Vivo X60 Pro+ vs OnePlus 9 Pro: Which new camera smartphone is better?

Two much-talked smartphones have been launched in the last week in the Indian market. We are talking about the Vivo X60 Pro+ and OnePlus 9 Pro made finally to the Indian market and are almost ready for sale. Let’s compare which device has what to offer.

Display

Vivo X60 Pro+ attributes a 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and comes with a screen resolution of 2,376 × 1,080 pixels with a high refresh rate of 120 Hz. OnePlus 9 Pro offers a longer 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO display and has a high refresh rate of 120 Hz. Based on length, the OnePlus 9 Pro just beats Vivo X60 Pro+.

Processor

Both the devices are powered by Qualcomm’s latest chipset, Snapdragon 888 mobile processor. OnePlus 9 Pro’s chip is coupled with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. On the other hand, Vivo X60 Pro+ has 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage.

Camera

Vivo X60 Pro+ comes with a quad-rear camera setup which includes a 50MP Samsung GN1 Sensor, a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor, a 32 MP portrait lens and an 8MP periscope lens. OnePlus 9 Pro features a similar quad rear camera setup but this includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX789 primary sensor, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 secondary sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto shooter, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. We can spot the presence of the Hasselblad brand on OnePlus 9 Pro cameras. Hasselblad is a Swedish camera manufacturer which is highly rated worldwide. Their efficiency can be mapped out with the fact that they captured the lunar landings during NASA’s Apollo missions. Hasselblad will bring its iconic colour science to OnePlus 9 Pro which will help users to take better pictures. The capture will improve skin tone and will provide you with ecstatic photos under artificial or natural light.

ExTt0eUUUAMdBJ5 5 Vivo X60 Pro+ vs OnePlus 9 Pro: Which new camera smartphone is better?

Similar to the OnePlus, Vivo X60 Pro + comes with Zeiss lenses. Zeiss is a German manufacturer of optical systems. This flagship takes the camera specification to one notch above with its gimbal stabilization 2.0 and periscope lens. The company also says that they have improved stabilization with this smartphone. Even if you zoom in on your photos, Vivo X60 Pro+ offers you details of the subject rather than a blurred image seen in many other smartphones. In fact, is 30X Zoomed capture is considered one of the best in the market right now. Definitely, a smartphone to beat in terms of optics!

Battery and Fast Charging

OnePlus 9 Pro houses a 4500mAh battery which is paired with Warp Charge 65T fast charging. As compared to this, Vivo X60 Pro+ is packed with a smaller 4,200mAh battery cell and is paired with 55W fast-charging support.

Price

Vivo X60 Pro+ 5G also has a single variant of 12 GB + 256 GB storage and is priced at Rs 69,990. On the other hand, the OnePlus 9 Pro comes in two variants with two different prices:

  • 8 GB + 128 GB: Rs. 64,999
  • 12 GB + 256 GB: Rs. 69,999

Our Thoughts

The OnePlus 9 Pro offers a bigger display and comes with better battery specifications overall. Whereas, Vivo X60 Pro+ 5G 32 MP portrait lens and much better selfie snapper beat OnePlus 9 Pro in terms of optics. The fight in display and battery domains are still very close but in optics, Vivo X60 Pro+ 5G seems to be comfortably ahead of the OnePlus 9 Pro. As the price of the 12 GB + 256 GB model is the same, I might be tempted to go for the Vivo X60 Pro+ 5G. Personal opinion varies for everyone.

Both SpaceX and OneWeb eyeing UK’s Gigabit program

The geo-satellite network is one of the rising global networks and two of the main rivals in the business, OneWeb, and SpaceX and racing to acquire deals from various government organizations.

This week it was reported that OneWeb has successfully launched 36 Satellites into the earth’s orbit. On the other-hand its rival, SpaceX offers Starlink, which is already offering its beta internet services to its clients.

But, what both these rivals are aiming for is to get deals from the governments to connect to large rural areas. One such area which is the main target of both the rivals is the Arctic region of the US. Mostly isolated and largely unpopulated and un-explored the Arctic is a broadband desert.

According to sources, SpaceX wants in on the UK’s new $6.9 billion Project Gigabit program, which aims to provide “lightning-fast” broadband internet to areas with little to no internet access.

The company was rescued from bankruptcy last year by the British government and Indian telecom giant Bharti Global and is also in talks with the program.

“We’ve also had conversations with [UK Minister for Digital Infrastructure Matt Warman], and indeed with his boss, and indeed with his boss’s boss, on what could be done with OneWeb,” stated OneWeb’s government affairs chief Chris McLaughlin.

OneWeb states that it wants to “repay the confidence in the UK government” in its bid for rural internet subsidies since the government helped in pulling OneWeb out of bankruptcy.

As far as specifications are concerned, the NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti is based on the GA104-400 GPU and has 6144 CUDA cores divided into 48 GPU clusters. It will also feature 48 RT cores. According to leaked information, the ROPs will be 96 for the card but the clock speed is not yet confirmed. It will feature a 256-bit memory bus with 8 GB or 16 GB GDDR6X memory clocked at 19 Gbps. The card as stated above is scheduled for release in May 2021 alongside the RTX 3080 Ti.

The RTX 3080 Ti which also has a similar release date has 12 more GPU clusters than the RTX 3080 for a total of 10240 cores. The card has 80 RT cores and 112 ROPs. The card is stated to comes with a 12 GB GDDR6X VRAM buffer and a 384-bit bus for a total of 912 GB/s.  the card is stated to be only very slightly, less-powerful, than the RTX 3090.

But as things stand both the cards, especially the RTX 3080 Ti will likely never end up in gamer’s hands and will spend its many digital cycles toiling away in a cryptocurrency mine somewhere.

All you need to know about the Realme V13 ahead of the March 31 launch

Realme has the habit of launching a better version of a series and then it launches the lower version of it. It happened quite a lot of time and this time also the Realme V13 is launching almost after a couple of months from the Realme V15 launch. The upcoming smartphone seems like a middle version of the Realme V15 and Realme V11 5G, as it has a hole-punch display like the former while the rear with its camera housing is similar to the latter.

Realme V13

The above poster image has been shared by a user named “Arsenal” on Weibo. It shows the Realme V13 will have a punch-hole display, a quad rear camera setup, and a Type-C charging port. The poster reveals that the phone will have a 90Hz display and it will come with a 5,000mAh battery. The poster also mentions 5G connectivity and 256GB storage. We can also see two colour options for the phone including black and blue colours.

Realme V13 specs

As per the user, the Realme V13 will be similar to the Realme V5 and Q2 but in this case, the processor will be replaced by MediaTek Dimensity 700. He also mentions that the 8GB + 256GB variant will go on sale at 1799 Yuan (~$275).

From the back, the phone does look like the Realme 8 series smartphone that has recently launched in India. The Realme V series is exclusive for the Chinese market like the base Realme series from which the recent Realme 8 belongs. We feel that Realme V13 after launching in China might also debut in India as the 5G variant of the Realme 8 series which Madav had promised during the last launch event of the Realme 8 series.
