AMD delayed the Radeon RX 6700 non-XT launch

0

We know AMD has teased the launch of the Radeon RX 6700 series on March 3rd and we anticipated that it will launch two of the GPUs as in the non-XT and XT variants. However, Cowcotland has claimed that the cut-down Navi 22 is not launching with the Radeon RX 6700XT.

AMD is said to show the RX 6700 XT only, the full-fat Navi22 model that should again stir the mid-range GPU market as its predecessor RX 5700 XT was one of the best 1440p gaming GPUs, widely preferred by gamers. It’s not that AMD is canceling the launch of RX 6700 but just delaying it:

We have some new information on AMD’s announcement on March 3. Only the RX 6700 XT will be announced. There was indeed an RX 6700 in the red program, for March 15th, but it has been delayed (for the moment) and we will therefore only have the RX 6700 XT which will be commercially available on March 18th.

Coming to the stock situation, unlike the weak Radeon RX 6800 series launch, the RX 6700 series launch is predicted to be a better one. Still, only 100 reference cards will be coming to France, according to Cowcotland, better than the double-digit figures of the RX 6800 series.

The Radeon RX 6700 XT specs include 40 compute units with 2560 stream processors, up to 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, and a 192-bit memory bus. A non-XT desktop version with only 6 GB of VRAM and dynamic TGP running between 146 and 156 W is also rumored to be launched.

Also, it reported by Videocardz that AIBs have been stocking these cards for quite some time and the situation will better than last time as there will be stocks but not enough to meet the excessive demands.

Framework laptops offer upgradable specs including 4TB or more NVMe storage

0

The framework is a startup based in San Francisco, and it has recently decided to embark on a journey towards its most ambitious project yet. According to sources, the startup will be creating a thin, lightweight productivity laptop that can be “upgraded, customized, and repaired in ways that no other notebook can.”

The founder of Framework, Nirav Patel told, me that the company aims to address his long-standing frustrations with consumer technology companies.

“As a consumer electronics company, your business model effectively depends on churning out constant tons of hardware and pushing it into channels, and into the market, and consumers’ hands, and then sort of dropping it and letting it exist out there. It encourages waste and inefficiency, and ultimately environmental damage.”

From what we know so far, the Framework laptop comes with:

  • 13.5-inch 2256 x 1504 screen
  • 1080p 60fps webcam
  • 55Wh battery
  • 2.87-pound aluminum chassis
  • 11th Gen Intel processors
  • up to 64GB of DDR4 memory
  • “4TB or more” of Gen4 NVMe storage.

Buyers can swap out and upgrade various internal parts of the Framework, including the RAM, battery, and storage. But the company is trying to give even more freedom to its buyers.

The first is that users can also customize and upgrade external components of the chassis, including the keyboard, screen, bezels (which are magnetically attached), and ports (via an expansion card system). This is something which we are hearing for the first time.

— The second is that Framework will be selling its modules in a centralized online marketplace. If your screen cracks or you feel like changing your bezels, you can find replacements that are custom-made for your laptop on the manufacturer’s site itself. The components are printed with QR codes that, when scanned, will bring you straight to a purchase page for their upgrades. It sounds pretty cool, I am impressed.

— The third is that users can also purchase a “DIY” kit of your selected parts, which you can then use to assemble the laptop yourself. It provides the user’s options like which OS to install. Be it any Linux distro or any Windows 10 variant.

Still, all this is just a conceptual idea for now and it all depends on whether the start-up can pull it off. And Framework is not the first company to go for such a venture. Big names like Dell and Intel have also undertaken similar projects only to disappoint in the end.

Patel, for his part, believes that “Other companies, they put it out there, and someone internally decided, ‘Eh, we’re going to focus on something else this year,’ and shut down the project. This is not something we’re dabbling in. It’s not a side project for us that someone thought was interesting. This is the core of our company.”

“We are releasing new modules, and upgrades, and accessories, and so on to drive the health of the ecosystem, and we’re going to continue doing that for as long as customers want us to,” Patel adds.

The framework will be taking preorders this spring, and the device is expected to ship this summer.

India could get the invitation to play Copa America

Team India is hoping to have an invitation to play in Copa America for the next edition after narrowly missing out on 2021 due to scheduled issues.

Recently, AIFF confirmed that India had a chance to play in Copa America 2021 which was re-scheduled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic last year.

