AMD’s Zen 4 will bring 25% IPC improvement, Zen 3+ Warhol to launch in Q4 2021

0

AMD is on a spree to launch new processors every now and then, while each of them providing significant improvements over last-gen. It’s only been a few months since we got the Zen 3 based CPUs and already we have rumours about AMD’s next-line of CPUs.

It will take some time for AMD to announce Zen 4 and Zen 5, and now they have started to make refreshed CPUs as well, almost what they did with Zen+, Zen 2+ and it expected that AMD would refresh the Zen 3 line as well at the end of this year.

AMD's Zen 4 will bring 25% IPC improvement, Zen 3+ Warhol to launch in Q4 2021

Zen 4 & Zen 5

The much anticipated Zen 4 microarchitecture will be based on TSMC’s 5nm node, and that should provide significant improvements. Chips and Cheese suggest with a pinch of salt that Zen 4 will bring 25% IPC gain over Zen 3 and a huge 40% overall performance improvement.

Also, with Zen 4 we could see all core boost to 5 GHz as with 5nm efficiency, the TDP is supposed to decrease, helping to provide more performance on the same die. When Zen 3 focussed mostly on the single-core performance, Zen 4 could take advantage of a finer node without having to sacrifice on the efficiency.

AMD's 2021-2022 Ryzen roadmap leaked: Warhol, Van Gogh & Cezanne are real
via Videocardz

Not only desktop CPUs but also Zen 4-based EPYC Genoa server chips will also benefit from 5nm process. So, without having to sacrifice on efficiency the next-gen AMD server chips will be 29% faster, with the same clock rates and identical core configuration.

Talking about Zen 5 architecture, which is still in its research stage, is rumoured to provide a potential IPC uplift of +40% from Zen 4. This is info is already tagged to be less assured than Zen 4’s, and even if Zen 5 is based on 3nm, those high gains seem unrealistic, but you never know what AMD is possible of.

Though Zen 5 is still far away, for sure AMD is not resting to give this excellent momentum it has gained.

AMD's Zen 4 will bring 25% IPC improvement, Zen 3+ Warhol to launch in Q4 2021

Zen 3+

It seems most likely the Zen 3 refresh or dubbed as Zen 3+ Warhol should be AMD’s answer to tackle Intel’s promising Alder Lake-S CPUs based on 10nm process. Much like what we saw with Ryzen 3000XT processors, we will see refreshed Ryzen 5000 processors at the end of this year.

RedGamingTech‘s sources have confirmed that Warhol will release sometime later this year presumably in Q4 2021, as speculated previously. So, the core counts and the architecture will remain the same, but we could see a minor bump in IPC if AMD pushes the clock speeds well within the thermal limits.

Also, good news for gamers and enthusiasts come with the information that AMD is most likely to retain its much loved AM4 socket for another generation. So, there will not be significant changes for the motherboards with the same PCIe Gen4 support and Warhol should also max out at 16-core 32-threads as Rocket Lake-S is limited to 8 cores only.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X crushes Geekbench database totally

Warhol will not be a generation to crush Intel but let everyone know AMD has something to challenge its competitors, so do not expect unrealistic improvements on the same 7nm process. While Intel’s 16-core, 24-threaded Alder Lake-S engineering sample has been spotted on Geekbench to provide Core i9-10900K like performance.

So, even if Intel matches AMD’s multi-threaded performance somehow, AMD could something to answer with in the form of Warhol and challenge in 2022 with 5nm based Zen 4. This is the reason why AMD is still focussing to get as much of 7nm nodes from TSMC this year, potentially becoming the largest importer in 2021.

Redmi K40 live image leaked | BIS Certification reveals imminent Indian launch

0

A few days ago Xiaomi had finally revealed the launch date of the most awaited and most popular Redmi K40 series that will include a vanilla version and a Pro model. The launch date is scheduled for 25th February where in addition to the vanilla and Pro models we can expect a Lite version as well.

The company has not revealed any more information about the smartphone except a few like it is “very very beautiful”, it will feature Snapdragon 888 SoC, it will have the smallest punch hole camera and few others. Other than this, detailed key specifications of the series have been revealed via the TENAA website. We will update that news shortly after verifying the authenticity of the information.

