Players to be paid in full despite IPL 2021 postponement

BCCI postponed IPL 2021 amid increasing COVID-19 cases among the players. Recently, the match between KKR and RCB was postponed as two KKR players were tested positive before the match.

As per the reports, BCCI is set to lose over Rs 2000 crore of the broadcast and sponsorship money earmarked for this year’s Indian Premier League.

A senior BCCI official told PTI yesterday, “We would be losing anything between Rs 2000 to Rs 2500 crore for the midway postponement of this season. I would say something in the range of Rs 2200 crore will be closer to accurate estimation.”

“Slash all the payments by half or a bit less and you will be reaching a loss in the range of 2200 crore. The actual losses could be much more but this is a back of the hand calculation for the season.”- he added.

However, BCCI has instructed all the franchises to pay full salary to every player of the squad. According to the terms of a standard IPL Players contract, the franchises pay salaries in three instalments. The first instalment has already been paid whereas the last two payments held over until the conclusion of the tournament. If BCCI fails to resume the league later, still the players will receive their full salary.

The total salaries of all the IPL players are insured under the franchises insurance policies that cover them in the event of injury or any other mishappening. In IPL 2021, the total player’s salary was INR 483 crore.

Xiaomi 67W Fast Charger Confirmed to Launch in India

Xiaomi recently launched the Mi 11 Ultra along with the MI 11X series in India. The flagship smartphone is priced at Rs 69,999 in India, which is considerably less than what was expected. It packs the same specifications found on the Chinese model. However, the India variant of Xiaomi’s 2021 flagship misses out on getting a 67W fast charger inside the box. While the device does support 67W fast charging, it comes with a 55W fast charger instead due to some certification issues as mentioned by Manu Kumar Jain during the launch event. Users will need to purchase a 67W fast charger separately.

Xiaomi launched the Mi 11 Ultra in India in April with 67W fast charging support. However, the India variant comes with a 55W charger in the box. Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone comes with support for 67W wired and wireless fast charging support. However, the company decided to bundle a 55W charger with the India variant. When MySmartPrice asked, Xiaomi said that the 67W fast charger will arrive soon in India. The company is waiting for certification clearance before making the 67W fast charger available in India. It could also launch the 67W wireless charging adapter in the future. The likes of iQOO, OnePlus, OPPO, etc. continue to offer a 65W fast charger or higher in the box.

Xiaomi told to MySmartPrice that users will need to purchase the 67W charging brick separately upon its availability in the Indian market. Customers will continue to get a 55W fast charger in the box. Using the 55W charger, you can charge your flagship Xiaomi smartphone within an hour. The 67W fast charger, on the other hand, is claimed to fully charge the phone’s 5000 mAh battery in 36 minutes.

While not being able to get a 67W fast charger in the box feels like a letdown, it surely is better than not getting a charger in the box. The likes of Samsung and Apple do not offer a fast-charging adapter in the box.

On the other hand, Xiaomi India is yet to decide on the availability of the 80W wireless charger in India. We don’t see any possibility of Xiaomi launching the ultra-speed 80W wireless charging stand and the 120W adapter in India since even iQOO skipped the 120W charger for the iQOO 7 Legend in the country. This decision by the companies appears to be related to local safety regulations rather than their unwillingness.

Dogecoin owner sold all his coins to buy Honda Civic, it’s bigger than Honda now

Dogecoin is the hot cake from the last day in the global cryptocurrency market. The pricing dropped at the end of last month and touched around ₹13 for each one, but later the price keeps on increasing, and on this Wednesday, the meme crypto breaks its all records.

At the time of writing this article, the total market cap of Dogecoin is more than $78 Billion and as per the data of CoinMarketCap info, it’s the world’s 4th top cryptocurrency. For a clear idea, the market cap of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. is around $51 Billion. That means Dogecoin’s current market cap is more than the entire Honda company. Now, why I choose Honda for comparison?

Dogecoin's value rises as much as 80% as Bitcoin slows down

Dogecoin was created by two software engineers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer back in 2013. Recently, the co-creator Markus revealed that he sold all his Dogecoins in 2015 to buy a used Honda Civic. “I’ve always said was I sold everything for about as much as it would cost to buy a used Honda Civic. This was all my crypto too, I had Litecoin and Bitcoin and DOGE and a bunch of other ones,” he said.

