OnePlus Nord SE live image along with the box: The Reality that meets a Dead End

0

Yes the title of this article is not misleading, it is actually here. So why isn’t everyone talking about this and the new design seems pretty unique, so what happened to this? The OnePlus Nord SE has its own story to uncover, and we will discuss it in this article.

The SE in the name stands for Special Edition and we certainly think about some brands collaborating with the smartphone company to deliver a pretty unique smartphone with a unique design resulted from the collaboration. OnePlus has collaborated with a bunch of well-known brands like Colette, JCC, McLaren, CD Projekt Red, and more in the past for its Special Edition smartphones.

Among these, you can recall the McLaren Edition smartphone that has electro-chromatic camera glass that made the camera disappear making the cover glass over the camera lenses electro-chromatic. This time OnePlus had collaborated with Reality to Idea, a design studio and production house based in Southern California founded by Joshua Vides. As per Recalled, ‘Reality to Idea’s products features a distinct paper-like art style with pitch-black outlines and highlights, making them look like sketches that came to life.’

The collaboration resulted in a whole package of OnePlus Nord SE where the phone in the box comes with a case with the signature Reality to Idea look as well as a tote bag that follows the same design language. But from the hardware part, we are getting an ordinary Gray Ash colored OnePlus Nord with 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage configuration. But this doesn’t end here, the UI in the phone does not contain any special themes either, instead, you get a QR code leading to a stylized wallpaper that can be found on the back of the case package.

OnePlus realized that the design of the OnePlus Nord SE isn’t going well with the series smartphone as the other devices in the series have been designed for a shorter lifespan. Moreover, there seems a new OnePlus Nord is around the corner. So the company at the very last moment called off this collaboration.

Chelsea’s Serie A connection: Emerson and Bakayoko

0

Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri is set to leave the club this summer, amidst the lack of playing time that the Italian has had to endure with the arrival of Ben Chilwell and the resurgence of Marcos Alonso as part of the wing-back role employed by Thomas Tuchel since arriving at Stamford Bridge.

The player is still featuring for Italy, but has only managed to make 6 appearances for Chelsea this season. The only goal the left-back scored was the second goal in Chelsea’s second leg victory over Atletico Madrid in the Round of 16 of the Champions League.

The Brazilian-born left-back joined the Blues from Roma in January of 2018 for a fee worth €20 million, and his contract is set to expire next season. This will be the perfect opportunity for the Premier League club to cash in on him and for the 26-year-old to better apply his trade elsewhere. A return to Serie A could surely be on the cards for him.

Keeping to the topic of Serie A and Chelsea, it was recently confirmed that Tiemoue Bakayoko is to go back to Chelsea at the end of the ongoing campaign and that Napoli have not negotiated anything with respect to making the deal permanent.

Chelsea's Serie A connection: Emerson and Bakayoko

Bakayoko joined Chelsea in the summer of 2017 for a whopping €40 million from Monaco, but has failed to live up to both the price tag and the performances that he once displayed at Monaco. The Stamford Bridge outfit will have to make a decision on either selling him or loaning him out again since his contract with them expires in 2022 as well.

Manchester City’s options for Aguero replacement, midfield options

0

Now that Sergio Aguero is sure to leave Manchester City at the end of the season, the club have a lot of options to explore like Erling Haaland and Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan and will decide at the end of the season but are sure to invest in a first team striker in the summer.

The club is also looking at midfielders for the summer, and City scouts are looking at Manuel Locatelli of Sassuolo. Juventus are pushing for him, and are in the race for the player for a while now. Pep Guardiola needs something different now, more physical than technical and needs to look away from Zakaria to the likes of Locatelli and potentially someone who fits the bill of a physical specimen in the heart of the park.

Manchester City are also looking at Harry Kane as a potential replacement for Aguero, and Spurs don’t want to lose him, keeping in mind the contract situation surrounding the England captain. They are preparing to keep him at the moment, and will talk about his contract as soon as they can.

But all that said, it won’t be easy to retain him but it won’t be an easy negotiation considering the drought of silverware and the monetary demands of the player.

Microsoft Bags Multi-Billion Dollar Contract to Make Modified HoloLens for US Army

0

The U.S. Army has announced on Wednesday that Microsoft has won a contract worth up to $21.88 billion over 10 years, to supply them with HoloLens-based headsets. According to a CNBC report, it will involve Microsoft supplying over 120,000 headsets. Since 2018, Microsoft has had its fair share of working closely with the Army, and soldiers have been testing the Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) headsets over the past two years. These devices combine high-resolution night, thermal, and soldier-borne sensors into a heads-up display and enable soldiers to fight, rehearse and train in one system, the Army said in a statement.

“The system also leverages augmented reality and machine learning to enable a life-like mixed reality training environment so the Close Combat Force (CCF) can rehearse before engaging any adversaries,” reads a US Army statement, according to The Verge. The Army disclosed a version of its heads-up display in February, which was a newer, more ruggedized version. It could let operators of armored vehicles see through the walls of, for instance, a Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Poor sensor and GPS performance led to criticism for an earlier version.

