is an instant reply by Virat Kohli to his critics. He was highly criticized after IPL. Some suggested to replace him with Rohit Sharma as the captain of India.

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir said, “If Rohit Sharma doesn’t become India’s captain, it’s their loss, not Rohit’s. Yes, a captain is only as good as his team and I completely agree with that, but what are the parameters to judge a captain on who is good and who isn’t? The parameters and benchmark should be the same. Rohit has led his team to five IPL titles.” Virender Sehwag, Michael Vaughan also suggested the same.

The criticism increased as India lost the ODI series as well. This achievement will surely shut the critics.

ISL 2020-21: ATKMB faces the first loss of the season

Jamshedpur’s Valskis broke ATKMB’s winning streak, as they beat them by 2-1 goal at Tilak Maidan Stadium, Goa on Monday.

Valskis scored two goals, one at 30th minute and second at 66th minute while Krishna pulled a late goal back for ATKMB. An impressive attacking by the Jamshedpur forward Valskis ensured ATKMB’s win. Goalkeeper TP Rehenesh was back in the side after a suspension.

Coach Antonio Habas made three changes to his side after getting defeated by Odisha FC as Eduardo Garcia, Brandon Inman, Glan Martins all started for ATK Mohun Bagan. ATKMB also seemed to lack the spirit to finish off the move in the beginning.

It wasn’t even easy for Jamshedpur FC to start as ATKMB poured in with counter-attacks. But Jamshedpur FC’s toughness throughout the first half helped them take the lead.

ATKMB had a couple of opportunities to grab an equaliser but Rehenesh was at his best. Rehenesh first denied Krishna from close range by throwing his body on the line and later on he dived full-stretched to save Glan Martins’ long-range shot that was deflected and heading in.

In the second half, at the 66th minute, the goal came in by Valskis once again from a set-piece as Monroy dipped in a perfect corner-kick which was flicked by Rahman.

At the 80th-minute, Substitute Manvir Singh flicked the ball to Krishna, who was lurking in the box, and the Fijian rounded the keeper to score his fourth goal in ISL 2020-21 season.

ATKMB was desperately trying to equalise but JFC was strong and resolute to win the match. ATKMB’s winning run came to an end, though they sit in the second position in the league table.

AMD steadily gaining market share says Steam Survey

0

The Red team is on a spree to gain more users each month, thanks to its insane demand in the CPU market. Coming in at cheap prices, AMD had a clear gameplan and it is now dominating not only in terms of multi-threaded performance but also in terms of gaming with new Ryzen 5000 series processors.

The latest November Steam Hardware Survey suggests that AMD is getting more market shares each month at a steady rate, while Intel is losing a significant chunk when totaled. In September 2020 report, we saw AMD making its way to the 1/4th of market share for the first time.

AMD steadily gaining market share says Steam Survey

With more new processors, AMD has gained significant amount of share in November – a jump by 0.72%, with Intel losing the same amount of share. Now, AMD owns 26.51% market share whereas Intel now owns 73.49%.

In the coming days, when Apple devices come with its own processors, Intel will start losing more shares down the line, also remember AMD has just announced the Ryzen 5000 series, so the margin will further increase in the coming months.

Barcelona and Amazon reportedly set for a partnership

Barcelona are currently in a dire financial crisis and owe about €488 million, double that of 2019. Furthermore, Barcelona will be unable to pay the salaries of their players in January. The club were recently on the verge of bankruptcy, but have since managed to turn their fate around.

The Catalonian’s financial burdens could be further eased if Amazon goes forth with their plans for investment in the club. As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are currently looking for alternative revenue streams and will be looking to incorporate Jeff Bezos’ world-famous brand as partners.

While Amazon will most certainly help the club out with the monetary side of things, they could be offered control of the advertising and selling of merchandise for the club in exchange.

Right now, though, the wait lies for a new Barcelona President to take the reigns at Barcelona. January 24th is the date that the votes will be conducted for the club.

The decision must go through Barcelona’s General Committee before becoming official. Hence, there is still some time for the partnership to fully materialise.

While there are still 3-4 companies in the mix, the official auctions are yet to be formalised. Mundo Deportivo have indicated that Amazon, through their various platforms, including Prime Video, could prepare video content for fans to enjoy.

Documentaries of the things going on behind the scenes at the club, especially at such a tumultuous time, could go on to generate a great amount of revenue for the club in addition to the sponsorship money in the form of royalties. This could further supplement Barcelona’s income and help them out with their huge debts.

Barcelona have tons of problems to deal with right now, and solving even the financial aspect of it could go a long way in increasing morale for not only the fans but also the players.

East Bengal recruit former player Raju Gaikwad back to the club

Former East Bengal centre back Raju Gaikwad is set to rejoin the club in the ISL in January. According to journalist Marcus Mergulhao, the defender has once again agreed on terms with his former club and is set to join soon.