Until then let’s see the leaked image of the Redmi K40. But some say it is an edited image that can be noticed if looked closely around the rear camera bump and the flash.

Source: Weibo

Today it is noticed that the Redmi K40 model has been listed in the BIS Certification. The model number listed in the certification seems like the vanilla version and now as the Redmi K40 is BIS Certified the India launch seems to be very close. Along with the Redmi K40 smartphone, the Mi 11 5G has also been certified by the BIS and now we are waiting for both devices to debut in India.

As per the TENAA listing, the Redmi K40 (M2012K11AC) will be available in a pale blue color with a centered punch-hole flat display. As per the camera module, it looks like an elongated version of that of the Mi 11. We can see a power button and the volume rocker on the right side.

Three Reasons Why Frank Lampard Got The Sack

0

While Chelsea’s decision to sack Frank Lampard was not the greatest surprise, the timing perhaps was and with the West London outfit still in with a chance of finishing in the Premier League’s top four, the subsequent mid-season change of coaching personnel was a strange one.

Then again, on the evidence of how Lampard’s successor has performed thus far, you would have to say that the appointment of Thomas Tuchel has been a rather shrewd one and especially after the Blues are unbeaten in the Premier League since his arrival.

Tuchel has overseen three wins and a draw and in doing so, has given Chelsea a real shot in the arm regarding the club’s hopes of once again competing in the Champions League next season and of course, there is every chance that they could win this year’s edition of the competition.

However, if there is to be a success, that will be at some point in the future, as now we are going to look back at the past and dissect the three major reasons why Frank Lampard was sacked as Chelsea manager.

TRANSFER FRUSTRATION

With Frank Lampard being afforded so much money over the course of last summer, there was always going to be notable pressure on the former Derby County manager and with the ranks being bolstered, one wonders why the 42-year-old kept asking more of the Chelsea board.

This was the equivalent of Uncle Roman Abramovich already giving the former Chelsea manager all the toys he could ask for and with Lampard demanding the sanction of Declan Rice’s signing from West Ham, there is a sense that this was one request too many.

To the point, where the Chelsea board took a notable amount of umbrage with Lampard’s persistent requests and with the message being to the tone of work with what you already have, this created a large amount of friction behind the scenes.

Ultimately, this was Lampard attempting to spend his way out of trouble and when you consider how much financial outlay had already taken place at Stamford Bridge, it only created more trouble for the former Chelsea midfielder.

FAILURE TO GET THE BEST OUT OF BIG NAMES

With such largesse in terms of expenditure, the focus was always going to be on the big money moves of both Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, as the two German internationals swapped the Bundesliga for Stamford Bridge.

With Chelsea reportedly beating Liverpool in the race to land Werner and a whole host of top European clubs attempting to land Havertz, much was expected of the former RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen stars.

Unfortunately, things didn’t pan out as hoped for Lampard and although Havertz can be absolved of his lacklustre form after suffering from the effects of COVID-19, the same mitigating circumstance cannot be afforded to his international teammate.

To the point where, such underperformance was always going to create a rod for the man who brought them to the club, and this only served to add another entry on the ever-growing charge sheet against Lampard.

FADING FORM

Of course, football is a results business, and this is something that Chelsea were not delivering under Lampard and with the Blues slipping down the table, their outright Premier League odds were only getting bigger by the week.

In the last eight league outings that Chelsea’s former manager oversaw, the Blues lost five and with such a wretched run being recorded, the club board were seriously concerned about the lack of return on summer investment.

Because for such a sizable outlay, it really is a case of top four or bust (or winning the Champions League outright) and under the guidance of the man who won 106 caps for England, this prospect was only becoming further diminished.

Which meant a decision to stick or twist for the club’s owner and if the status quo remained, there is every chance Chelsea’s season would have fizzled out. However, the decision to twist and install a new incumbent is one that is already paying dividends.

SUMMARY

As so often in football, it is never one sole reason why something goes wrong at a football club, it is usually several factors that are interchangeable and with the evidence above, this is exactly what happened with Frank Lampard at Chelsea.

Everything about Manchester United’s new teenage sensation Shola Shoretire

0

Manchester United academy always produced some of the stars of world football. From Paul Scholes, David Beckham to Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, the list is very long in recent times.