However, Markus later said that he never buy the can. Instead, the $10,000 earned by selling all his Dogecoins spend to pay rent.

Realme C20A to launch in Bangladesh soon

Realme will soon launch a new version of the C20 handset. Dubbed as the Realme C20A , the phone will be available in Bangladesh first. There is no word on when the phone will launch in other markets.

Realme has confirmed the C20A will come with a 6.5-inch display and a 5,000mAh battery. The company has not disclosed other specifications yet. Realme had launched the C20 in India last month. Priced at ₹6,999, the handset is also the most affordable one in the new lineup. The phone comes in two colour options – grey and blue.

Realme C20A Specifications and Features

Realme confirmed the launch of the new C-series smartphone on its Facebook page. The phone will launch in Bangladesh this Eid. We can expect the phone to be unveiled around May 12. The company has confirmed that the phone will pack a 5,000mAh battery. It is also confirmed to feature a 6.5-inch display. Being a budget offering, the device will pack an LCD instead of an AMOLED screen. The phone will pack similar specifications as the Realme C20.

The Realme C20 features a 6.5-inch display with an HD+ resolution. It has a water-drop notch on top for the front camera. It also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. For optics, it features a single 8MP camera and a 5MP selfie shooter. Under the hood, the Realme C20 comes with a MediaTek Helio G35 processor. It also features a big 5000mAh battery with 10W charging. Realme is shipping the C20 with Android 10 out of the box.

It’s unclear how the C20 will differ from the C20A, but since the C20 wasn’t launched in Bangladesh, the C20A could just be a rebranded C20 for the Asian country. We’ll hopefully have more clarity on that as we inch closer to the May 13 announcement.

While it is very well documented that footballers are handsomely paid for their services, the same can be extended for their managers. European football in particular, at least in the top five leagues, involves a lot of money, and in this post, we look at the top five best-paid managers in 2021.

5. Antonio Conte (Inter) €11 million per year

Winning the Scudetto over the weekend for the first time in a decade, Antonio Conte has managed to lead the Nerazzurri back to the top of the Italian mountain, dethroning Juventus who enjoyed a stronghold of 9 years on the domestic title. While the future is still unclear, the Italian has done a remarkable job with Inter over two seasons.

4. Zinedine Zidane (Real Madrid) – €12 million per year

Managing the best club in the world is an extremely difficult job, but comes with its financial perks as well. Zizou led Los Merengues to their 34th LaLiga title last season and has made them legitimate title contenders once again this season despite the injury-plagued season.

3. Fabio Cannavaro (Guangzhou FC) – €12 million per year

Currently, atop the LaLiga table, Diego Simeone’s tactical philosophy is among the best in the world. He is hailed as the best defensive coach in the continent, and rightfully so. Atletico Madrid could finally win the LaLiga this season after seven seasons, ending Barcelona and Real Madrid’s streak of trading.

1. Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) – €23 million per year

Having only signed a new contract with City this season, Guardiola is the best-paid manager in the world. He has led the Sky Blues into their first-ever Champions League final and has the chance of winning the trophy after a decade. Given his tactical genius and his ability to work with the best, it is only fair that his work is rewarded well financially, which is possible for the City group.

UEFA release financial report for 19/20, records massive loss in revenue

0

UEFA have revealed their financial reports for last season, which includes the money earned by teams in the competitions organised by the body. This constitutes the Champions League, Europa League and Nations League.

The report indicates a sharp decline in the revenue earned by the teams participating in each competition. Talking figures, €3.093 billion between them in the 2018/19 season, this figure reduced to €2.417 billion the following campaign.

For the Champions League, in particular, the money earned by all the clubs collectively dropped from €1.96 billion to €1.64 billion. In the case of the Europa League, the total revenue earned by the clubs has decreased from €559 million to €478 million.

The Nations League had the worst fortune of all the tournaments, with the revenue earned by the teams being almost cut in half, plunging from €551 million in 18/19 to €278 million in 19/20.

neymar psg v marseille trophee de champions 2021 UEFA release financial report for 19/20, records massive loss in revenue

Paris Saint-Germain earned the most amount of money last season, with €126.8 million earned. They were followed by the winners of the Champions League, Bayern Munich, who got €125.45 million. Barcelona earned a little over €100 million, while Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid earned €91.45 million and €80.84 million respectively.

The three highest-earning English sides were Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea, with €94.74m, €79.57m and €78.56 million.

