Although, the company has not revealed the actual launch date it has been tipped that the Red Magic 6 will arrive in the market on March 4 this year. On the other hand, another tipster has claimed that this phone will have a refresh rate of 144Hz and a touch sampling rate of 480Hz. As of now, any of those is not confirmed by the company.

A gaming phone must have a powerful processor for high-end gaming. Reports have come out, saying that the Red Magic will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core chipset.

Being a gaming phone, battery backup is another important thing to look out for. The Red Magic 6 could have two models, one vanilla and one pro. The vanilla one is expected to have a support of 66W fast charging and the Pro one will be charged by a 120W fast charging (4,500mAH battery) which is something really massive. Ni Fei. CEO of Nubia has revealed that this phone will come with an in-box charger and with the 120W fast charging it will charge 0% to 50% in just 5 minutes. He also explained how the safety of the battery is prioritized because of the heat generated by that 120W fast charger.

Apart from it, the company also gave a detailed look at the cooling feature of this phone occurs. It has an air duct in which a 20,000rpm active fan is there to suck the air. Behind the motherboard, there is a large copper foil, covering the battery, while a vapor chamber (the world’s thinnest at 0.33mm, Nubia claims). For more, there is a graphite layer as well to disperse heat away from the chipset. Nubia claims that you can enjoy non-stop two hours of high-end gaming without getting the device hot.

Timberwolves’ Malik Beasley suspended for 12 games after guilty plea

On Thursday, the NBA announced that Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley for 12 games, stemming from his arrest and felony gun charge during the offseason.

The announcement read:

“Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley has been suspended 12 games without pay for pleading guilty to a felony charge of threatening to commit a crime of violence for the purpose of terrorizing another person, in violation of the law of the State of Minnesota, the NBA announced today.  The incident occurred on Sept. 26, 2020.

Beasley will begin serving his suspension on Saturday, Feb. 27 when the Timberwolves visit the Washington Wizards.”

“As an organization, we fully support today’s decision by the NBA,” said Timberwolves president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas, in a statement issued soon after the suspension was announced. “As we work together with Malik to advance his development as a player and a person, we look forward to seeing his growth.”

Earlier this month, Beasley agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors that saw felony drug charges against him get dropped in exchange for the guilty plea. As a result, Beasley was sentenced to 120 days in jail, which could be served either in the county workhouse or in home confinement, after the NBA season is over mid-May. The suspension will cost Beasley about $1.1 million.

On Thursday afternoon, Beasley made a statement about his suspension:

“I will take this time to reflect on my decisions. I apologize to all the great fans out there who have supported me during this difficult time and I promise I will come back very soon as a better person and player.”

Last September, the 24-year-old was arrested after he pointed a gun at individuals in a car that was parked in front of his house, while warning them to vacate the property. According to police reports, he continued to point the gun at the car as it drove away. In addition to this, when officers arrived on the scene they smelled marijuana and issued a search warrant for his property. While searching his house large amounts of marijuana and a stolen gun were found. 

Beasley entered a plea deal, which resulted in the prosecutors dropping the felony drug charges, and instead he pled guilty to one felony count of threats of violence. He was also facing a felony charge of receiving or concealing stolen property, but he was not convicted of that. Additionally, the court issued him a lifetime ban on owning guns. 

The guard was traded to Minnesota last February, and signed a four-year, $60 million contract with the Timberwolves in the offseason. Minnesota owns a league-worst record of 7-26, and has lost six games consecutively, as well as 10 of their previous 11 games.

BioWare Officially Cancels Anthem Next, Devs Will Move to Dragon Age 4

According to some recent reports, soon EA would be deciding the fate of BioWare’s beleaguered live service action-RPG Anthem, and today the decision came out – the “Anthem Next” project is now officially canceled. BioWare has announced their objectives to “reinvent” Anthem back in early 2020 and since then, we have received some scattered progress updates, but it doesn’t seem that much development was being made. Via the cancellation announcement, BioWare has partially blamed the COVID-19 for preventing their approaches to save Anthem and informs that they will now focus on Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

You can read the statement of Christian Dailey, the BioWare executive producer, below:

“In the spirit of transparency and closure we wanted to share that we’ve made the difficult decision to stop our new development work on Anthem (aka Anthem NEXT). We will, however, continue to keep the Anthem live service running as it exists today. Since Anthem’s launch, the team has been working hard to continually improve the game, releasing multiple updates that brought with them a variety of improvements and introduced new content to play. Towards the end of 2019 we expanded on that effort and started working on a more fundamental restructure of the game.”

“2020 was a year unlike any other however and while we continue to make progress against all our game projects at BioWare, working from home during the pandemic has had an impact on our productivity and not everything we had planned as a studio before COVID-19 can be accomplished without putting undue stress on our teams.”

“I know this will be disappointing to the community of Anthem players who have been excited to see the improvements we’ve been working on. It’s also disappointing for the team who were doing brilliant work. And for me personally, Anthem is what brought me to BioWare, and the last two years have been some of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my career.”

“Game development is hard. Decisions like these are not easy. Moving forward, we need to laser focus our efforts as a studio and strengthen the next Dragon Age, and Mass Effect titles while continuing to provide quality updates to Star Wars: The Old Republic. Jason Schreier from Bloomberg, who revealed the original story about Anthem’s possible cancellation, assumes that the developers who are working on the game will shift on to Dragon Age 4.

BioWare informs the game will continue to be playable even after the development cease. Anthem is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