Back in 2018, the software maker won a $479 million contract to supply the US Army with a version of its HoloLens AR headset. Fierce resistance from some Microsoft employees followed after the move was declared, forcing CEO Satya Nadella to respond. However, on this new headset deal, the calls have not stopped the United States Department of Defense and Microsoft from working together.

“Microsoft has worked closely with the US Army over the past two years, and together we pioneered Soldier Centered Design to enable rapid prototyping for a product to provide Soldiers with the tools and capabilities necessary to achieve their mission,” says Alex Kipman, Microsoft’s HoloLens inventor.

Since the second version of HoloLens launched in 2019, Microsoft hasn’t made any significant hardware changes but has been gradually improving the software alongside gesture improvements. The Verge reports that “recently, this has expanded to include Microsoft Mesh, the company’s vision to support what Microsoft calls “holoportation,” allowing people to appear as themselves in a virtual space.”

While the initial wave of AR headsets like the HoloLens, Snapchat Spectacles, and Google Glass wound up pivoting their business models from end-users to industrial, commercial, and military applications, things appear to be heating up again in the space. As we reported earlier, Facebook has nearly one-fifth of its employees working on VR and AR while has Apple charged its former hardware boss with overseeing AR and VR specifically. Also, in recent times, Samsung, Snap, Qualcomm, and others have been showing off more prototypes.

Nabil Fekir could join Arsenal only if Odegaard deal falls through

Real Betis winger Nabil Fekir is being linked with a move to Arsenal this summer. The player has scored three goals and recorded six assists this season, having scored and assisted seven each last time around.

The financial situation concerning the La Liga outfit could force them into parting ways with the French winger. This is because player sales could be their only hope of reaching some form of financial security right now, and Fekir, valued at £26 million by the club, is emerging as a potential target for the Gunners in the summer.

Odegaard Nabil Fekir could join Arsenal only if Odegaard deal falls through

Despite the links emerging between Arsenal and the 27-year-old, their priority remains to try and keep Martin Odegaard beyond his simple loan spell. The Norwegian has impressed during his time at the Emirates and has been exactly what Arsenal hoped for when they signed him in the winter.

Real Madrid and Arsenal are going to meet to discuss the player’s future at the end of the season, and it’s all up in the air until then. However, if they can’t then Fekir could be an option in the summer when the transfer window opens up for business.

Fekir has been linked with various Premier League clubs in the past, with Liverpool being the last ones to be rumouref as a potential destination for the player. Again, the only condition under which Fekir could move to the Emirates is if the negotiations concerning Odegaard fall through.

Bad news for Real Madrid as Sergio Ramos is injured ahead of a crucial week

0

Real Madrid face a tough week ahead as Zinedine Zidane’s side will host Liverpool at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on 6th April. Later on 10th April, the El Clasico will be taking place followed by the second leg against Liverpool.

Real Madrid announced on Thursday that their captain suffered a calf injury during international duty with Spain. This is really bad news for the team ahead of such a crucial week.

“The truth is that I have had some pretty tough few weeks,” Ramos wrote on Instagram.

“A surgery is always a sporting and emotional break. Luckily, for a few days now I have been feeling better, but in football as in life, bad luck also plays a role.

“Yesterday, after the game, I was training on the pitch and I noticed a puncture in my left calf.

“Today I have been tested and have been confirmed that I have a muscle injury.

“If there is something that hurts me, it is not being able to help the team in these highly demanding matches in which we play the season and also not being able to give back to you on the pitch the love and energy that you transmit to me.

“I can’t do anything but speak frankly, work hard and cheer on the team with my soul.”

Manchester United draw up centre-back shortlist for summer transfer window

While a good attack can win matches, title victories are built on a good defense, and that is the end that Manchester United are working towards with their transfer plans for the summer. The Red Devils are planning on investing in a quality centre-back to tighten up the defense much like their rivals, Manchester City and Liverpool.

This would help them in being strong challengers for the title next season, since the league almost belongs to Manchester City this year.

Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane is one of the names that has long been rumoured to be on the radar of the club, and his contract is set to expire next year. There has been a lot of speculation about the Frenchman’s future, as well as multiple reports saying that the player would want to leave in the summer. If that is the case, then a move to England could certainly be on the cards.

However, their search is not only limited to Varane. They are looking at centre-backs from all across the continent and will invest in someone this summer. Sevilla’s Joules Kounde is also another name on their shortlist. But the only problem in this case is the La Liga club’s asking price of €80 million for him.

Sven Botman of Lille is also on the list alongside Pau Torres of Villareal, with both the players being highly rated as upcoming talents in their respective leagues. They will decide in the summer and they will surely spend big on the position to make sure that their previous glory is restored.
