Xiaomi unveils the price of its 82-inch 4K and 8K smart TV’s

0

Xiaomi is one of the largest smart TV business owners in India and China. It has always performed well in the TV segment with products like Redmi Smart TV MAX 98 and Mi TV LUX OLED.

Last month, an 82 – inch Xiaomi 8K and 4K televisions were spotted on 3C. the 82-inch Mi TV 8K will bear the model number L82M6-8K. it is rumored to have a power rating of 100-240V.

The new Xiaomi TV is reported to be expensive but will still be lower than $7,342. It is supposed to be second in a stack of Xiaomi’s transparent Mi TV LUX.

Sources claim that L82M6-8K will have a built-in 5G modem. The company may not be the first one to release a 5G TV, but it will surely be the largest company to do so. The company will also bring a 4K model of its 5G TV, labeled L82M6-4K.

Due to the difference in resolution, the power rating of both the TV’s will be different. However, some similar features like the software (MIUI for TV), connectivity ports, and other things should be similar.

What’s unknown for now, is the type of panel which the TV’s will boast. It is speculated that the new Mi TV’s will feature either OLED or LED-backlit LCD. Since the LG display doesn’t supply QLED panels, the only option remains are OLED or LED.

Xiaomi currently sells two OLED TVs, one 65-inch 4K and another 55-inch 1080p under its Mi TV Master series also known as Mi TV LUX. Both of them are however exclusive in china only.

The Chinese giant is yet to reveal the launch date of its latest 82-inch smart television in 4k and 8k resolutions. However with the price being unveiled ts only a matter of time before we get the release date of both the products. It will be interesting to see how well the new 5G TV’s will create ripples in the TV industry.

Samsung makes an exit to TV manufacturing in China

0

It was previously reported the fact that the South Korean giants want to shift all its TV manufacturing in China to alternative countries, favorably Vietnam by the end of this year. Now, it seems even before the year comes to an end, Samsung is already planning to shift its last TV manufacturing factory in Tianjin, China.

Obviously, this will have no impact on the electronics giant’s global availability as it has alternative factories in Vietnam, Mexico, Hungary, Egypt, and other places. Samsung will be shifting its productions to other countries as per the report from Nikkei Asian Review.

So, Samsung will be shutting down its TV operations in Tianjin by the end of November which had been operating for over a decade now. The TV manufacturing plant there operated since 1993 and right now it had about 300 employees. The South Korean giant will also help the employees to reassign its employees to other facilities or even help them find new jobs.

Now, if you ask the reasons for shutting down such an old TV manufacturing plant then you have to know Samsung is planning long-term. Already China is facing trade issues and import/export bans, on top of that, the country’s labor costs have increased significantly. Not just this, Samsung is facing stiff competition by domestic rivals have that has lead Samsung to lose the TV market share in China.

Samsung has a lot of potential globally so, they will be focusing on that, especially in the Western market. It had even shut down its smartphone manufacturing plant in Tianjin two years ago and the Suzhou PC plant. The South Korean giant wants to cut off its dependency on Chinese supply chains and want to expand in other potential countries and invest there, India is one of them.

PREMIER LEAGUE 2020-21: Matchday 1 review

0

After almost 50 days off of our TV screens, the Premier League has finally returned to our screens and the much delayed 20/21 campaign is now underway. Let’s have a look at all the highlights from the first set of fixtures played over the weekend:

Results

  • Fulham 0-3 Arsenal
  • Crystal Palace 1-0 Southampton
  • Liverpool 4-3 Leeds United
  • West Ham United 0-2 Newcastle United
  • West Bromwich Albion 0-3 Leicester City
  • Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Everton
  • Sheffield United 0-2 Wolves
  • Brighton and Hove Albion 1-3 Chelsea

Match of the Week

Liverpool vs Leeds United (4-3)

It was an absolute attacking masterclass as the Premier League Champions took on the victors of the Championship on the very first matchday.

While Leeds did not get to a very encouraging start, conceding a penalty within the first ten minutes which Salah happily converted, they did put up a great fight. Marcelo Bielsa himself came out saying that his team were the better side in some passages. And in all honesty, it was hard to disagree.

While the game looked set to finish on level terms, new signing Rodrygo gifted Liverpool in the dying minutes of regulation time. Salah once again scored from the spot, completing a hat-trick in the process.

Honorable Mention: Fulham 0-3 Arsenal

Arsenal struggling to beat teams from the bottom half seems like too long ago. Mikel Arteta has completely transformed the Gunners into a side that looks sharp and confident in all aspects of the game.

The first matchday was a gentle reminder that Arsenal are still in contention for the top spots. In addition, it was also an early sign that Fulham might be destined for relegation first this season.

Player of the Week: Mohammed Salah

It’s hard to argue with this one. The Egyptian bagged three in the first game of the season and is way ahead of the rest in the race for the Golden Boot.

The forward was on fire throughout the game and looks set to have another great season in the Prem.

Goal of the Week: Reece James vs Brighton

Mohamed Salah was just about to make the Goal of the Week. However, Reece James’s screamer against Brighton ultimately took the cake.

Have a look at the unstoppable shot from well outside the box:

What better way to score your first PL goal?

Man City vs Aston Villa and Man Utd vs Burnley were also scheduled to take place but have been postponed. The Premier League fixtures continue next week with Chelsea vs Liverpool and Man City vs Wolves seeming like the most explosive of the lot.

IPL 2020 will be played without Covid-19 insurance cover

Covid-19 is hitting and impacting the entire world. Sports world is also a part of it.

Like Wimbledon 2020, IPL also wants to protect itself by an insurance cover. But it may not happen as the insurance market has declined to give any such cover. According to them, they cannot give such insurance as Covid-19 is an ongoing process.

After several changes in the schedule because of the Covid-19 pandemic, IPL is finally going to start from 19th September. IPL will not get any insurance if the tournament somehow needs to be cancelled.

Whereas Wimbledon’s organisers got $142M after it was cancelled.

But what is the reason that Wimbledon got the insurance but IPL and other tournaments cannot claim this? In 2003, after since SARS outbreak Wimbledon had been religiously paying close to $31.7M as a premium. This policy helps them to claim the money in this worst scenario. IPL has nothing such insurance.

In an interview with AVP Howden Insurance Brokers, Karan Ruia said, “Yes, there have been many queries as everyone wants COVID cover, Sponsors, franchises and cricket board. But its standard exclusion so nobody will provide it in the Indian market as well as International currently because Covid-19 is an on-going event.”

“As usual franchises and board take Event Cancellation policy, Loss of Player Fee, Group Personal Accident policy, and Group Medical Policy. Since IPL 2020 is happening in Dubai, the recent edition is overseas Medi-claim policy”, he said about the insurance IPL teams ask for.

“On the event cancellation front, the limit has increased drastically. For example: If an entity was taking a policy for 50 Cr for insuring their event in India, that has now gone up to 250 Cr since their expenses have increased this time. The premium rates have also changed now, earlier it was convenient to find capacities in the Indian market as a Sports Sector but now after Pandemic events and since the limits have increased drastically in IPL, now most of the Insurance companies are finding it difficult to offer 100% capacities” he further added.

This will be a very interesting thing to know what kind of steps BCCI take to handle this tough situation and also what decision they make to not to face this kind of situation in the future.