AIFF general secretary Das told TOI, “There were two Asian teams, Qatar and Australia, invited for Copa America. Australia couldn’t make it due to various commitments. They actually then spoke to India and to CONMEBOL (South American Football Confederation), who were excited to get India. They were very interested in having us play.”

Copa America is scheduled to be played in June. However, the Asian Football Federation (AFC) deferred the FIFA World Cup qualifiers from March-April to June. So, India had to decline the offer of playing in Copa America 2021.

“There were scheduling issues. The Copa America is in June and we were trying to see if the qualifiers could be played earlier in March/April. But it did not work out for some of the countries [in the group] like Bangladesh and Afghanistan”-Das added.

It could have been a great opportunity for the Blue Tigers to play alongside Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and some other American countries. India coach Igor Stimac revealed, “We were all really excited. There was a chance for us to go there, instead of Australia. This would have been a wonderful experience. In the future, hopefully, we will be invited.”

India now can only hope for the best in the next edition.

During the series of flop signings by the Catalonian giants, FC Barcelona, one of the flop was the €41m signing of Brazilian forward Malcom from Bordeaux which was later proved as a transfer market error from the Catalonian giants.

The forward was on the list of the Blaugranas in the 2018/19 campaign and netted four goals in 24 appearances, with the most famous strike of him scoring up against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-finals, however, he also scored against Inter in the Champions League.

Hawks’ Danilo Gallinari records historic 10 treys helping defeat Celtics

0

In a span of eight days, the Atlanta Hawks returned to the State Farm Arena for their third matchup against the Boston Celtics. After splitting the first two meetings, the Hawks exploded in a 127-112 home win on Wednesday, with Danilo Gallinari putting together a night for the history books.

Gallinari erupted for a season-high 38 points (13-16 FG, 10-12 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals in 33 minutes. He set a franchise record with 10 three-pointers breaking the club record of nine three-pointers set by Steve Smith in March 1997 against the Seattle SuperSonics. Gallinari’s previous best was eight three-pointers in October 2009. He also became only the third player in league history to score a minimum of 10 threes in a game after coming off the bench.

Atlanta’s Trae Young added 33 points, 25 of which were in the first half, and seven assists. It was the 12th time he surpassed the 30-point mark this season. The last time Atlanta had two players with 20 points at halftime was Joe Johnson and Al Harrington in December 2005. John Collins put together a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double.

Collectively, the Hawks recorded 13 three-pointers in the first half, tying a franchise record for threes in any half — seven of which came from Gallinari — as they stretched their advantage over the Celtics to as many as 27 points in the first half. The team scored over 1.3 points per possession for the entire night.

Meanwhile, Boston’s Jaylen Brown got 17 points, Jeff Teague added 14 points and Tristan Thompson, Jayson Tatum and Aaron Nesmith each contributed 13 apiece. Thompson also managed to grab a game-high 13 rebounds. Guard Kemba Walker was given the night off for load management of his left knee.

The Hawks have now won three of their past five games while the Celtics have lost three in a row. Atlanta lead the season series 2-1, and they broke Boston’s five-game winning streak at home.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Lite with Snapdragon 750G appears on Geekbench

0

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Lite is the upcoming Tablet model from the South Korean-based manufacturer. The tab is rumored to feature a 12.4-inch LTPS TFT screen with 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. New specifications about the Samsungs soon to be released tablet has emerged online via Twitter leaker @StuffListings.

According to the Geekbench database, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Lite will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC. It has a single-core score of 650 and a multi-core score of 1,694. The leaked variant on Geekbench was running 4GB of RAM and Android 11. The device was listed as the SM-T736B, indicating that the device is a part of the Galaxy Tab S7 series.

The specs we know so far about Samsung’s yet-to-be-released tablet suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Lite will be an entry-level tablet. Even the choice of the SoC, which Samsung will be using to power the tablet, suggests that the device will be a performance-optimized and affordable tablet.

5G-ready low-cost tablets are somewhat rare, and that alone should be enough to make it an attractive buy. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Lite could support S Pen inputs; it is unlikely that an S Pen will be included along with the tablet.

So far, complete specs are not yet known, and the model that appeared on Geekbench seems like an engineering model used for testing and teasing purposes. So the news should be taken with a grain of salt. Still, let’s wait for some more updates to come.

Nvidia’s upcoming CMP crypto mining cards will be based on Turing GPUs

0

When Nvidia announced that it will soon be releasing its upcoming CMP crypto mining card, we were all worried about the supply constraint problem. As we all know, Nvidia is currently in a tight spot as it is still facing a shortage in the supply of its 8nm Ampere GPUs.