With these numbers, it is easy to see why the Super League was so lucrative to the teams that chose to break away. They are now left with a third of the income, which UEFA reportedly have plans of boosting in the years to come by some mechanism.

Leaks: Intel’s Alder Lake clock speed and core count details surfaces online

Intel launched its Rocket Lake-S desktop CPUs recently and it has become a hit, to say the least, and now the tech community is focusing on Intel’s next big venture that tis the 12th generation Alder Lake-S chips. And to add fuel to that anticipation, a new leak has surfaced online which gives us the detailed specs of an engineering sample of the Rocket Lake-S Desktop CPUs.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G appears on UserBenchmark and the results are satisfying

According to fresh sources, AMD’s Ryzen 7 5700G CPU has made its appearance online. The CPU in question was being tested in a synthetic benchmark. And as it has, the CPU created a new record for itself on the CPU-Z Validator site, and not to mention, the Zen 3 Cezanne APU also appeared on the UserBenchmark website being a part of an HP Pavilion Desktop system (TP01-2xxx).

The fact here is that UserBenchmark is always accused of being an intel bias platform and is always known to downplay the performance results of AMD APUs.

Though, let’s just ignore it and move onto the results. The CPU-Z score confirms what has been previously leaked about the chip: It is a single-thread/core beast that can churn out 631 points in this test leaving it +16.69% ahead of its predecessor.

UserBenchmark on the other hand has provided four different relevant scores for the 1-core and 2-core comparison, they are: for the 1-core test, the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G manages 154 points, 316 points in the 2-core test, and 184 points in the “Normal” workload, and an awarded average bench of 98.5%.

If we consider the average bench score, then it puts the Zen 3 Cezanne desktop APU alongside the Ryzen 7 5800 in UserBenchmark’s CPU chart, and the results hold up well in comparison to the average marks of the AMD Ryzen 7 4700G.

However, when compared completely in theoretical order, the newer chip manages gains of +9.22% (1-core), +13.67% (2-core), +12.20% (“Normal”), and +11.68% (bench). The performance of the CPU is not much to be marveled at, but its leaps and bounds ahead of what the Ryzen 7 4700G can perform.

Coming to the graphics side, UserBenchmark does show a healthy gain of +45.67% for the Vega 8 5000 compared to the Vega 8 4000. The overall result for the Ryzen 7 5700G shows a desktop APU flexing its Zen 3 microarchitecture muscles.

Surprisingly there has been no impact of COVID on Activision Blizzard Game Development

0

We all know the impact of COVID-19 on the entire game development scenario, having lots of delays that hit hard on the release schedule. But it seems, Activision Blizzard has not been affected at all.

Daniel Alegre, the president and COO of Activision Blizzard said during a conference call:

“As for your question on game development, we are fortunate that to date we really haven’t seen any significant impact on game development with our current games in the pipeline because we’re really meeting our pre-COVID milestone. And as we have seen in 2020 and also in early 2021 we’ve delivered the games that our players have expected and with the quality that really defines our company and we also have been very fortunate that we haven’t had to compromise game that our players have as a result just the best value for the money. So, it’s been incredible to see.”

Truly there have been no delays occurred from the side of Activision Blizzard so far. Meanwhile, Daniel Alegre specifically pointed out the plan to enlarge the headcount of certain development teams.

“Now, as mentioned in previous earnings calls, we have reopened some of our studio capabilities in the limited fashion for areas that really needed it like motion capture, for instance. And that was really to ensure that we just stayed on top of our milestone. And in each case, we obviously ensured strict adherence to heightened COVID testing and separation protocols that have ensured that our employees were kept safe.

But having said that, we recognized with our strategy of increasing game content and frequency as well as doubling down on live operations we must and we have to continue to grow our developer base. And this is why we recently announced, as Bobby alluded to in his opening remarks, the goal to hire 2000 plus developers over the coming few years, and we’re actively hiring around the globe and we have the benefit of having studios and cities across Asia, Europe, and of course, across the Americas.

So our teams are really adept at working across geographies and you’ll see us opening or expanding studios in locations such as Poland, and in Toronto for instance to give us access to some of the great pools of talent to really help us deliver on even more content in the years ahead.”

The recent Activision Blizzard release schedule contains Call of Duty 2021, Diablo Immortal, Diablo II: Resurrected, Diablo IV, and Overwatch 2, though the last two games are not going to be released this year.