The newly introduced club have had a horrifying start to the season, with three losses in three games played. Furthermore, they are yet to score their first goal in the ISL. East Bengal currently sit last in the table and have the worst defensive record of all the clubs in the competition, conceding 7 goals in three games so far.

Gaikwad rejoining East Bengal is news that could not have come at a better time for the fans of the Red and Yellow club. The defender has 6 season’s worth of experience in the ISL previously, having applied his trade to clubs like FC Goa, Mumbai City FC, Jamshedpur FC and Kerala Blasters, most recently before becoming a free agent in July.

Standing at 1.8 metres tall, the centre back has also managed to get 24 caps for the Indian national team.

At 30, the Mumbai born defender has a plethora of experience to offer to the currently disorientated East Bengal defense. Robbie Fowler’s recent injury concerns are also not making things any easier.

Club captain Danny Fox is already set to miss some time out on the sidelines owing to an injury he suffered in the 3-0 defeat at the hands of Mumbai City FC.

East Bengal need a hero right now, as bad as they have ever. Fans all across the country will be hoping that Danny Fox recovers as quickly as possible. Moreover, Gaikwad’s reported signing could also add composure and experience the Gold and Red backline to help turn the season around.

ISL 2020-21: Hyderabad FC has one of the largest online fan bases

Six years after Indian Super league’s establishment, it has grown into one of the world’s most popular football leagues.

In the era of digital media, especially social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, has been a key factor in the rise of popularity of the ISL.

Another new ISL team has emerged, Hyderabad FC, with 80k followers in total and 55.1k followers on Instagram, has created a lot of buzz with their unique logo launch on social media platforms. The logo showed Charminar, one of the most prominent and important sites in the city.

However, their performance last season was not up to the mark, as they finished at the bottom of the ISL standings with just two wins in eighteen matches. They hope for a better upcoming season in 2020-21 season and would want to give their fans something to cheer about on social media platforms.

Despite their bad season, Hyderabad FC fans have shown a lot of promise in their previous seasons and hopefully would continue to in future.

In the mid-August 2020, Hyderabad FC announced their two-year partnership with German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund (BVB). The aim is to create infrastructure like that of Dortmund and nurture and develop young players and transplant that into Hyderabad’s academy structure and coaching education and will also impart its expertise in technology to innovate more and help in expanding their fan base.

This season Hyderabad has also brought in the Spanish trio of defender Odei Onaindia, striker Francisco Sandaza and midfielder Lluis Sastre into the squad.

They are stacked in the goalkeeping department with veteran Subrata Paul and Laxmikant Kattimani in their ranks. Plus, they also have Adil Khan, who has been a regular for the Indian team.

Now they will look for a better finish under Spanish coach Manuel Marquez Roca.

Apple preps 32-Core Mac processors aiming to surpass Intel chips

0

Apple is working on a new ARM-based processor with as many as 32 high-performance CPU cores to gradually phase out the use of intel cores, according to a new report from Bloomberg. The processor could also appear in a new “half-sized Mac Pro” that is slated to release in 2022.

The American tech giants, Apple, are making a new series of Mac processors, and the first of the new chips could be launched as early as spring 2021, the report said. This comes after Apple debuted the M1, its first Mac main processor, in November.

The engineers are already working on multiple follow-ups, the sources close to Bloomberg cited, including a chip with as many as 32 power cores for a new half-sized Mac Pro. After release, the new chips will be used across new versions of the iMac desktops, MacBook Pro, and an upcoming Mac Pro workstation.

The company’s smartphone-like M1 chip that features a CPU with four high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores is being used in the new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini. However, Apple is still using Intel chips for its more powerful machines like the Mac Pro. Over the course of the next two years, Apple intends to transition its whole Mac lineup onto its own chips.

Bloomberg reports that Apple is also working on chips with more Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) cores. While the November release M1 chip comes with either seven or eight GPU cores, it is currently testing models with 16 and 32-cores. By late 2021 or 2022, Apple aims to release a chip with as many as 128 GPU cores, which would be far faster than the Intel and AMD processors it currently uses.

Apple is looking at designs featuring up to four efficiency cores and 16 power cores for its upcoming chip for MacBook Pro and iMacs, the sources revealed. But depending on how the manufacturing process goes, Apple may launch other chips that are mid-way between the two versions, with eight or 12 power cores.

Apple’s ambitious plans to move its entire Mac lineup onto its own silicon in the next two years provides justice to the fact that it has more powerful chips in development. Thanks to their combination of power-efficiency and performance, its first ARM-based Macs have impressed. Still, it will be a far bigger challenge to match the capabilities of its more powerful Intel-based machines like the Mac Pro.