As such, everyone worried that there won’t be enough CMP cards to fulfill the demands. But according to Videocardz, NVIDIA’s upcoming CMP crypto mining cards won’t use Ampere GPUs but will leverage older Turing hardware built on the 12nm process. The Turing-based crypto mining cards will not have an impact on Ampere supply. It’s a win-win situation for all.

According to sources, the CMP 30HX has an ETH hash rate of 26 MH/s and will be based on TU116, the same GPU powering the GeForce GTX 1660 Super and GeForce GTX 1650 Super. But the CMP 40HX will be based on the TU106 GPU that powers the GeForce RTX 2060.

The green team has announced two more CMP cards, the CMP 50HX, and CMP 90HX. Both the CMP 50HX and CMP 90HX feature 10GB VRAM buffers and a 320W TDP. Going with the specs, the 50HX and 90HX will most likely be the Ampere GPUs. But need not worry as they are both poised for a Q2 2021 launch, by which time Ampere GPU supply might improve.

Tesla closed its Fremont plant to a shortage in parts

Elon Mush-led Tesla is the world’s largest manufacturer of electric vehicles and has been busy with its recent venture into the Indian market. but with his recent Tweet the company’s CEO, Elon Musk stated that the company’s Fremont, California plant will be shut down for two days this week due to “parts shortages” and had reopened on Wednesday.

According to sources, Tesla’s shares fell 8% during the day after the production of Tesla’s less expensive sedan, the Model 3, had been temporarily suspended. The main reason was the shortage of parts.

We have already seen the reports that the shortage of supply of chips has plagued the automakers. It is the very reason why manufacturers like General Motors, Volkswagen, and Ford, have been forced to scale down production.

“We are experiencing some parts supply issues, so we took the opportunity to bring Fremont down for a few days to do equipment upgrades and maintenance.”

The CEO also stated that the company was scaling up production of its more expensive Model S and Model X lines, soon going back to two shifts.

However, the global semiconductor shortage has severely hit the company, which produces the highest number of Electric vehicles in a year.

“This is an industrywide problem rather than anything Tesla-specific. But this episode provides a handy reminder that EV manufacturing is subject to periodic supply chain bottlenecks, whether related to chips, or batteries, or other components.”

Samsung Electronics had suspended its factory in Austin, Texas as a winter storm caused power outages. The Tesla chips are made in the Texas factory of Samsung. As such, this has directly impacted Tesla’s EV manufacturing plants.

The Fremont plant has an annual production capacity of 500,000 Model 3s and Model Ys combined. So the financial impact of halting the production at such an important plant could very well cause Tesla a huge load sum of money.

Nvidia’s first full quarterly sales report shows the company’s substantial growth

0

During the pandemic, we have already seen the demand for the Nvidia’s GPUs going up, and the recent rise in crypto mining has yet again proved that Nvidia is the best in the business there is. The green team recently revealed the first full quarterly sales of its GTX RTX 30 ‘Ampere’ consumer and enterprise GPU lineup today.

We already know that Nvidia is yet again aiming for high goals and has been a recent hot topic due to its $40 billion attempt at acquiring British design house Arm Ltd. the company was up by 3% in aftermarket trading at 16:43 EST today after the company reported a whopping 59% year-over-year revenue growth for its fiscal year 2021 at the close of trading today.

But the biggest part of Nvidia’s fourth-quarter earnings comes from its Gaming revenue. At the end of the third quarter, the Santa Clara, California company reported $2.2 billion in revenue from the gaming segment.

The launch was however interested because Nvidia was unable to keep up with the demand factor for its cards. The problem still haunts the manufacturer as the demand for the product outpaced retailer supply.

So despite reporting $2.5 billion revenue, it is still not the full potential that the Santa Clara company can reach. compared to Q4 FY 2020, NVIDIA’s inventory grew by $851 million or 85%, and when compared to the third quarter, it grew by a staggering $34 million or 23%.

Apart from the gaming segment, the company also reported second-biggest sales in the quarter was due to static datacenter sales, which managed to maintain third-quarter levels despite a drop in contribution from Mellanox. Mellanox had contributed 30% to NVIDIA’s revenues in the prior quarter, and contribution for FY 2021 stood at 10%.

The growth shown by the company is reasonable as the green teams in attempting to deal with the supply shortage problem. The demand for chips is increasing in the market, and it seems that Nvidia is finally heading in the right direction to solve the problem.