Shola Shoretire can be the next big thing about Manchester United academy. The 17-year-old recently signed his professional contract with Manchester United. But who is this Shola Shoretire?

Shoretire was born on February 2, 2004, in Newcastle. He spent his early childhood in the North East and played for esteemed Wallsend Boys Club – following in the footsteps of Peter Beardsley, Alan Shearer, Michael Carrick and Lee Clark. He joined Manchester United academy at the age 10.

Shoretire is a very versatile forward. He preferred to play on the wing. But he has shown his ability to play in every other position in the forward line. His strength is his passing along with the skills he possesses on the ball. Since his joining at Manchester United academy he used to play with the age-group elder to his. Recently he scored a hat-trick against Blackburn Rovers in the U-23 tie. After that excellent performance, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer allowed him to practice with the first team.

Manchester United is a team that has always believed in youth rather than famous players. And if the youths are an academy graduate, then that is more preferable. From the time of Sir Matt Busby, this legacy continued in the time of Sir Alex Ferguson as well. Sir Alex Ferguson has got the ‘Class of 92’ from the United academy and then conquered the world.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from his first day in charge of Manchester United always wanted to maintain the legacy of the club. He has given the youth all the opportunity to prosper. Mason Greenwood, Brandon Williams, Scott McTominay are the prime examples.

17-year-old Shola Shoretire from Manchester United academy has all the possibilities to become one of the top players in future. Red Devils hope that Shola Shoretire lives up to the expectations and follows the footsteps of Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, and will make Manchester United great again.

Tottenham Hotspur face £1.17billion debt, even more than FC Barcelona

0

Tottenham Hotspur’s chief Daniel Levy faces a massive debt of £1.17 billion after Tottenham’s stadium construction.

Recently, the debt of FC Barcelona has come out to the public. But Tottenham Hotspurs’ debt is much more than that. According to a report from football finance expert Kieran Maguire, Tottenham has a debt of £1.17 billion whereas Barcelona is second on the list with a debt of £1.03 billion.

Tottenham recently constructed a new 62,303-seater stadium. It costs £1.2 billion for chairman Daniel Levy. It is one of the most expensive stadiums globally, boasting of the world’s first dividing retractable pitch to accommodate other sports. The club has signed a blockbuster deal with the NFL.

It was expected that the debt would be adjusted by generating more matchday revenue. But the start of the pandemic affected the plan and Levy currently finds himself under pressure to clear off the debts.

As per the report, Tottenham’s gross debt is £831 million. They also have £140 million transfer debt, £96 million tax debts, £9 million in trade creditors, and £102 million in others. The total debts of the club are £1.177 billion.

FC Barcelona has a greater short-term debt of £641 million compared to the Lilywhites’ £355 million. However, Spurs have £823 million of long-term debt compared to Barca’s £389 million.

Tottenham have signed some big names last summer. Sergio Reguillon, Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg joined in a permanent deal and Gareth Bale joined on loan. To fulfil the debt Spurs will have to sell some of the players next summer. Dele Alli and some others are on the list.

Samuel Umtiti rejected the chance to join Liverpool in January

FC Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti rejected the chance to join Liverpool in January.

Liverpool has faced some difficulties in defence this season as Virgil Van Dijk, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez all were out with injury. Liverpool was forced to play without a proper centre back in the squad. Recently they lost back to back games at Anfield in the Premier League. Some ex-players and fans suggested Jurgen Klopp to sign a centre back. But the German boss clearly said that he does not want to spend money in panic buy. Finally, on the deadline day, they signed Ozan Kabak from Schalke.

But as per the report, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wanted Samuel Umtiti as the stopgap defender for the remainder of the season. Samuel Umtiti is now completely out of favour of Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman. He has played just five times in La Liga this season. As per the report, Liverpool has approached him in January. But Umtiti rejected the offer as he wants to fight for his place in the FC Barcelona squad.

Samuel Umtiti joined FC Barcelona in 2016 from Lyon. The French defender has made 124 appearances for the Spanish giant. The 27 years old defender is very composed in defence. But he has some repeated injury issues which affect his rhythm.

It could have been the deal of the window if went through. It can also help Samuel Umtiti to get some game-time. But he thought some other way.
